I was happy to find a copy of the original edition in my supermarket's book fundraising table for $1.
The illustrations are so very meticulously detailed, yet very subtle. Sometimes detailed illustrations like this can turn into a swirling headache inducing mess, but these pictues use a great deal of white space so we're not overwhelmed with what's on the page. I probably like this a lot more than my 2 year old, but he does find a lot of little detail to laugh about. In a Paris department store...more

altijd handig om even te kijken wat ze over amsterdam vertellen; mwoah, erg stereotiep, dus ik ben bang dat dat voor de andere steden ook het geval is; de illustraties zijn leuk!
Well drawn book - I read an older version (1975) - lots of funny moments, definitely gone. Great source for "I Spy" game!
Stunning, gorgeously illustrated book of cities around the globe. The details are incredible. Very inspiring!

A children's book with highly detailed drawings of international city life, first published in '75. Enjoyable as an art book for kids or a picture book for adults. Or vice versa.
