I read through this book critiquing (Silently, of course...After all, who am I to criticize...Have I written a novel yet?) the characters, writing and lack of tension/surprise/interest in the plot. Yikes!

Meg Cabot's final book in her "Queen of Babble" series.
My biggest problem with this book- and the series in general- is that the first Queen of Babble book doesn't really belong with the last two books. It's as if Cabot just decided to use those same characters in two more books, but just chose to forget about the characterizations she set up in Book One. It's almost as if two different people wrote the books....
On the other hand, I like the heroine a lot. Lizz More...

If you didn't believe me before... believe it now - I'm a sucker for a Meg Cabot book! A very nice bit of fluff - a true summer read. I've totally added Chaz to my list of literary men that have ruined me for real men. I'm sorry, but remembering that stupid stuff, the "I like a side of ice with my wine" stuff, is totally romantic gold. I was actually just channel surfing the other night and saw Kevin James' (The King of Queens) stand-up routine... he was advising the men of the audien

Lizzie wakes up to the new year in the arms of..... Chaz! The streaming images of her memory flashes to the night before and the beard burn all over her face only confirms it! As if she isn’t surprised enough, who would happen to turn up on her doorstep, but Luke. And just like that he slips a huge rock on her finger and she gives Chaz the boot!
So, why does she get these warm tingly feelings whenever she thinks about Chaz, and she so conveniently breaks out in hives whenever she thin More...

The book will be officially released on June 24, 2008. I got an advanced copy for free when I went to TLA (Texas Library Association).
:-p
This is the third installment in a series (after Queen of Babble and Queen of Babble in the Big City) featuring Lizzie Nichols. The book starts with Lizzie having spent the night with Luke’s (Lizzie’s ex-boyfriend) best friend Chaz. However, Luke suddenly reappears and asks Lizzie to marry him, she consents. Beginning moments afer the end of Queen of Babble in the Big City, Lizzie Nichols finds herself suddenly engaged to Luke, while trying to figure out what to do with Chaz (having the honor of being both Luke's best friend and Lizzie's best friend's ex-boyfriend), who is still asleep up in her apartment. Unsure of her feelings for Chaz (and relatively certain "nothing happened" as she is still in her Spanx), Lizzie begins to prepare for a French wedding and the eventual meeting of her m

This is the 3rd book in the series; Lizzie is supposed to be getting married to Luke, a wealthy guy, with a rich French family.
However, she actually falls in love with Luke's best friend Chaz. Now she has to figure out if and how she is going to break her engagement with Luke.
Meanwhile, she is having problems at work. She is basically running a shop that redesigns dresses. The owner had a heart attack and she is doing great at meeting the needs of her customers. Howeve More...

So I'm catching up on all the reviews for all the audio books I've been listening to lately. I spent a lot of time in my car driving and was starting to forget all the audio books that had crossed my path. Enjoy and if you don't do the audio book thing, check out my post here about why I think they are the bomb. Yes, I did just totally dork out. :)
Having listened to the audio books of the previous Queen of Babble titles, I was already familiar with the characters and the readers voi More...

The final book of the QoB series finds Lizzie finally getting her proposal from Luke, but unfortunately she has just one small problem. She's already spent the night (without sex) with Chaz, and was planning on dating him. Rushing headfirst into the proposal, Lizzie finds that things aren't as easy as she thought they would be, whether it's at work or at love. Between trying to get over her panic attacks over the idea of marrying Luke or trying to play "My Fair Lady" with a Paris Hilto

i'm sure i would have had more to say had i reviewed the book right after i finished reading it. instead, i gave myself time to travel & gets settled into my summer digs in philadelphia & now i don't care about this book anymore.

Okay, I'm over last episode of American Idol,
I think I can handle this review now...
I looooved this book! everything turned out the way I was hoping
but somehow it was all better than what I imagined,
the answers to previous questions and actions were smoothly stated
and Lizzie finally makes a decition, I love how much Lizzie grew as a character,
she stopped being that small town girl with a big mouth that wanted to marry someone
sooooo bad that More...

And Lizzie Nichols returns again, this time engaged to Luke. There's a wrinkle because her friend Shari has broken up with Chaz. And there's energy between Lizzie and Chaz. What is going on?
Her business as a wedding dress restorer takes off and she finds fame and new friends. Her engagement to Luke is less than satifying. Romantic, big-hearted, and loving, she learns that silence speaks as well as chattering. She finds what she needs and she finds love in ways that show maturit More...

Warning: This review assumes that you have read the first two books in the Queen of Babble series and may have spoilers for them if you have not.
The Queen of Babble Gets Hitched picks up right where the last book left off. Lizzie has woken up in her apartment next to Chaz and Luke is pounding on the door. Luke has come to propose to Lizzie – and she accepts! She starts to prepare for her wedding but something doesn’t seem quite right. In the meantime, she is in high demand at Chez Henr More...

If you haven't read the previous two books in the serious, don't read this review. It may contain spoilers.
I luvd this! More than the previous two.
Yeahs ::
* Lizzie's new entourage. They were funny and sweet to Lizzie.
* I was hesitant to accept Lizzie and Chaz, but this book changed my feelings. I fell for Chaz right along with Lizzie. Kudos to Cabot, I didn't think I'd be able to accept it.
* Even though I would like to read more Lizzie, ever More...

I WANT ANOTHER LIZZIE NICHOLS NOVEL!!! Who wouldn't? The Queen of Babble series is exactly the type of books that completely envelop me into the world/lives of the characters. I'm always satisfied after reading something by Meg and she definitely didn't let me down with this one either. I finally feel that Lizzie has found exactly where she belongs in the world. Being with Chaz felt so right, even for an outsider. I kept finding myself wishing to read more and more and more of Lizzie and C

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched (Meg Cabot)
I have to admit I am a big fan of Meg Cabot. I enjoy reading her books, when I want to unwind and just enjoy a light read. The third in the queen of Babble series, Lizzie Nichols is engaged to her Parisian Love Luke. As she now earns money in her bridal restoration business, gets settled into her new apartment, she is moving on in her relationship with Luke.

I am a huge Meg Cabot fan. She has mastered the art of the romantic comedy and I can always count on her writing to make me literally laugh out loud. That being said, this was a cute book but not one of my favorites. As with most of her stories, it is a very light and fluffy beach read, but this is also the third in a series about the same girl named Lizzie, who in the last book became a wedding gown "refurbisher." She is engaged, but not to the on she truly loves, though this is no

The vacillating between Luke and Chaz at the beginning of this book went on waaaay too long, in my opinion. (Also, I could not read the name Chaz without thinking about how the girls on Go Fug Yourself use the name Chaz as a synonym for douchebag, which was pretty distracting since he plays such a major role in this book.) It seemed like most of the action in this book took place in concentrated bursts. (I know when it rains it pours, etc., etc., but are we really supposed to believe that Lizzie

This novel could be so adorable but some things were frustrating. First was the use of one profane word a astounding amount of time. Second is how many pages have to be devoted in her mental debate of Chaz and Luke. How hard is it really to decide who you really love? Another upsetting thing is that she is this amazingly talented girl who is really able to succeed on the business front and excell in whatever she does. Once she finally makes a decision between Chaz and Luke she lacks any cou

I can't say how much I love this book!! It's just so amazing and miraculous!! The twist is unpredictable and i just can't stop reading the novel till the end! Really, I'm impressed!
But be sure you read the previous 2 or at least the second one of the series (that's what I did) before you start reading this one, coz this is how the whole thing works.
So, this is the third and last book of the series. Do I want a fourth one? Definitely not. Why? Well, coz I just love the w More...

Queen of Babble Gets Hitched is a cute ending to a good series. Granted, it doesn't end quite the way you think its going to, but I was still quite happy with it all the same.
I know some people have a couple of issues with the way Meg Cabot continued the series in the third installment, but honestly? I think that QoBGH just might be my favorite. It made me laugh out loud, made me cry, and even made me want to throw the book across the room a couple of times. That to me means a go More...

A guilty pleasure? Yes. But every time finals roll around, Meg Cabot is a staple. She's fun, she's creative, she's fast-paced and unique. Lots of chick-lit authors get on my nerves--Confessions of a Shopaholic? Narcissistic materialism. It seems like chick lit authors and promoters assume that I have a shopping problem, that I judge other women, that I'm overweight and self-conscious or underweight and bitchy. That I need a man in my life to have a happy ending. That I will put up with ba
