Kasey and Deke make a pretty good living as private detectives, even for a werewolf and a vampire. They know they have trouble when a tall blonde shows up, asking them to keep tabs on her cheating husband. Kasey knows the woman is lying, but they have no idea what they're getting themselves into.

When the cheating hubby turns out to be a genetic mutant with some unusual ta

Another winner with Deke and Kasey. 3.5 stars. Now a couple in business as well as life, they have taken on a case that Kasey has not liked from the start. He knew the client was lying and it went from bad to worse pretty quickly. Reluctantly, Kasey agrees to continue - at a much higher rate - because Deke feels like he needs to support a fellow werewolf. Turns out there the lying and the deceit and more importantly, the danger, is a lot worse than either of them thought. They persevere and have ...more

Deke is a werewolf, Kasey a vampire. They are PIs and lovers. It's not the first time I read about a pair of werewolf and vampire, but it's the first time that the two breeds seem to cohabitate without problem. Kasey is the mind and Deke the arm. Not that Deke isn't bright, but he is more feral, more instinct, and instead Kasey is cool and calculator: everything can be done at the right price...

The 2nd book in the series. I highly recommend reading the first one. In fact, the whole series is proving to be well worth it and there are 8 total books (mostly short stories) out right now.

There is a book called "Blood Rose: A collection of shorts" that belongs in this series but is not listed on Goodreads unless you look it up by separating the word Blood Rose. It has 3 of the short stories in this series: #3-Fireworks; #5-Harder than It Looks; #6-Learning to Wag and a 4th short not listed a
Deke is a werewolf and his lover Kasey is a vampire. Together, they run a PI company. The case they take on, checking to see if a blonde weres husband is cheating on her, turns out to be completely different, a case of genetic mutation. Doc and his daughter Lauren are just jerks, selfish and out for themselves. I felt sorry for Jason, regardless of what he did. And Deke and Kasey, just loved them. Hot, hot couple.
Honestly I probably wouldn't have bought this one if I hadn't gotten it at the same time as "An Itch to Scratch". Sometimes it pays to buy a whole series at once, sometimes it doesn't. This one was only 29 pages in pdf format, barely an epilogue to the last story. The intrigue of the new relationship was gone, and nothing really came in to take it's place. I'd say "skip it".
Kasey and Deke story continues in this shorty. They work fine together, which was fun to read.
