It was great to see these stories again, many I remember reading back in the 50's. Included in this book are the time Tub learns what "obnoxious" means, the little beeble-berry picking girl gets turned into a monkey, and the time when Tubby - with his detective disguise as "a heap of ice cream with chocolate syrup an' cocoanut sprinkles on it" makes the famous statement to Lulu: "I can always WASH my face - you can't do anything about YOURS!".
