This book of three short stories are separate stories, yet contain the thread of common characters who are interrelated and/or friends and the notorious brothel called The Red Door.
Wickedly Ever After (2.5 out of 5)
Typical regency hist/rom, if a bit racier. An unwanted attraction between an outwardly wastrel rake- who is an heir to a dukedom and secretly a noble thinker- and a bluestocking, on-the-shelf heroine, the big misunderstanding, a shocking family secret revealed,...more

Like On These Silken Sheets, this is an interwoven series of novellas (three instead of four), and I really really really like this format, but probably only because these two are the only ones I’ve read so far, and they’ve been been well done. These aren’t so short as to leave no room for character development, as novellas tend to do, and I was invested in all the characters’ outcomes, particularly the last set. Unlike On These Silken Sheets, this is tagged “erotic romance,” which is fine, but ...more
I really liked this book alot. I don't read many erotic novels but this didn't read like what I imagined a typical erotic book would read like. There were some things I definitely did say ouch to while reading and the third novella in the book did give me quite a jolt (something about the hero)then I had to remember, this is an erotic. The characters are well-drawn and the romance to me was central to all three novellas that's why this is a must read.
I read this in one night because it was one of the better erotic anthologies! I was pleasantly surprised, because it was historical in nature, and that is not my preference by any means. But the characters were great and the story lines were fun and the sex was hottie hot! So definitely an easy read of three stories that will keep you warm at night. The characters made this even better for me because they were fun and funny and sexy.
These three tales are woven together elegantly and believably, but the real treat here is the variety of approaches to sex the author manages to squeeze into one book by use of this device.
Connected novellas are always a tricky proposition, but Barbosa does a lovely job of hooking them together but letting them stand alone. Interesting concepts for each story and intriguing characters.
Great tension with well written characters. A smart and entertaining book!
Well written stories
It's harder for an anthology to rate 4 stars for me, but this one did. Very worthwhile. The 3 novellas were related stories which always makes it a better read for me as well. Regency romantic erotica at its best.
