In my book the title alone earns it 3 stars. I like buying cookbooks from places I live or have lived and I have another Jr. League of HR book, but couldn't resist the new one with the retro cover. Haven't tried the recipes yet, but it's fun to look through and there is a good mix of very simple sounding recipes for weeknights and special occasions alike. Some of the combos sound a bit odd, but I am a yankee by nature, so that may be why...
This is truly one of the best Junior League Cookbooks to come out in a long time. Such a good read, the 'momaism's' throughout the book are sure to bring a smile with lots of childhood memories. The recipes are just icing on the cake - no pun intended - as they are truly family favorite recipes that todays busy family can find the time to enjoy - home cooked and at home together.
