This is one of the best books I have ever read. Nothing will prepare you for the rollercoster of emotions that this book is offering. I have only one regret, that I have read this book in romanian language and the translation sucks

Posted first to Blog Critics as Book Review: 'Venom', A Suspense by Colin Falconer.

Nature or nurture. So goes the argument from time to time when looking for a reason for truly heinous acts. Could the question really be so simple?

In Venom by Colin Falconer, we follow the life if Michael Christian. Born of mixed heritage and loved from birth by his mother, he is unwanted by his father and has learned a hard lesson very early. With hatred escalating between his parents, he is abandoned by his moth

This was a pretty good book, and a quick read. I found the historical setting and main characters intriguing. While I was sad for Michel and what he had to go through, I kept hoping he would have some redeeming quality or there would be redemption for him somewhere. Unfortunately for him, the events of his life shaped for a twisted and sick individual.
The only issue I had with this book (an ebook) is there could have been better editing - something which seems to be common with ebooks. However,

Great book by Falconer. Another one! Thriller, psychological. This is fast paced and interesting from start to finish. The characters were so well done it seems as if you are right there. I highly recommend this. Michel was fascinating .
This is my third Falconer novel and they are all really great.

This book is so contrived and poorly written that I struggled to finish it and skimmed through much of it.

My understanding is that it is based on the true story of serial killer Charles Sobraj - well, if that's the case it is very loosely based.

“I was 18 years old, I’d just left school and got a job in London, working in an insurance company. I was working inside - in an office! My mother thought that was like being CEO of Shell Oil.

“I was late one morning, I took a short cut through the church yard to the station to catch my train. I’d just finished reading The Sun Also Rises the night before; and here I was looking at all these gravest
