Kimihiro is a mystery even to himself. He has no memory of his past, or even of his beloved parents’ names. Neither does he have any idea why he is being followed by malicious spirits. But his boss, the witch Yûko Ichihara, knows, and in this volume many of Kimihiro’s secrets are finally revealed!
xxxHOLiC crosses over with Tsubasa, also by CLAMP. Don’t miss it!

[Ch. 162-180:]
It's so confusing to decide when the volume starts and when it ends. I have MangaFox telling me one thing, Wikipedia telling me another, and MangaTraders telling me another. I follow MangaTraders volume list. It seems most in-sync with Wikipedia.
It's so weird re-reading these chapters again. xxxHolic chapters are often so short so they can fit a bunch in just one volume and so much has happened over one volume.

This seemed to be more of a "lead in" volume to the big climax (which, judging from some of the story here, should be soon?). In Volume 14, Yuuko is particularly cryptic about Watanuki and at the same time reveals more about his identity...but in such a hard-to-follow way that it really didn't tell me all that much. Looking forward to more from this series, but this was definitely one of the weaker volumes (at least, for a first read-through).
Confusing but beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. It's becoming obvious that this series is heading for one mindfrak of a finale very soon, judging by how deeply recent chapters have gone into Watanuki's past and present predicament.
Random thoughts:
-I wish Himawari had been in this volume a lot more!
-Watanuki comments that he doesn't see as many spirits as before. As someone who also reads Natsume Yuujinchou, am I supposed to see this as ominous? Hmm.

XXXHolic is an interesting and unique manga by CLAMP. Watanuki is haunted by visions of ghosts. One day he stumbles upon a hidden shop owned by a witch named Yuuko. Desperate for help from the witch, he is tricked by her and is forced to work for her to pay off his dues. The shop receives odd visitors from different worlds and cities.
Wow, that was... amazing. Confusing as ever, even more than usually, to be honest, but still amazing. I didn't expect so much exposition in the last part. We finally found out a bit more about Watanuki, who/what he really is. Wow, I didn't expect that. But I probably should have. In the light of Tsubasa, it makes perfect sense. And it explains so much, all the loose ends are coming together. And I'm loving the friendship between Watanuki and Domeki more and more with every volume. I loved the pa...more
it's nice when it's a while between books in this clamp universe, because i always forget how insanely pretty they are. also, plot! and some insight into domeki's head!
I read this in the bookstore today. I was rather glad for the chance as my library/the inter-library loan hadn't (yet?) gotten this book. It took me a while to remember what had happened in previous volumes.
Parts of it were cryptic and this volume had strong overlays with other Clamp series. Unfortunately I hadn't started Tsubasa and only read the first volume of Sakura, so I didn't get some references. However, I liked the illuminations we receive about Watanuki and Domeki. It ...more

OMG! Watanuki's name explained. Big things coming. Cooking lessons.

Things feel like they are winding to a close in this volume as major revelations are made regarding Watanuki and his past, with big hints of foreshadowing regarding Yuko. This isn't a volume that is to be missed if you're a fan of xxxHolic.
