Legendary detective Sherlock Holmes is a byword for intelligence and efficiency. Not any more. Detailing some of his less famous exploits, including the infamous drive by dumpings of 1894, this rare volume covers a side of Holmes scarcely seen by the public: the real one. Only this collection reveals the mystery of the lingering stench, how Professor Moriarty didn't die an ...more

Fun for the Holmes fan, April 2, 2009

"I wondered how much more I could take of Holmes' moody eccentricity," Watson writes. "It was bad enough him keeping his tobacco in a Persian slipper, but of late, the habit of keeping his feet in my cigar case had been getting me down." So begins the title story, suspiciously reminiscent of Hound of the Baskervilles, with many ridiculous quirks. The collection continues through state secrets and lingering

What would my English teachers think???

I enjoyed reading Sherlock Holmes in the past. That said, I was intrigued by the concept of this book.

Sherlock Holmes and the Underpants of Death is a collection of essays, all of which poke fun of the Holmes/Watson relationship. Bathroom humor is the main theme, and I will admit that about halfway through I began to become bored with that aspect.

Sherlock Holmes and the Underpants of Death is a collection of short stories about some of Sherlock Holmes’s more unknown and embarrassing cases. As you read these stories you will think these are the most ridiculous cases but they are meant to be that way. They are meant to poke fun at the famous detective and his sidekick, Mr. Watson. Be warned as there is some crude language for those who are virgins to the language of swearing.

Author, Chris Wood brought the same type of style to his book, S

I was introduced to this book at a time when my interest in Sherlock Holmes has been peeked once again - and this is nothing short of by a fan for the fans parody.

Starting with an excellent and incredibly faithful comdey take on "hound of the baskevilles" (my personal favourite holmes story) the book takes us on an incredibly funny version of the holmes adventures which reads in such a way that you'll be lost in the imagery and have to stop and refocus to remember your reading a book and not wat
