Vegan Lunch Box Around the World by Jennifer McCann is a collection of vegan, allergy friendly recipes that your kids will love to have for lunch. Many of the recipes are also very suitable for dinner like the Chik'n Pot Pie and the New England Chowder. There are a wide variety of recipes including main course, soups, salads, grain dishes, veggie dishes & desserts.

The cookbook is broken down into two parts. Part one contains menus from around the world including United States, Canada, Mexico...more

for someone with more time on their hands than i do. the recipes were pretty good, but they all make different quantities, and there is never any time listed. to make a full meal you have to make 4 or 5 recipes. that's a lot of time in the kitchen! i made a carribean one, the german one, and the moroccan one. they were all good, but simple and time consuming. however it did inspire me to get a bento box and i'm in love.

This book was considerably better than McCann's first, Vegan Lunch Box: 130 Amazing, Animal-free Lunches Kids and Grown-ups Will Love!. While both rely too much on processed faux-meats, the international edition offered a much wider variety. It ran the spectrum from incredibly quick to time-consuming preparation, giving ideas to a spectrum of tastes and abilities. I actually found the meal plans in this book a little less creative, but the recipes overall are much healthier and more interesting.

I enjoyed flipping through the recipes and getting inspired by vegan lunchbox around the world. However, when it finally came time to cook something I often found I either didn't have the time or ingredients, and the one time that I did cook, the ending result was not as good as I thought it would be. Though some may like this cookbook, it was not a good fit for me.

I'm not vegan...in fact, I'm not even vegetarian. That said, I didn't check out this book for specific recipes as I would sub in the ingredients that match my lifestyles. There are a few ideas I'll try but most of the ideas, in my opinion, aren't "easy" and they are a little too much for lunch. This wasn't a book that inspired me toward any new lunch box ideas for my kids or for me.

Great lunches for kids and adults, although there are quite a few that take more than a couple of minutes in the morning to prep. I found something for a wide variety of palates in this book and enjoyed trying lots of new things!
Rebecca
If these are easy lunches, I'd hate to see the hard ones! Way too many ingredients and steps! Tofu that looks like a tiger face? If anyone has time to make anything from this book on a school morning, send them to my house!

there are some really wonderful ideas in here for an international lunch box, but not enough. The book focuses more on the ideas more than the recipes. I wanted more recipes.

Really interesting recipes. Theres about 5 i have to try in the next week for sure.
Michelle
Too much prep for lunch. My kids and I really don't like most of the recipes.
Mackenzie
Interesting cookbook. I now have some more healthy lunch ideas!

Must try out more things before rating. The ideas are fun and sound tasty though there's a bit more reliance on faux foods than I normally do. Which is, of course, for a reason: to give kids healthy lunches that will minimize the social troubles of growing up vegan.

I think I got this one after being impressed with a blog. While I'm not vegetarian, I thought some of the recipes would work for me since I'm grain-free. I didn't try any before it was requested back at the library so I couldn't renew :(
