A great finish to the Peter and the Starcatchers series! I've really never been a big Peter Pan fan but these books made me love Peter. I always thought Peter Pan was too arrogant but these books shed a light on Peter's vulnerable, sweet side. I love how they set up the story because all the classic things about Peter Pan (his shadow, Tinker Bell, the clock in the crocodile, Captain Hook) are explained and it gives you that "ah-ha!" moment. All the books were very enjoyable and I still

I read this in one day. I really enjoyed this series and I don't know that I ever read Peter Pan. I don't consider myself a Peter Pan fan. They are great adventures and I love the concepts behind the story: star stuff, shadow stealing and how they work these in to explain parts of the original story. A really fun read.

I loved this trilogy to set up Peter Pan - the authors were meticulous in addressing details I'd even forgotten about (the ticking clock, the name Pan . . ) I wish I could live in this world a bit longer. I was sad to see this series end but loved ever minute of it!

If you’ve read the previous two books in the Peter Pan prequel trilogy, then you ought to take the time to read through this last book in the series. It follows the other books pretty logically, and it maintains the same sense of whimsy, adventure, and imagination that the previous books had. Unfortunately, it’s a little dense with detail, and more than a little overlong in its presentation.
Let’s be honest for a moment: Peter and the Starcatchers was really the only book necessary as More...

This is the third book in the series and it describes how peter gets captured by captain hook then the both of them gets captured by lord Ombra and taked to Rundoon. While this was still a very good book; it was as good as the first two in the trilogy. It dragged on in placed and was a little longer than it needed to be. The events also seemed more random, and while they tied together at the end it was a bit of a stretch. But...it is the history of Peter Pan, so I guess a stretch should be expected. I may have also not liked this book as well because I did not have as much time to read it as quickly as the first two(vacation, sickness, etc); and I tend to ge

Third in the Peter and the Starcatchers children's fantasy-adventure series based upon the Peter Pan of James Barrie fame.

My Take

We learn a tiny bit about Peter's parents as well as a wee bit about Peter himself. The important part of the story is saving the world from Lord Ombra and his Darkness and eliminating the slave trade between Rundoon and St. Norbert's even as Peter fears the watchfulness of his own shadow. Is it even his own?

I love this series so much, and I'm sad to see this trilogy end! Peter and the Secret of Rundoon is a fast-paced, wonderfully humorous, incredibly creative conclusion to a beautiful rendition of how Peter Pan could have come to exist.
All of the characters in this book are wonderfully thought out and set into the plot. From Molly's Starcatcher father to Captain Hook himself, each plays their role wonderfully (or sinister-ly, if referring to the pirate). I couldn't stop flipping the pa More...

This is the final book in the Starcatchers trilogy by Berry and Pearson. It was a satisfying and very complete conclusion. It was also a fast-paced, fun read.
Peter is back on Mollusk island and trying to get settled in after his adventures in London. Unfortunately he doesn't have long before things start to go awry. The Mollusks are attacked by a vicious band of tribesmen called the Scorpions. Back in London, the Aster family is having their own issues. The mysterious contact that used More...

Peter and the Secret of Rundoon is the third book in the Peter and the Starcatchers series and most likely the last! Most expect the third book to be a boring jumble of predictable events, but that is far from the truth. The third book was just as engaging and fun as the others! In this book, Peter finds himself traveling to the place he was supposed to be brought to from the very start to be sold as a slave. We should all thank Captain Hook for invading the ship which was leading Peter to his d

I just love going back to this Peter Pan series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. "Peter and the Secret of Rundoon" is the third book in what I think is a 4-book series that is a prequel to the events in the classic Peter Pan story by J.M. Barrie. As popular as these books are, however, I can see there being more of them still to come.
Essentially, this series describes Peter's back story. Things like how he is able to fly, how he meets the people who will become Wendy's More...

Peter's quiet life on the island is changed when the island is attacked by a murderous tribe. When Peter tries to come to the aid of the peaceful Mollusk tribe, he is downed by a poison arrow from the Scorpions. His weakened state allows him to be captured by the evil, reappearing shadow Lord Ombra who takes Peter to Rundoon. Peter's magical abilities to locate starstuff fall, a quality that he himself didn't even know he had, is needed for nefarious purposes by Ombra and the dark side he rep

This was the third book (and last) in the prequels to Peter Pan. You can tell 2 competent writers penned this, because the story was tight and thorough, and the writing was good. All the characters from the other 2 books came back, and Barry & Pearson managed to come up with an amazing backstory for the island, its natives, the mermaids, the crocodile (I LOVE the croc!), Tinkerbell, and the rest. I'm looking forward to Peter and the Sword of Mercy, which takes place 20 years later, and the co

In this book, Molly and George find out Peter's parentage and that he is a Watcher like his father before him. This explains why he is ablew to live after so much exposure to starstuff. Unfortunately, the Others have known about this for a while and have captured Peter to use him to find a major starstuff find. They are threatening the Lost Boys to ensure Peter's cooperation. Meanwhile, back on Mollusk Island, the Mollusk tribe has been overrun by a violent poison-loving tribe called the Scorpio

It was a spiffy book; very unpredicable!
I like how the Starcathers trilogy incorprates the backstory of different elements of Peter Pan that the book doesn't go in depth about, into the story like how Never Neverland and every one upon the island stays the same age forever because of the starstuff that leaked throw the hull of the ship as Captain Hook flew it in the sky that was very clever!

I read this series a while ago. It was REALLY good. It provides the background for how Peter Pan and the Lost boys, Captain Hook, Smee and the Pirates got to the island, how Peter got the magic to fly and explains Tinkerbell. It's sort of a prequel to Peter Pan. Except it's so much more. It's an adventure story with excitement and fantasy, brave children and girls who don't just stand back and let boys defend them but who are self-actualizing and equals--despite the time period. I read this ser

In my book peter and the secret of rundoon there is some conflicts in relationship. One major relationship is molly and tinkerbell. They are always wondering about what the other person is saying. This is pretty good, but it is mostly an 'action / hostage / save the world story', although things do get more interesting than that near the end, I think. More of what leads up to the story of Peter Pan unfolds in this book, although it seems there is more to come in the [fourth:] installment of this series.
Huh. For some reason I thought this was the second book, heh. I still have yet to read the true second book. I guess that explains why they referred to an event that I didn't re More...

Barry and Pearson have developed a very successful trilogy. Filled with adventure, a fast paced plot, magic and wonder, and dashes of funny episodes, this is a delight to read. In this one, the third in the series, Peter fights against the dark Lord Ombra, who has reappeared and decides to use Peter to get more Starstuff. Peter, Captain Hook and a few of the boys get captured while the island is attacked by the Scorpions, an evil, poison bearing tribe. Even with the wisdom of the head of the Mo

Peter and the Secret of Rundoon would have been greatly improved by reading the earlier books first. As it was there were a lot of things that the reader was assumed to already know.
The plot elements contained a lot of fun and interesting aspects, but I found the story arc that strung them together was a little clumsy. I know this is for a young audience, but the pace felt rather forced a lot of the time.

A great book that I haven't yet finished. At first It has a great storyline but later in the book you begin to lose interest and soon it just sounds like " Blah, Blah, Blah!" Though near the beginning it is just like all the other books. It has a great storyline and plenty of adventure. When Molly and George find out about peter's past they try to defend him while the evil tribe of savages called the scorpions are attacking the mollusk tribe at mollusk island. Molly, George and Peter

Barry and Pearson's third book in the Starcatcher series continues the adventures of Peter Pan, Molly Aster, Captain Hook and The Lost Boys on and off of Neverland Island.
As with the prior two books in the series, the writing style is crisp, light, and reads quickly and enjoyably.
The story encompasses Peter facing an old nemesis, the Neverland natives facing a threat to their Island, and wraps up nicely such questions as how that Crocodile got that clock inside him (and More...

The 3rd in the series that explains how Peter became Peter Pan, it begins with darkness and intrigue. The previous book ended with everyone thinking that things were resolved and safe, but quickly that idea disappears as we learn that shadow man, Ombra, is still alive and seeking Peter. And things get even more dangerous as an enemy tribe attacks Mollusk Island. All of this, while back in London, Molly discovers information about Peter's origins that let her know his life is in danger. And t

As good as the second in the series, this book sped right along and was difficult to impossible to put down. This time everyone had troubles - the Indians, the pirates, the boys, Peter, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, the Starcatchers, Franklin the monkey - you didn't know which to worry about first or most. The illustrations, if possible, were even better than in the first two books. I turned the page and saw the jackal building and wow - incredible. Also, when I picked up this book at the Seattl

My sister recommended this series to me and I am SO GLAD she did. Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson did a wonderful job of creating the background story to Peter Pan. Every question I could ever imagine having (and even those it never occurred to me to wonder) about Peter Pan: where he came from, why he never grew up, who the Lost Boys were, where Neverland was, and how it came to be magical, how Peter could separate from his shadow-EVERYTHING-was answered, while leaving room for any number of futur

4.5 for this one. I think it's the best in the series so far! Lots of preposterous events and flat-out lucky coincidences, but the story is great fun and action-packed with some very tense moments. It's also very funny and has some bittersweet parts that brought me close to tears. These books have made me love Peter (and Tinker Bell) much more than I did before reading them. I never really liked Tinker Bell at all and I didn't understand Peter much (though I did like him), but these stories
