This review is only of Lucan's first book, which is translated here by Kit Marlowe. It is a wonderful and amazing history and argument for Lucan and beautiful translation for Marlowe, where his mighty line is wonderfully apparent. Even the translation mistakes, some deliberate, are interesting. This is one of Marlowe's least read works. Do not neglect it.

Rating only for Marlowe's translation of the 'First Book of Lucan'. Honestly, I didn't particularly enjoy this at the time but it might be one to come back to.
