Kyouhei is a capable director, but his arrogance and sluttish behavior are almost legendary. Kaya is doing her best to prove that she is capable in her work, but one night, by accident, she discovers his secret... of him ...more

The relationship between Kaya and the Director continues from book 1. While I know that the culture differences between women in Japan and in the US is different, especially in terms of the role of Secretary - I found myself chafing a bit against Kaya's selfless acts and began to wonder if she was becoming nothing but a doormat.

No. She's not a doormat, she's just a very loyal, dedicated and obstinate woman. The Director doesn't know what he has just yet.

Oh as a note - this book may be a bit too

oh boo, it's going straight into romancelandia

but i wanted more work stuff!!!

also i am feeling decidedly meh about the portrayal of women in this series, i understand the philanderer hero is a pretty standard archetype but mrr. i'm never sold on romances premised on 'oh but he treats me better than all those ~other women~!'

if a dude is a dick to every single other woman he interacts with, chances are high he will act so with you one day my friend

i liked that kaya insisted on finishing her job co

oh, the soft porn still pours off the pages,-just over kill.

the interesting vampire twist is that vamps can only mate with humans, and then have either full human or full vamp babies. Most of the time, they do not stay after mating-returning to the vamp clan. The director-as he is called, even in the throws of passion with his secretary blood bank, is in angst because mommie loved him too much, and stayed with his human father. Yeah, she left the vamp clan. oh, also vamps can only feed on the op

This manga series is for mature audience readers only. Oh my! While the last volume has some mature content this one is much more geared to adult manga fans. Office, vampire romance here we go!

In this volume Kaya is coming to terms with her feelings for Director Touma. However when his brother confronts her about it, her emotional turmoil over him causes her to change positions in the company. Kyouhei Touma sends her on such a roller coaster. He is cold toward her one moment yet desiring her bl

If I drool a little is that totally unethical? Lol. I don't know why my heart has such a soft spot for japanese animation culture. Seriously. Every drawing in this tells a story for me and I love it! <3 Smut smut smut all around.

The 2nd manga picks up pretty much exactly where it was left off. Kaya and the Director's relationship is continue on it's ever so strange spiral. Of course I can assume where it will go and I want it to go there for sure. It's the journey my dear. Haha.

Sometimes, feelings get you so confused that you don't know what to do. That's what happens to Kaya in this volume. She's a smart young woman, who makes a wonderful secretary for Director Kyohei. But, it's obvious that she has fallen head-over-heels for him. She's tired of seeing women streaming in-and-out of his office, with none of them--even her--being anything more to Kyohei than just a constant and consistent food source.

So, Kaya files for a transfer away from the man who will never retu

Yeah... 2 volumes in and I'm still not sure what to make of this one.

I mean, it's kind of sort of interesting...? It's just a boss x secretary story with a vampiric twist. Nothing to write home about.

I can tolerate the characters...? I don't want to slap them silly, but then again, I find myself rolling my eyes a little too often, even for me.

The art is pretty, but is there much else to the content here?

I suppose I should just be grateful that it isn't total instalove.

I think I might be better o

This manga series is kind of addictive. I currently only have volumes 1 and 2. I need the other volumes asap. I ordered the rest of the series, but sadly have to wait for them to arrive. I felt like we got to learn more about Kaya and Kyohei in this second volume. This definitely had more mature content then the first volume. I highly recommend!

Kyohei's attitude just annoyed me. I understand why he acts the way he did, but he just comes out looking like a unappreciative jerk who gets all possessive when he has no business acting that way. It seems like he's making a turn around towards the end of the book, at least, so I hope it keeps up

Well this was an interesting one. A lot happens. And there's the whole mixed signals going on its ridiculous. I kept thinking, OMG communicate will you? Then of course we have the title drop. And its only volume 2. Already the story is moving forward isn't it?

This is getting even more addictive.

Finally, Kaya is back with the director and he atleast accepted a little bit of his true feelings.

I think shes very selfless, a little weak but i like her character.

Midnight Secretary Volume 2 continues the story of Vampire executive Tohma and his secretary Satozuka. Now that she's successfully handling the workload of being an executive secretary (and occasional meal), Satozuka grapples with the heartache of arranging her boss' feedings while still allowing him to have a snack as well. But it is a long talk with Tohma's older brother that convinces Satozuka her position with Tohma

My Thoughts:

This volume starts out with Kaya still performing her duties as Kyohei's secretary as well as his sometime blood source. She can't seem to keep herself from falling for him which causes her quite a bit of emotional turmoil. She does her best to bury her feelings, but after Masaki finds out Kaya knows Kyohei's secret, he approaches her and gives her the option to end her position as Kyohei's executive secretary. She has a difficult time scheduling his trysts/meals with other women and

I am really enjoying this series. It’s so much better than I thought it’d be.

Kaya is getting so caught up in her feelings for Kyohei. She doesn’t take forever to realize it, though, which I appreciated. And then she doesn’t take forever to do something about it, either. It’s so refreshing seeing a female character doing something about her feelings, not hiding from them. On the other hand Kyohei is running from his, in total denial. And while I’m sure th
This is the second volume in the series and the relationship between Kaya and Kyohei continues. Kaya deals with feelings she didn't realize she had though logically knows she "shouldn't" have and Kyohei is hot and cold. There were some interesting things revealed in this book (about vampires and the Tohma brother's mother appearing). But at the end of the book I'm reminded of why I don't read Manga so much anymore - the fact that we don't really get a full "story" in one book and I'm impatient. ...more

I got into the series for a few different reasons - 1) vampires (which I have always loved and will always love, even when they fade out of popularity for a while, as always happens); 2) Kaya is a pretty strong character, which I like, and 3) I was testing out manga and this was a readable series.

Kaya is less strong-headed in this book, and she puts up with a lot of bullshit from Kyohei. Kyohei, unfortunately, has gone from alpha in the first book to alphasshole. He's completely rude and inconsi

Sensual and smart, this book doesn't try to slow itself down. The secretary and the director continue to grow as characters and make decisions that hurt the other, while bringing them closer together. There's a little more background about the vampires in this one, which makes it an interesting twist on what most people actually know about vampires. Also, it is easy to see why either would be confused about the other's feelings, as the secretary is loyal to a fault, and the director knows this, ...more

Midnight Secretary always warmed my cold heart, even if it's typical romance. The main character admits her feelings early on, they don't linger too much in misunderstandings, and hey, they actually got things done this time.

I do find it stupid the setting in moments, like "Oh, vampires need to feed on members of the opposite gender" to justify the Director's philandering ways, but I'll let it pass.

It's funny, it's endearing, it's romantic, and it's good for the calibre of story this is.

This series is so good!!! I really liked Volume 1, but I felt it lacked... something... BUT VOLUME 2! SO GOOD! :D I need Volume 3, but I can't get it until the weekend!!!

"No one can fathom how difficult or unbearable something is for another person. What one person might sniff at as "nothing" could scar another person for life. No one should be negligent enough to tell someone to just bear it." - Masaki Tohma

The story is heating up, becoming more erotic by the minute. Working for the Director is more complicated than Kaya had counted on - it's one thing to do her duties but offering her blood has become an offering of her heart as well.

Loving this series - though I caution this is not one for children to read. Intrigued by the addition of his parents...
