Danielle The Book Huntress (Back to the Books)
If you don't like kids in your romance, this might be a hard sell for you. For that's a big part of this story. Billionaire, hard-working businessman, Jack Mason, has inherited his niece after the death of her parents (his sister and her husband) in a plane crash. His niece has serious emotional issues, and has managed to chase off every nanny Jack has hired thus far. Additionally, Child and Family Services is making noises about taking her away. His lawyer gives him one solution: marriage. Jack ...more

Day Leclaire wrote a very emotional story about a so-called coldhearted businessman fighting for his adoptive niece custody, a traumatic 5 y old girl grieving the loss of her adoptive parents, a sunny nanny filling their ice cold life with warm and sunshine, and lets not forget a huge dog and 6 puppies thrown in the mix. The story is captivating, totally told from the hero POV. I cried, I laughed, I felt. A lot. I loved them all and I enjoyed their HEA.
Inherited One Child by Day Leclaire was a 5 star read for me. It reminded me of some those old Leclaire's I loved.
Jack Mason is rich but he just lost his sister and her husband and may just lose his adopted niece. His niece was traumatized by her parents death and refuses to speak and nannies are difficult to hold on to. His friend suggests that if Jack wants custody he get married. Jack vowed never to get married since his father was awful to him but he doesn't want to lose Isabella.

My second try at this author since I loved the first story I read by her so much. The writing is really good. I think this author would do well moving on from the category romances. I'd certainly buy her books. The characterization of the hero was great. The story was told from the hero's POV. The ending was predictable which wasn't the case with the other I read by this author. Still the story flowed well. Secondary characters were also good. I liked the heroine's father as he was not stereotyp ...more

I really enjoyed this story. I love that it was told almost exclusively from the hero's point of view. His relationship with his niece was hard to take at first, but as they warmed to each other I warmed to them. I really enjoyed the heroine, though toward the end she bothered me a bit.

Overall a well done story.

Annalise Stefano was ideal. The attractive new nanny had quickly bonded with the little girl. And Jack was anticipating their wedding night more than he'd imagined. Even so, he couldn't have predicted that Annalise wouldn't want to become his wife. Or that the secret

This Romance is about a man looking for someone to take care of his niece Isabella. Jack lost his sister and brother in law. He was now fighting custody for his niece. His lawyer suggestion the only way he was going to keep his niece Isabella was to marry. Jack swore he would not marry ever.

Jack has his reason for this. You find out about it in the book as your progress but he was looking for a nanny for his niece and did he find a wife he could not let go. There are secects that get revel thoug

A very nice, actually extremely nice love story that embraces the relationship with a billionaire who accepts custody of his sister's adopted daughter and who must find a way to bring her out of the trauma of her parents' death. It is one of those warm fuzzy novels that is fun to read and yet isn't syrupy or overly huggy huggy, kissy kissy. The characters are definitely crafted out of real life complete with the governmental social services agency and the pressures families face in times of trag ...more

When. started this book I was looking for something short and sweet. Something to pass the time and light. This book is that and more.

The thing I loved the most is that it is from the MMC's POV. It is more common that it is from the female. Here, I could experience the development in the relationship dad/daughter in full.

I love to read the POV of the man, it is always so different and interesting. And it is so much better to keep the great secret in the hat until the last moment.

I want more book

Long live the Audible Sale!

Funny, sexy read. The scene with Madam is hysterical!! Go Annnalise! "Chocolate" and "Ginger ale"!!!! ROFLMAO

Okay. I kinda saw that coming with the hair and what happened at 16 and all. I'm torn about the little girl calling her "Mommy" at the end, though. I'm both relieved and a little torn because of her adoptive parents who perished prior to the beginning of the book.

Allin all. I goodread that was sweet, sexy, funny, and gut wrenchingly bittersweet.

The emotions involved in the story, especially Jack's love for her niece and the heart breaking way the author described Isabella's feelings literally made me cry with sympathy. The pain Isabella must have felt were clearly shown. This shows how beautiful familial love. It is disappointing to know that the present media all portrays broken families, with their mistresses, divorce and grudge and anger towards each other.

I ended up skimming through this book. The first 100 pages, including a case of near insta-love between the hero and heroine, all happened in the course of 1 day. It made it really difficult to believe in this relationship. There was also a big reveal near the end about The heroine's relationship to Isabelle and I found it all a bit too hard to believe. I really wanted to like this book but those were too big issues.

Really good heart tugging story that had me tearing up a couple times. Pace, romance and action all good. Billionaire Jack had a plan to keep custody of his recently orphaned niece by hiring nanny Annalise then seducing her into marriage.

Wacky comes naturally to Day Leclaire. It always has. Or maybe she's just a trouble magnet.

Or when she became the first kindergartner in the school's history to get suspended, after starting a glue war to the tune of one carpet, ten emergency haircuts, fifteen shirts, three pa
