This was a really good lecture series about the stars. I would have given it five stars for myself only because I had enough background knowledge to get a lot out of it. However, I am only giving it four because a person just coming in at the ground floor will be a bit overwhelmed and the lack of diagrams which do not accompany the audio lecture might be lost. Not bad but not deep. The section on coordinates is pretty good and the sky tour is fine for a newcomer. The science doesn't go very deep but there's a lot of time spent on mythology of the constellations. Here, Kaler is a fine storyteller.

Good primer on the Constellations, stars, and the sky, both historically and from a modern perspective.

Playful textbook. Poetic stories, mythology of the constellations. Genius, accessible, applicable introductory science. Taking it for night spins to heavens watch is a breeze.
