I thought this book was good and interesting. It had some good detail and a good storyline. Read this book if you want.

The Cryptid Hunters are at it again! Wolfe, Grace, and Marty are joined in this adventure by all the characters we met in the first volume, plus the addition of Luther, Marty's roommate from school. This time, the gang is going after a giant squid and spends the whole adventure aboard a refurbished ship. They've taken the dinosaur eggs with them to keep studying, and they still have to watch out for espionage and threats from Noah Blackwood.

Roland Smith's work is always thoroughly engaging, can

We first met Marty, Grace, Wolfe, and the gang in Cryptid Hunters . After a brief return from the Congo, it’s time to board the Coelacanth and head toward New Zealand in search of a giant squid called Architeuthis. Of course, Wolfe’s arch-nemesis, Noah Blackwood, is trying to highjack the trip and retrieve those things he believes belong to him: the Mokélé-mbembé eggs (or hatchlings) and Grace, who happens to be Wolfe’s daughter and Noah Blackwood’s granddaughter. Complete with wild animals, sp ...more

This adventure was filled with fun throughout the book, the scenario that i like the most , mainly because it had to do with animals and myths that were told about these creatures. As they discover and find out that their parents was lost from within the areas of the wild, they are now under a very different set of rules. i think that this book had a lot to offer, starting from the previous, this book i enjoyed as i sat around at night trying to find sleep. I had to finish with a good ending eve ...more

Tentacles by Roland Smith is the second book in the Marty and Grace book series. This book is full of mystery and adventure. Butch McCall is hired by Noah Blackwood (Grace's grandfather) to steal a pair of dinosaurs, either take or leave the giant squid on the boat taken to go there, kill everyone on board, and kidnap Grace (Travis Wolfe's daughter and Noah Blackwood's granddaughter) to take her from her father and give her to her grandfather. This is one of the best books I have ever read because it has a lot of detail and it was so suspenseful. It was more of a science fiction because of some of the technology they use and the creatures they say they have caught. Like a million year old dinosaur they found in the Congo. But I'd still reccomend it to anyone.

Neither as interesting nor as cinematic as the first adventure. This one seemed more like a set-up for volume 3. Some interesting developments with regard to some of the 'regulars'. Still, a fun read for those who like adventure, scientific gadgets & a lot of action and derring-do.

The much awaited sequel to the Crypid Hunters, this is a fun, fast read but by the end I felt that this was a bridge book - in that it was designed to bridge the first and third book in the series. Its good but doesn't quite live up to The Crypid Hunters.

Tentacles by Roland Smith is a book about a kid named Marty who is on and adventure to try to find a big giant squid with his friend Wolfe and is also going to inspect a type of dinosaur egg which still exists. So they go on their boat but the problem is that the boat is haunted. This book is a really good book and I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure.

The cryptid story lines of these books are really cool and I like how the stories flow from one book to the other. However, just about every character is a Mary Sue. Everyone has something they're amazing at (or several somethings) and something quirky (or "special") about them. The book also does a lot of "telling not showing" and things become repetitive as a result. I'll continue to read the series because I do like the story, but it just won't get as high a rating as it could have gotten.

Buchgestaltung

This book awesome. I liked the fact that they made it so that there was so much adventure, that it got me hooked in. The introduction was very boring though, it did a bad job to hook people in for the book. The description gave me images of what the author was talking about. The orb left me in awe for example. It made me even think for a second that it was real, but it is not. Overall, I liked this book.

Since the moment they learned their parents had gone missing in the Amazon, twins Mary and Grace O'Hara have seen their lives change dramatically. For one thing, they discovered they aren't twins, in fact, Grace isn't even an O'Hara. Wolfe, the crazy cryptozoologist uncle who is now their guardian, is actually Grace's father and she and Marty are cousins, not siblings. The reason behind the deception is Dr. Noah Blackwood, Grace's maternal grandfather. Blackwood is wealthy, world-famous and very ...more

This book is about two groups of cryptid hunters trying to find a/the giant squid that lurks underneath the ocean’s waters. This book will stand out for those who thought this book would be about oceanography but found out they were wrong after they read a few pages of it. This book is recommended for people 12 or up and for people who are patient enough for the action to happen. This book contains a long and boring starting sequence bu

Recently I read the novel tentacles by Rolland Smith. I would recommend it to some people because of the amount of detail that was used, the characters, and the plot.

I rated this book 2 stars because of its plot, which will be further explained later in the review. Also, the fact that is was a sequel alone didn't bump it down, but the fact that the book has no backstory, not explaining even a little bit of what happened earlier.

As I said earlier one of the good things a

Pros: This book is the sequel to another book that I read in 7th grade Cryptid Hunters. This book i think did a great job of picking up where it left off at the end of the first book something that most sequels don't accomplish. The book does offer a sense of unpredictability that keeps you turning pages(it had a series of conflicts). The book was enjoyable but it wasn't mind blowing. The plot was ok it had all the elements needed that made the book respectable. The plot didn't move to quickly o ...more

Overall this book has exceeded my expectations! The amount of action and drama is neverending and the question of what happened to Marty and Grace's parents builds so much suspense. This was a refreshing sequel because it is the first one I have read in a long time that has lived up to the original book in the series. Marty and his twin-sister-turned-cousin Grace are back for another adventure with their uncle/father Travis Wolfe.
