The Fall of Lucifer (Chronicles of Brothers #1)
by
Wendy Alec
A sweeping epic of origins and mysteries, The Fall of Lucifer tells a tale older than the universe itself. Set in opulent palaces and frightening hell worlds, this is a timeless saga of doubt, of demons, and angelic warriors, of obsessive love and treason, and of an ancient evil that knows no bounds. Soon the universe itself will be rocked by war between three angelic brot...more

This book was chosen for my book club, so I will try my best to finish, but so far it has been a true disappointment. I don't like the author's style of writing; too many "translucents" and "sapphires." She also spent a great deal of time describing what was happening instead of telling the story. Painful.

This book really opened my eyes to God's true love for lucifer. I heard that when I was young but I didn't really think about it. Even though this is fictitious I think it has the probability of a lot of truth to it. It shows what before, during and after the creation of man looked like from heaven/hells point of view. Lucifer is brothers with Michael and Gabrielle and the book shows them in all their might and glory but when God creates manhood, something that doesn't have supernatural powers a...more

It's been about 3 yrs now since I read this book & I read all 288pgs of it in 3 days...followed by book 2 of the series over the next 4 days. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! BREATHTAKING! I found it nearly impossible to put down..I would get mad when I was just so sleepy. That I simply could no longer hold my eyes open. The extreme detail with which the author describes various places...like Eden, u feel like u r actually standing there in that Perfect Garden of Paradise created by the Creator of all,...more
Overall, I thought this was a good read. I liked the story, and the author's idea of what might have happened in heaven during the initial time of Lucifer's fall. The book also allowed me to gain a new perspective on the relationship between Lucifer and God. Lucifer's initial defiance was not a selfish move to gain personal glory, but possibly a move to protect God from his own creation of the human race. Of course as time goes on, Lucifer becomes jealous of man and evolves as the very definitio...more
Plot: This book is written in the perspective of the Heavenly realm. You read an account of stories such as Lucifer's fall from Heaven, the creation of Earth and man, the great flood, and it touches on the Birth of Jesus. It is written as one continues story.
Characters: This book shows a new perspective on Lucifer, that at least I had never considered before. It shows him as a lost angel who is consumed by his hatred for mankind. There are times when you can sense his remorse and his want to rep...more

The story is an interesting one. This is a retelling of the Bible from a fictional "behind the scenes" perspective. The entire series is slated to go from the time when Lucifer was an angel in Heaven through the events of the Book of Revelations.
This first book is the tale of Lucifer's fall from Heaven and how he became the Devil that we all know him as today. It is a story of pride and how it impacts our relationship with God as much as a behind the scenes look at one woman's vision of what Hea...more

Awesome book! I have to admit the beginning weighs the reader down a bit. It takes awhile to get into all the groundwork imagery. But once you get past all of that and get your mind into thinking of the spiritual world it really is a great book. It really gives you a perspective on what happened in heaven before Lucifer fell and what happened that caused him to fall from heaven and forever be damned to hell. It is fictional view of what she feels happened from her research of Biblical and just w...more
This book was recommended by a dear friend, but I was disappointed by it. I'm no expert - but it seemed to me that the quality of the writing wasn't great. I don't have much patience for descriptive passages, and I felt there were far too many of those in this book.
But it has perplexed me a little, and I think bits of it will remain in my memory. After all, the subject matter is of vital importance! One of my main issues with the book was that I found myself saying 'it/he couldn't be that terrib...more

I grew up in a radical Christian environment, filled with the Holy Spirit, but still there was a separation in my mind between everyday living and spiritual experiences. This book opened up my perspective of the dynamics of the heavenly realm and brought it to my heart. I've heard it called Faction- fictitious accounts based around fact. I know the Word and have heard of many, many miraculous accounts that line up with much of the descriptiveness in this novel. It brought the spiritual realm out...more
The description of heaven sounds like a shallow Paris Hilton acid trip. Diamonds and rubies and unicorns, OH MY!
The angels have servants, now who wants there to be servants in heaven? And why do the angels have physcial needs in a spiritual world? I mean, footman to care for the horses the angels ride? come ON!
Lucifer is supposed to be this ancient being but comes off as a whiny teenager having a hissy fit. For the light bearing angel he sure comes off as a dimwit.

Lovely prose with this one. Very clever retelling of the fall of Lucifer. For example it explained neatly why one planet in a single galaxy in the Universe would have caused Lucifer to rebel or why god who was omnipotent did not simply undo Lucifer's work and so on. It even integrated the stories of the bible quite well though I found myself not really believing the Noah Arks bit.

You can listen to the educated British man saying “Hurry”. The excavators would finally find “The Secret Annals of the First Heaven… The Fall of Lucifer – as recorded by Gabriel… the revelator.”
The pages to come would reveal the identity of Lucifer and his relationship with God and the angels. Lucifer was a guardian cherub, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. Although the book is an epic novel, the author has a very good imagination to describe the reasons why Lucifer fell.

In the time before there was time, Yehovah, God of the universe, lived in the First Heaven with a host of angels. There were three special, powerful archangels: Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer, and each of them gloried in His presence. They lived as happy, carefree young men, until one day, Yehovah announced he was creating the race of men. Michael and Gabriel, secure in His love, were amazed and happy with the new creation, but Lucifer was a different matter. Certain Yehovah had betrayed them, Lu...more
This book does interest me, as the premise of the story is very interesting, however, after reflecting on it, it is far too engrossed with christianity. The author co-runs a TV channel called "God Channel" or something similar, and unfortunately it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth while reading, as it really does in places come across as preachy. Yes, I understand that God burns brighter than 1000 suns and his love is infinite as is his wisdom etc, but you don't have to tell me this every singl...more
Love Wendy's description of the Different Kingdoms of Heaven and the Beautiful Palaces of the three Archangels; and the description of their majestic appearance & their relationship with God and each other; and the descriptive details of how both heaven and hell look and operate. Also, the story itself is very captivating but very entertaining too! A good read for anyone who loves Fantasy Novels; plus it teaches an important truth; in this war between Good and Evil.
An interesting book. The description of heaven and hell paints a spectacular image, however this is not supported by action, making the plot seem long and slow. That said, Fall Of Lucifer is well written bringing a fresh understanding to the old Christian story. if I hadn't heard the Christian story a million times before, it would have been given a better review.
I'm hoping the next books in the series are a completely new tale.

This is the first book on my "Abandoned" shelf. Meaning I have given up and set it on the shelf to most likely never return to. It is not often I give up but there is too many descriptive details that I fail to follow any sort of storyline. I get it, heaven is a beautiful place...rubies, emeralds, diamonds, gold, and a few mythical creatures such as unicorns...but it's too much to repeat over and over and over. Sorry Ms. Alec, you lost me from the beginning.
I love the subject matter and how she relates the Heavenly brothers to Earthly brothers. However, Ms. Alec like many Christian writers seems to think that as Christians we don't like grit or complex writing. Her writing style is very simple and at times very flowery. This subjext matter is gritty. It needs to be written as such, but the story line is a good one and I will see the series to the end.
I have mixed feelings about this book, hence why I only gave it three stars. The premise of the book was really great but it was frequently let down by the writing. I still enjoyed it, I just think it could have been more epic had the author gone into more detail and made the book longer. I would still recommend it to atheists and religious alike as it is a really cool story. You can't get more epic than God versus Satan!
Few books are written as well as this book today. Wendy Alec is not only a gifted writer but also a divinely inspired one. Her words touch and move you. My sixteen year old son read this book in one setting. Wendy's writings appeal to a vast audience with diverse backgrounds. I am an author, but comparatively speaking, I am not worthy to be on the same shelf as her books.
wendy alec does a nice job putting together a fantasy read of how lucifer may have acted and how he may have felt with the begining of time...this read also gave my heart more of a nudge towards God and how his love of humans stands strong. i enjoyed the read and i look forward to reading the rest of the chronicles of brothers series.
Looked a little weird to me at first, and was a little hard to get into, but way worth it. I don't think I've ever read a fictional story of the supernatural world that was this interesting, Biblically sound, and helped my imagination see a glimpse of how breathtaking heaven really is. Excited to read the sequel...
This is the worst book I have ever read. This is worse than most fic I have read. It is unbelievably awful. And she plans on writing six more. Lucifer has a laser mouth. And there’s science in heaven. Seriously, read it for the LOLs and the homoeroticism between Gabriel (The REVELATOR) and Lucifer. Hilarity.
Loved this book. I read it several years ago and haunted the author's website for about a year to see when the next volume would arrive. Without success I drifted away, and now I find that it has been around for almost two years! I ordered it and am now tearing my house apart to find my missing Fall Of Lucifer so I can reread it before Messiah gets here. It's been too long between the volumes.
Very Vivid fiction story about how Lucifer fell from grace. The author builds an enchanting story of family and then destroys it step by step. She makes you feel all the emotions of the split and fall. I read this book 3 times and each of my family members have read it also. A very spell bounding book.
Amazing book! Absolutely fantastic! The author takes a great many liberties with the angelic world through the advent of Christ but necessary liberties. There are so many things we don't know and Ms. Alec's vision of Lucifer's fall is compelling. I loved this book and am diving into Book II right now!
