Shelves: read-in-2016
Despite the presence of a couple of clunkers (Aleister Crowley’s contribution is almost incomprehensible, though mercifully short), this collection is a pretty good one, with James Blish’s THERE SHALL BE NO DARKNESS providing the highlight (it’s the basis of the Abacus movie, THE BEAST MUST DIE). As with the previous volumes, the “black magic” brief is rather loosely interpreted, but variety is the consequence of that, so I can’t complain.

The fourth in Michel Parry's series of black-magic themed anthologies by Mayflower. The contents, and my thoughts on them, are as follows:

AT THE FORK OF THE ROADS, by Aleister Crowley. A story of demonic revenge. Crowley was one of the most infamous figures in society in the early 20th century, but you wouldn't know by this pompous and dull piece of writing. 2/5
