Two years ago Carla's twin sister Keri was killed by a rogue and now her soul is stuck in a knife and she's not able to move on, to be at peace. Both Carla and Sutton are connected to Keri, and their intense attracting to each other is almost more than they can handle. But to save Keri they must resist that attraction or she could be lost forever...

I discovered Jennifer Lyon’s first book in her Wing Slayer series, Blood Magic, on a whim earlier this year. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it and was eager to read Soul Magic and Sutton’s story.
Sutton West is one of a race of Wing Slayer Hunters that have been cursed. They crave witches blood, using sex to ease their hunger. If they succumb and drink the blood of a witch, they turn rogue, and kill the witches with a never-ending hunger. Sutton and his friends track and k More...

Ohmigod!! Ohmigod!! I love this series!!! Yes, I do!! It's fabulous!! The second book totally picked up with a bang after the muddle of Blood Magic!!
A little background first.
So the Wing Slayer Hunters, former Guardians of the Earth Witches, are now cursed to kill the very ones they have sworn to protect. The only way to break the curse is the Witch Hunter to find his soul-mirror, the other half of his soul. Only if the soul-mirrors are united through blood and sex, will the More...

I have to say that although at first the novel made me think that it was quite different from many other paranormal books; however it has many similarities then differences. Many of the powers that the individual characters in the book have are very similar to those of the novels of Christine Feehan. But one thing that can be said is that the different powers of the witches and their association with the birds that their “soul-mirror” or soul mate has tattooed on his back are quite fasci

Round two in Jennifer Lyon’s Wing Slayer Hunter series is the story of Dr. Carla Fisk, a psychologist and earth witch whose sole purpose in life is to help victims of brainwashing and cult activity. As both a shrink and a practicing earth witch, Carla is uniquely qualified to help her patients deal with their trauma while simultaneously easing their pain. Carla’s compassion and desire to help others was born out of her inability to help her twin sister Keri, a powerful earth witch who was kill

Well, I loved Sutton, he is a great character. He had a lot of baggage to overcome and prove to himself he deserved to have Carla. And truthfully, the interaction with the Eagle was just great and somehow funny how Sutton just excepts the actions of the Eagle on is back. Carla is a complicated character and not my favorite. But Carla and Sutton are a perfect match for each other, they have a lot of passion and it shows. The journey for the Wing Slayer Hunters (I still hate that name) continues,

It took me about half way through this book before I really got into it. I wasn't really in love with the heroine Carla. To me, she was wishy-washy and not nearly as into her hero as a good heroine should be. At one point, when faced with a choice between saving her hero or her years dead sister's soul, she actually had to think about it for awhile. Sutton, the hero, was stalwart, endearing, and really just a tad insecure. Sutton did have some extremely hot dialogue, that I wish had been returne

Cried so hard near the end of the book I couldn't even see the words. Then I was pissed. If it wasn't for having the flu and no energy I would have hurled it across the room. Not sure how to rate it. Enjoyed reading it. Made me bawl…but it was so *ucked up that I didn't enjoy the story even if love did triumph.
**Vague SPOILER**
I wanted a 'meant to be' story not a 'we'll let you see if it works' story.

It has a great world in which the they live and the characters are built wonderfully and they interact very well with each other.. I LOVE LOVE this world and as I said, read it if you want complicated and juicy!

I didn't think this one was as good as the last one, but I still enjoyed it. It bothered me that other than a throw away line they dropped the story line with Axel's sister.
I did like Carla and Sutton, and thought the whole complication with her twin was an interesting one. I loved watching Sutton interact with Carla's mother and his not knowing how to deal with a mother. Her mother yelling at the eagle and it listening was great. I also liked learning a little more about the wit More...

I loved Sutton and Carla's story. Sutton West is a witch hunter or a Wing Slayer, who is fighting a losing battle against the lure of witch blood - Carla's too be specific. He wants her bad but is terrified of the dreams he's having of slicing her and blooding himself, going rogue. This is a wonderful tale of true love with many many complications including a twin (Carla's) who might be Sutton's true soul-mirror with the twin bond it's impossible to tell. A very well-written tear-jerker.

Jennifer Lyons adds to the mythos of her Wing Slayer Hunter world with this uncompromising tale of a man driven to the edge and the witch who keeps him from falling over. Once again, laughter and tears mingled in this up-all-night read.

Beware of this book! It will suck you in and you will not be able to stop reading until you reach the final page. Then, sadly, you will pine for the next book, but it does not come out till next year.

I liked this novel by Jenniffer Lyon. It was the first novel I had read by her and found the plot interesting and the characters well written. It was intense at times and I like intense.

This has a twist on the lifemate/soulmate theme that put me off reading it for about six months. Eventually, I decided to read it anyway, and I'm very glad that I did. The twist was resolved satisfactorily, and the chemistry between the hero and heroine was powerful. Sutton was an absolutely adorable, angsty hero.

Well, she did it again! What a great story! I loved how it's the same but so different. The different perspective for an entire book is genius! I've never read a series that has done this. So very cool! I loved Sutton and Carla's story. I teared up about 3 times towards the end. So good! I can't wait to get Night Magic.

Found this better then Blood Magic. Sutton and "Carly" had me in tears so many time. And my heart kept aching for Keri.

I loved this book, the struggle that was written in of finding the soul mirror was excellent. And what was better was I loved how he never thought for one moment that she was not his. The explanation was fantastic. And I still got my HEA even with all the drama

I am liking this series, but not loving it. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but it just didn't hold my interest very well. I kept thinking "how much longer until I finish this book." I just wanted to finish it and be over with it. The love story is very nice but for some reason I am just not getting into the plot too much.

I get tired of reading about the New Age slant to the magic in Lyon's book--chakras, astral planes, etc. But the love story carried the day in Soul Magic and kept me reading. It was powerful enough to bring tears to my eyes at the dark moment--a sign of a good book IMO.

Pretty good book but I wish there was a little more action and a little less "rolling in the hay". All in all not a bad book though... Looking forward to the next one.

I loved this book. Sutton isn't my favourite of the Hunters but the emotion was palpable in this one. Carla is my favourite heroine in this series - so far! There may even have been tears in this one.

Not as good as the first. Sutton was such a sweet heart. The ending made me teary eyed which is for me good. Love it when books bring out those emotions. Overall really good and I still love this series.
