Companion book to "Little Giants", this one covers the actions of the American escort carriers in the Atlantic against the German submarines, whereas "Little Giants" was a history of these ships in the Pacific against Japan. Covers every sinking of one of these submarines by the air forces on the carriers and by the escorts of the carriers. Has nice little stories of individuals and mishaps that enliven the story.

How the US Navy used escort carriers, which were carriers built on merchant-type or tanker hulls and hence too slow for working with the fleet, to hunt German U-boats in WWII. A quick and exciting read, not too technical, and a good overview of this sort of anti-submarine warfare.
