I love Stephanie Plum for the sheer escapism of the stories, yes they are formulaic, yes nothing new really happens (Joe Morelli or Ranger? Another car blows up? oops!) but really when you need a laugh does that REALLY matter?
So the "Between the Plums" series are great escapism too. (Joe Morelli or Ranger or Diesel?) A little paranormal whodunit just to keep current with the times when werewolves, vampires and ghosts are in every other book you pick up (and as a librar...more

Because apparently people on Amazon and some other places aren't clear: this book covers three between-the-numbers novels that were previously released separately. This book covers Visions of Sugar Plums, Plum Lovin', and Plum Lucky. There's probably some way to figure out just where each of these three fits into the greater series, but I'm too lazy for that. I finally got to them after reading Sizzling Sixteen, so I didn't encounter anything spoilery.

Between the Plums is an omnibus of three short Stephanie Plum novels; Visions of Sugar Plums, Plum Lovin' and Plum Lucky.
Because I'm reading the Stephanie Plum series in the order that they were originally published, I've only read the first for now. The other two will wait until their proper time. This is the first time that I'm introduced to the character of Diesel who just appears in Stephanie's kitchen literally out of thin air.

If you take the usual hilarious insanity of Stephanie Plum's life, mix in some holidays, and then add in some supernatural elements this is what you get. At first I was a little wary since the new character (Diesel) fully admits he's not...normal...but after all the other books, it doesn't take long for you to take in stride and enjoy the ride. And oh what a ride it is...
I almost think if I had to pick only one book to own? It might be this one.

I've read 2 of the 3 of these in their separate published forms, but took this set with me to the beach. I read this after having read Wicked Appetite, so was reminded about Diesel as I re-read the two (I think the only one I hadn't read before was Plum Lucky). As always, Stephanie Plum is a wonderful character, and I just love Lula. I consistently laugh out loud at her antics.
Since I listened to this (audio book), it was interesting to "hear" voices associated with some of my favorite characters. Not as funny as a Stephanie Plum numbered novel, all three short stories were entertaining enough.
A nice vacation, I like Grandma and how things just keep happening, one after another, characters popping up and cars exploding and such, amid sweetly chaotic family dinners and hamster feedings.
Plum Lovin' was cute but I found Visions of Sugar Plums kind of boring. And Plum Lucky was just pointless. Disappointing; I had hoped for better.
Duh. Should have read a bit more about this book, didn't realize it was 3 of the "betweens" rolled into a single book. Recognized the first two, dabbling into the 3rd one, but I've probably read it already....
Not to say that I didn't enjoy them - I enjoy all the Plum books, but do have a stack of TBRs that I haven't already read.....
That being said, the Betweens introduce Diesel, a fun dude and who gets his own series perhaps, based on the other book whose tit...more

These were ok, but a disapointment if you love the Stephanie Plumb love triangle.
I really enjoyed this 3-in-1 book. I hadn't read any of of her previous books but they were very entertaining.
It is 3 small books put together. I had read 2 of the 3 already, but enjoyed rereading some. Plum Lucky is my all time favorite due to the Grandma being the main character!
Plum Lovin' (A Between-the-Numbers Novel) by Janet Evanovich (2007)
Just a fun read... light, easy, and filled with the usual characters.

of course I loved it
Very disappointed in this as I thought it was going to be a new book and new story. Instead it was three of her other books put into one.
