An angel is found murdered on the streets of Sunset Boulevard. To the media gossip mongers, it’s the biggest story ever. To the Hunters, an underground monster-fighting hit-squad, it’s just another case of ‘whodunnit’. For some reason this series is hard for me to get into completely. I read book #1, Dante's Girl many years ago, but remembered the gist of Kayla's story.

In The Last Angel, Kayla is now the newest and youngest member of the Hunters. In Dante's Girl, her fiance, Karrell Dante, was murdered. She had hoped that joining the Hunters could help her find a way to bring him back from the dead. She still has a lot of questions, but they are put on hold when an angel is found murdered on the str...more

At first it was a choppy confusion.

The story jumps from an angel dying, talking about saving 'her' then to a man (Karrel) with a group of 'Hunters'. They're searching for a vampire he loved who turned evil. Finally we meet Kayla Steele. She's at Karrel's grave. Like I said choppy confusion. So Karrel turns out to be Steele's finace. We do eventually find out how everything is linked but it should have been more clearer and better flow during those transitions.

I instantly liked...more

To the Hunters, an underground monster-fighting hit-squad, it's just another case of 'whodunnit'. To Kayla Steele, their youngest and newest member, it means a last, desperate chance to bring her murdered fiancé back from the dead, and to others with a far darker purpose it is the means to destroy the human race. If the Hunters are to stop the onset of Armageddon they must joi...more

OK here's the thing.... I liked the first book but this one not so much I have got as far as page 173 but I dont care what happens. The only character I like is Mutt and there is not enough of him in it to keep me interested and as for Karrel I just him to shut the hell up and get on with dying. The only bit of the book I can say I really liker was the Blackadder reference and this book made me want to go wibble. So I can say categorically that I will NOT be reading the third book!!

Just like the first book of this series, “The Last Angel” by Natasha Rhodes, is a smart and good to read book.
Humans, vampires, werewolves, angels and demons are the main characters in this strange story. There are too many secrets that we have to learn and this book reveals only a few.
It’s a dark book with some great scenes like the last one! I’m looking forward to read the next of the series! Natasha Rhodes is a very talented author and I like the world she has create.
