We always took the paper when I was growing up, and I was the most faithful one to read it - sometimes for the sports but always for the comics. I had mentally divided the comics into 3 categories: 1) the truly great ones that I *couldn't* miss (Calvin & Hobbes, Far Side, Bloom County, Peanuts), 2) the ones to avoid (usually *serious* stuff like Rex Morgan, M.D. or Prince Valiant), and 3) the rest (those which weren't as consistent, but funny often enough that I would usually read them). A posthumous collection of all the B.C. comics with a Christian theme, this extraordinary collection includes humor and puns with some incredibly deep statements of faith, particularly around the crucifixion and resurrection. Wiley the poet also contributes some delightful works on God and man. Well worth reading, both for the enjoyment and the uplifting nature of Hart’s message. I had forgotten about this strip. I really enjoyed it and decided to give this a go.

Johnny converted to Christianity and started using his strip to spread the word. I enjoyed the humorous ones but found many simply preachy. It would have been different for me if mixed in with non religious strips but that was the focus.

I ended up abandoning the book but rating three stars because it is exactly what it promised and the comic is a very good one.

i've always enjoyed the b.c. comic strip, so i figured i would like this book as well. although the comics in this book tended to be more thought-provoking than laugh-out-loud funny, i did chuckle at a few. a nice collection.

It takes courage for anyone in an entertainment medium to profess faith, faith in the divine being so unfashionable. I miss his work at Christmas and Easter.
