while pictures and italiziced words were helpful, I still found this slender volume suffered from too many different tools/implements/gadgets being discussed within a short span of pages--not every item could be pictured. While many words (i.e. lardbeating) had a vague ring of familiarity, perhaps adding quotes where the reader likely encountered these words without knowledge (i.e. Thomas Hardy, Jane Austen, etc.) may have helped strengthen the readers' understanding as well as being able to ret ...more
