I’m a sucker for romance stories featuring hot firefighter heroes, and after being somewhat disappointed with Wild Heat, the first book in Andre’s Hot Shots: Men of Fire series, I was hoping for a bit more from this second installment. But unfortunately, Hot as Sin doesn’t quite live up to its full potential either.
On the surface it’s got everything going for it to be a five star read: an extremely sexy cover, a ‘hot-as-sin’ wildland firefighter hero, a strong, determ...more

I've never made this complaint about a romantic suspense novel before but the story was completely implausible to the point it was hard to read this. Dianna has a car accident that's no one's fault; Dianna is raised by an alcoholic mother (who is still alive) who put Dianna's four-year old sister into foster care and Dianna worked ten years to get custody of the sister; Dianna's fiancee (Sam) from ten years ago drops everything to fly to Dianna's hospital bedside after the car accident; the meth...more
Although this one didn't really have that much sex in it, the romantic tension between Sam (who is a super hot hotshot) and Dianna is pretty tense. The whole time I kind of felt broken hearted for both of their troubled lives and was sure glad they got a HEA.
Some good moments:
All these years he'd been so busy blaming her for leaving. But now he saw that he'd taken the easy way out. He hadn't wanted to take a frank look in the mirror an ask himself what he'd dong wrong of how he'd fucked things u...more

My Review:
Overall, this was a pretty good book. Sam & Dianna have an undeniable connection. The tension between them is palpable- both for the misunderstandings and assumptions from 10 years ago when they were both too young and too stupid, but also for the sexual tensions that are still there now.

Thoroughly enjoyed this second installment in the Hotshots series! It takes place outside of Vail, Colorado and the bulk of the story is in the Rocky Mountains, 2010. It's a rekindled young love tale with a super sexy firefighter that was introduced in Wild Heat.
Sam MacKenzie and Dianna Kelley met when they were 18 and 20 years old, and after a very hot "courtship" they were in love and getting married. Things happened that neither handled well--they were young--and they broke apart. But, each...more

I always say this in my reviews: I'm a fan of second chances.
This story is all about that, not just between a man and a woman in love, but it could also be second chances with family members.
Sam and Dianna reunited after 10 years and their feelings for each other never diminished. There's the usual resentment and feelings of betrayal but they hashed it out and throughout the story, they rekindled their love. They're really good together and good for each other.

My summary of the book - After 10 years apart Sam still rushes to Dianna's side after hearing she was in a car accident and soon ends up helping her look for her sister. Soon the past catches up with them and they have to sort out the past to be able to sort out the present and future. The passion still sizzles between the pair and they can't forgot the love they had for each other those 10 years before.

The second entry in the Men of Fire series by Bella Andre. I liked it but not as much as the first. You still had to suspend reality quite a bit but I'm mostly okay with that since that's the whole idea with fiction anyway, isn't it?
I really enjoyed Sam and Dianna's story which was emotional, loving and filed with action pack adventures that had me glued to the book until the last page. Sam and Dianna were in love but tragedy and misunderstandings tore them apart 10 years ago. Now they see each other again when Sam rushes to her side after hearing she was in a car accident and emotions run high as they face their past and remember what they meant to each other that touched my heart. I rooted for them to overcome past hurts...more

This book was fair. I'll start off by saying that I don't like books where the hero and heroine were lovers in the past. I like to read about people meeting for the first time and falling in love, not getting back together. I found it improbable that Sam would go running off to the side of his ex-fiance whom he hadn't seen in 10 years even if he did hear she had a car accident. I also think they fell back into each other's arms too quickly. Three days after being apart 10 years was a bit short t...more
I liked this book. I didn't love it, but what can ya do. Anyway this is about Sam a Hotshot firefighter and Dianna . I enjoyed the flashbacks in book. Brought more depth to the book. I am not quite sure what it was that didn't make me love it. Maybe just the action for me felt a little flat. I did love the way that Sam and Dianna were together. Their love was put to the test 10 years ago and things went bad. There was a lot of misunderstanding and assumptions about each other. When they finally...more
Hot as Sin, the second installment in the Hot Shots Series, is a story of second chances and never-ending first love. Unlike book one with fire ranging all around the characters, this book highlights the skills and rugged strength both of heart and body of the fire fighter hero as he fights to help the ones he loves.
Sam Mackenzie has been fighting fires for years now and he has learned to never back down from a fight and allow the fire to win. But on his days off he struggles to keep his mind of...more

A plethora of issues and dysfunction worthy of a Jerry Springer episode wasn't to my liking but when the heroine's sister calls saying she just escaped from some guy who kidnapped her and the call gets cut off the heroine doesn't immediately call the police. In fact after a long drawn out conversation with the hero about the phone call and she finally decides it's time to involve the police the hero tells he not to bother.

The second in a series about Hotshot firefighters from Lake Tahoe. Sam MacKenzie was introduced briefly in the previous book, Wild Heat. He's been a hotshot for over 10 years and kept his heart locked up tight since his fiancee left him 10 years ago when he was just a young 20-year-old hotshot and she was recovering from a car accident.

I'll have to admit I was disappointed in this sequel. It was nowhere near as good as the first book in the series.
The author, Bella Andre, did not show much skill in giving us insights into the motives for the secondary characters actions, and she did an all right but not great job drawing the protagonists.
There is an element of the willing suspension of disbelief anytime one enters a fictional world. The plot of this book goes over that line into unbelievable. There is an evil villian, we are o...more

When I saw this book, I was immediately drawn in by the interesting title and the visually appealing cover. When I read that the book was about a firefighter, I just had to buy it, and I do not regret that decision one bit. I have not read the first book in this series, but I have to say, that out of all the books I've read with a firefighter hero/heroine, this is one of my favorites.

I think Bella Andre is one of those authors whose books I can read and don't really mind, but that don't really hook me. There just seems to be something about the way she writes, the way she tells a story that doesn't entirely appeal to me. Because I didn't mind this book. It was above average, I'd say, but there was something missing from it. Something that didn't pull me in.

Fans of hot romances featuring hot firefighters
This was a very good, passionate, but often sad reunion or 'second chance at romance' story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hot As Sin is the second in the author's Men of Fire series about 'Hotshot'(wildfire) firefighters based near Lake Tahoe, but unlike the first book (Wild Heat), I thought this one focused on the relationship between the H/h more so than the firefighter plot, which worked for me. There was a mildly suspenseful plot to go along with the romance, but to me, the romance was front...more
Hot as Sin was another enjoyable read in he series. This time around, the story was based a lot more on the romance between the two main characters, Dianna and Sam.
We met Sam in the previous book, Wild Heat, but this time we learnt the very sad back story of Dianna and him. It was very touching and tragic, and I must admit that I had tears in my eyes for some of it. It was made very clear from the beginning that these two were still in love with each other, and the sexual tension between them wa...more

I don't know why, but this book didn't do it for me. The plot didn't keep me interested and even when I just finished the book I'm having a hard time remembering the names of the characters.
After reading the Firefighters from station 5 series, I've been looking for more stories about firefighters, but sadly I haven't found a compelling enough book so far.
This wasn't particulary good but it wasn't bad either.

Well, I have to say even though Sam Mackenzie was hot, the book was not. I know I gave it three stars but that is all Sam. I could not buy into Dianna character or her sister and all their drama. I know that that was the plot but I found myself putting the book down whenever it became dialog with the two sisters. Got boring to me I actually read another book, then went back because I had to finish it.
Wilderness firefighter Sam MacKenzie learns that his former fiancé Dianna has been injured in a car accident in Colorado. He flies to Colorado to see for himself that she will recover. Dianna's sister is kidnapped and Sam helps Dianna rescue her sister. In the meantime, Sam and Dianna rediscover their love. Romance and suspense, always a good combination for an entertaining story.
Only total desperation could reunite Dianna Kelley with Sam MacKenzie, the irresistible bad boy she walked out on ten years ago. But the fearless firefighter with the awesome wilderness skills is the only one who can take her where she needs to go. It's a gamble--tracking down her endangered sister while keeping Sam and their undeniable attraction at arm's length. Not easy when they're trekking into a remote corner of the Rockies, where she's got to trust her former lover with her life.

I loved the rekindled romance of this story, the fact that Sam and Dianna found each other again after ten years hit the mark on the ‘melt-your-heart meter’…. But… I didn’t like the fact that April was kidnapped and just a day or so after a major car accident Sam was irresponsible enough to take Dianna on a cross country trek, with white water rafting and mountain climbing thrown in. She clearly didn’t partake in such adventures normally, so to do something so phy...more

I want me a hot fire fighter!! Wow smoking hot!!! I love the sheer determination and will of a hero in love! Wish we saw more of the happy ending..... I have a feeling after that night at the commune that Dianna is pregnant again? Hopefully we will get a further glimpse at their happily ever after in Conor's story!
The only sin here is that someone was actually paid to write this novel. In a nutshell: Sam MacKenzie, Hotshot wilderness firefighter, douses all kinds of flames (if you know what I mean) while helping his ex track down her kidnapped sister. I enjoy a good bit of smut, but this wasn't really sexy, romantic, suspenseful or particularily entertaining on any level. The cover is nice, though...
This wasn't as good as Wild Heat but still enjoyable. I found Dianna Kelley to be a bit of a pain in the butt. Sam MacKenzie was amazingly hot and skilled as both a survivalist and fire fighter though there wasn't much fire fighting in this book. Dianna's sister April goes missing and she teams up with ex-fiancee Sam to find her. They hadn't spoken in 10 years and the tension between them was keeping them from working together which they needed to do in order to survive the wilderness of the Col...more
2.5 stars story was just okay. the plot is not original and not even done well just okay. it could have been so much better bc it's the story of a couple who broke up after a miscarriage.
