This story has an imaginative premise and action and romance, what more could you ask for? How about a decent editor? I feel bad for Rebecca Ellen Kurtz. She was let down by her editor on her debut work. The numerous errors in spelling, grammar and formatting became distracting.

One also has to really work to suspend disbelief when imagining the characters. Kurtz struggles to give them their distinctive voices. Whether Norse, Celtic, or European, the voices come off sounding lik More...

This was everything it promised to be - Indiana Jones meets fantasy meets Christian lit. It was a fun, quick read and really gave me some things to think about. I had never before read anything about Nephelim, so that was intriguing... all the quotes from religious texts really enhanced the reality of these fantastic beings.

I found the characters to be well drawn and believable, even when they were performing super-human feats. Their emotions and conversations were right on. I don't More...

Romance, mystery, and fact collide in Sons of God.

Sons of God is a great read from cover to cover… it presents an alternate Biblical theory of vampires based on the Old Testament.

The mystery of Nephelim which are half angel/half human creatures unfolds in this tale of one nephelim's search for reconciliation with her creator. In the book there are references crossing religions and time periods which make for an intriguing read.

Kurtz weaves a world filled with uniq More...

Well, Let me start this off with saying that I enjoyed this book... it was different, and I liked that ALOT.

I was a religion and english major and I found myself thinking that, while I was reading this, if I was in class but daydreaming during a religious studies history class this book would possibly be the result of my day dreaming... With that in mind this book could have been ginormous trying to give the reader background info and teachings, but it wasn't. It was VERY compact an More...

This book is very different from the types of books I normally read. Firstly, I don't normally read Christian Fiction and secondly, though I have read other fantasy / vampire books they have mostly been Young Adult or similar type stories. This was not like that at all. I enjoyed the story for the most part. I found the beginning a little confusing and at times all the names that kept springing up seemed a little bit out of the blue.

I also struggles a little bit with the religiou More...

edit: tough start, but interesting overall. it was kind of confusing throughout the beginning, but worth reading..

edit: tried to start this book this weekend, but it just wasn't working for me...the first couple pages, with the "script" writing were difficult to read, as there was an "f" in the place of certain "s" 's .....i just couldnt get into it, but im definately going to give it another shot. i also think that my surroundings this weekend mad More...

This type of book is not necessarily my cup of tea but I found myself really drawn in by the characters. The story was well worth my while and prompted some interesting thoughts. The only thing that I found hard to deal with was the red type face. I found it to be harder on my eyes than a regular black and white book. I get why it was done but I found it difficult to deal with. All is all a worth while read.

An interesting novel, and an introduction to the world of Nephelims for me. The book was slow to start, and I was a bit confused in the beginning Prologue section, but once the main story got going I enjoyed the action and plot, and was pleased with the ending. I am a regular reader of Christian fiction, but have to admit that this was a bit of a new genre for me, being a bit Christian, a bit sci-fi, and a bit vampire too. The description of it being a cross of Twilight, Indiana Jones, and The More...

I really did like the book. I was interested in the subject. Actually, my husband is deployed and in Mosul, Iraq, where most of the book takes place. The turn of events for the love story was great also. I was more interested in the story than all the quotes. There is truth in this book. I did a little "googling" just to see what I found, and of course pictures help. All in all, I would read the next in the series. It was a quick and interesting read.

I was very surprised by this book! I found it very enjoyable and really look forward to the next one in the series. I learned a lot about the origins of modern vampirism and how religion ties into the mix. I would put this book as a mixture of the Pendergast novels by Douglas Preston and Lee Childs and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I like how Rebecca Kurtz mixed romance, history and the paranormal. Well done!!!

Sons of God is a unique book both in story and appearance. At first, I had a hard time reading it because the relationships of the characters were new to me and the point of view was not always clear, but the storyline was unique. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in this series.
