Sloweducation
My second Doc Savage. The level of action is almost unbearable. Savage and his crew narrowly escape mortal danger in almost every chapter. In the dumbest escape, Monk is shot by a firing squad. Everyone leaves the room, and he gets up and brushes himself off. He was wearing body armor. Very silly book. Sometimes I was quite amused by it and other times I was deadly bored.
Steve Bergstrom
More wholesale and somewhat gruesome slaughter than in others in the series. Add to that an overabundance of deus ex machina and I can say that this is likely to be one of the books that Lester Dent did not write.
