I am having a really hard time rating this book. I have up til now liked the Ferals. I am not one for public sex...not sex in a public place (elevator, bathroom, etc) but sex 2 feet from others, while they watch. Not unless it's an erotic story. This is paranormal romance, and I was surprised in the first book that the heroine had to have sex with her male while the other Ferals all touched her. Then in the second, the same thing, but here, in the third book...wow. The hero has been tortured and...more I am having a really hard time rating this book. I have up til now liked the Ferals. Enter Skye, a mage who enchants him with sex, and then uses sex to capture power to give to her master, the cruel soulless Birik. Well, even though Skye is as much a captive as Paenther, she still doesn't do anything to free herself. We find out that Birik started raping her at age 8 and allowed the other sorcerers to do the same until she started using her powers for evil. Okay, that's awful, really, I mean my God. But then she rapes Paenther. okay...just because the male is being taken against his will, doesn't make it any less rape.

And meanwhile we love Skye for her gentle innocent self, but still...

Skye finally helps Paenther escape, and he drags her with him, but Birik can punish her with beatings and torure without being anywhere near her. So the Ferals eventually trust her, and she can mate with Paenther but it felt hollow. I liked Skye, I liked Paenther, I believed their love for each other. but the rape scenes, while not violent, and Paenther "wanting" it, but still saying no...I mean I want to write Pamela Palmer a letter and tell her "No means no!"

and I may be overreacting, but it's hard for me to see a girl who was beaten and raped for 40 yrs or so willingly rape another.

I think the rest of the story was good, I mean I read the whole book, and I liked the main driving action, but I just can't get past the whole raping him for power for a mage she knows has no soul, and will never keep his word? Come on, Skye. Also, she is able to use her enchantress powers to save Vhyper but not Foxx? I don't buy it. It didn't flow.
So I have difficulty rating this book, and I gave it 2.5 because I read the whole thing, and it kept me interested, and I like the characters.(less)

After reading the first two books in the series (both of which I gave 3 stars), I was looking forward to the third. The build up to Paenther's story looked very promising in book two. And even though there are some eye-rolling moments, I liked this one the best of the three.

I have to say, first thing, that this is my favorite of the series so far. Author Pamela Palmer brought everything to this book. Sex, romance, suspense, drama, witty dialogue, and a great plot are just a few things you will find within the pages of the third installment in the Feral Warriors series.

I read a bunch of these books some time ago but just forgot to mark them down. The author's writing style is very fast as in, "Oh sad. My brother just got trapped in a vortex and his soul is systematically being ripped from his being. *sigh* But I got the girl! YAY! Wanna make out?" In that single vulnerable moment when his mind is open, she enthralls him. That's the second time the mighty warrior has fallen for a Mage. Dun-dun-dun...

Paenther regains consciousness only to find himself chained to a bed in a strange enclave. He realizes that for the second time in his life, he's been captured by a Mage, his mortal enemy. The beauty known as Skye, has him trapped in her dwelling, however she's not acting like a vile witch.

Skye is a Mage enchantress with a special connection to animals. Her gentle and fragile nature doesn't jive with what Paenther knows of Mages, so he's confused as hell. He still wants her with the same ferocity as he did before he knew what she was. When he realizes that they're both being used by Birik, he tells her that she has to make a choice – either help to free him and put a stop to the evil, or turn a blind eye and continue to be used and abused by her own people. She frees him, but at the last second, he kidnaps her to be interrogated by the other warriors.

This was the most complex weaving of the story yet. Paenther is still suffering from the memories of the torture at the hands of the vicious Mage, Ancreta. Pretending to be a woman in distress, she has captured his attention and then enthralled him. Her sadistic rituals were designed to separate him from his animal spirit. Like with a lot of other situations in this series, sex is involved because the mind is completely open and vulnerable during orgasm. So obviously his abuse was sexual. Thinking of that powerful warrior being taken against his will was heartbreaking, considering he's the type of man for whom honor runs deep. He never got over the anger ever since then.

Skye was a fantastic character. She was made the scapegoat for a good portion of the story, and every time she was met with resentment and hatred from the other warriors, it made me cry. She was incredibly brave, but then again I suppose it's easy to show some bravery when you have nothing else to lose. The budding relationship between Paenther and Skye was well paced, and I expected a lot of the obstacles that did appear in their way. They had the passion down pat, but the trust on his side didn't come easily.

When Jag and Foxx are captured, Skye and Paenther risk everything to help them and try to save Vhyper in the process. Those were the most anxiety filled moments that brought some disturbing news to light, and set some interesting events into motion for the future stories.

I'm going address something I've seen a few reviewers mention since book one - the sex in front of others (in front of the other Warriors during certain rituals) – I am putting that into the "it's the Feral way" category. It doesn't bare the same type of carnality or voyeuristic overtones that one might assume. First of all, the others don't "watch" to be perverts. Power is heightened by blood and sometimes when sex is included. However when it can be afforded, the other do try to grant any privacy possible. So really, it's nothing to be put off by, especially not if you've read certain BDSM novels where some acts are really out there on display. I don't see this as being a big issue, because some vampire stories mix blood and sex. Big deal, not.

My favorite book of the series so far. Solid 5 stars.(less)

Paenther has been tortured and raped by Mages in his past, several hundred years ago, and he still holds that anger and hatred of Mages. Skye has hidden her Mage eyes and manages to seduced Paenther and use sex and capture him and turn him over to her evil master Birk who forces Skye to rape Paenther so he can use the power from them having sex to create evil creatures from the sword that Vhyper has stolen from the Feral Warriors.

After a while Skye regrets her desision to seduce Paenther and use him so she helps him escape but Paenther knocks her out and kidnaps her. Paenther takes Skye back to Feral House and finds out about Skye's awful past, how Birk took her from her home when she was 8 years old and was raped until she would use her gifts of calling animals to use them for dark magic and how she is punished when she doesn't do as Birk wishes.

Sat in a cell in the basement of Feral house the first night Skye is kidnapped she is cut all over he body by an invisable knife until it ends and she doesn't make a sound through the whole thing.

Eventually Paenther realises Skye isn't an evil Mage but a good one and goes against the other Feral Warriors and helps Skye tap into her enhantress magic to help destroy Birk and his evil ways.

Passion Untamed is a pretty rough read in the sense that so much nasty stuff happens to the hero and the heroine and how Paenther eventually over comes his trust issues with Skye and falls in love with her.

What I liked about Passion Untamed is that Vhyper is eventually saved, as Paenther spends the marjority of the book claiming he will save Vhyper like Vhyper saved Paenther all those years ago when they were both captured by the evil Mage. And you find out who the real bad guy is in Feral House.(less)

This is the third book in the Feral Warrior series and was an excellent book. Allow me to define terms you will not be familiar with if you have not read the other books. The Feral Warriors are a group of 9 immortal shape shifters who protect their race, the Therians. Mage refers to the race of people who practice and use magic. The Therian and Mage races are enemies. This series needs to be read in order. Paenther was kidnapped in the previous book. Skye is a Mage and the readers learn very quickly that she has little control over her life. I do not believe one can call what she has a life. She has been abused and her magical ability has been used and exploited since she was a small child. I believe that it was the events in Skye’s life that made the romance of this book seem pushed. For someone who had been tortured and should require years of therapy she fell in bed and in love with Paenther too quickly and way too easily. I had this feeling that she saw the idea of a better life and jumped for it.
One of my favorite things in a romance is the pursuit. I like reading the how the characters chase and woo each other. I didn’t get that with Paenther and Skye. Their relationship just seemed like a convenient means to an end. I did enjoy the fact that as a reader I was given some history as to some why’s that I have been very curious over. The readers learn a lot of Mage history with this book. In the previous two books we know that the Mage are behind most of the problems that the Feral’s have to face, with the exception of the Draeden & Daemon Blade.

Couple of the sex scenes were a huge turn off for me. One of the characters did not consent and it involved a blood ritual. This creeped me out, it involved an unwilling person & an animal blood covered penis. I have read some other reviews for this book and it seems that other people read the scene differently.

I never know how I'm going to react to a series I decide to try out. Am I going to like it enough to want to continue or am I going to be over it and don't care to continue? Reading are genre like the Feral Warriors series is fairly new to me. You know, the adult paranormal genre with lots of dirty sex, lots. While reading the first book I thought that maybe I won't want to continue with this series after all. You know, the adult paranormal genre with lots of dirty sex, lots. While reading the first book I thought that maybe I won't want to continue with this series after all. But way before I finished it I was starting to really like the characters and wanted to know everything about them. And so far I've enjoyed seeing these fierce but loyal feral warriors get their happily ever-after.

Since the first book I've noticed Pamela Palmer going there, you know, read at you own risk going there? The sexual situations might go too far for some, although I'm not saying that I'm always a hundred percent comfortable with the graphic sexual scenarios. However, I remind myself that it's just fiction and creative licenses at work and don't take it personal or over-react. This particular book in the series really took on a-"thread lightly", topic. This one so far was a lot more darker than the previous books. In Passion Untamed rape was intertwined with sexual eroticism, even with that I still felt the pain and anger the author portrayed of the disgusting act. It wasn't pleasant at times but I still really enjoyed this book.

The focus was on Paenther, Lyon's second in command and Skye, a Mage under the control of a tyrant. Both have terrible past experiences that has held them prisoner literally for one and figuratively for another. Skye was continually raped while under the evil control of a sadist name Birik. Several centuries earlier before he was Paenther, he was tricked and kidnapped by an also sadistic Mage named Ancreta, who abused his body in hopes of breaking him and stealing his animal. Let me say that the sexual scenes between them was not always comfortable to read but I was enjoying seeing Paenther's and Skye's feelings and trusts for each other grow. Skye's defeated and hopeless outlook and Paenther's distrust of anything or anyone Mage was definitely a obstacle between them and no hope for any kind of future for them.

The feral's experienced a lot in this one, they learned to open their mind and hearts to see that the world isn't always so black and white. They also had some bittersweet news they will be dealing with in the future to come. I am really enjoying these books and seeing these warriors get their deserved good just desserts. (less)

ด้วยเหตุการณ์ที่เล่ามา ก็เลยทำให้พระเอกของเราโกรธ โกรธ โกรธ และโกรธนางเอก เพราะตอนแรกก็หลงเชื่อไปว่า นางเอกถูกบังคับให้ทำ แต่หลังจากเข้าร่วมพิธีกรรม (ที่นางเอกต้องทำ--- แบบที่เล่าไป) ซึ่งนางเอกใช้พลังพิเศษของตัวเองเรียกสัตว์ป่าให้ออกมาถูกฆ่าบูชายัน พระเอกก็เชื่อหมดใจว่า นางเอกเป็นพวกคนร้าย เราอ่านก็งงนะ ไม่ใช่งงว่าพระเอกเชื่อว่า นางเอกเป็นพวกคนร้าย แต่อะไรทำให้เขาแยกแยะการกระทำของนางเอกได้ ตอนแรก็ยอมเชื่อนางเอกว่าถูกบังคับ ก็เชื่อ พอจะไม่เชื่อ ก็เอาการกระทำของนางเอกอีกอย่างนึง (ซึ่งเธออาจจะถูกบังคับก็ได้) มาเป็นเหตุผลเพื่อแสดงอาการเกลียดนางเอก

เรื่องนี้จึงเป็นเรื่องแนวที่พระเอกอัลฟ่า ที่บรรยายว่าเก่งกาจหนักหนา แต่เอาตัวไม่รอด ถูกนางเอกล่อลวงจนถูกจับได้ จากนั้นก็เข้าใจว่านางเอกเป็นคนร้าย เวลาหนีก็ต้องลากนางเอกกลับไปที่รังของตัวเองด้วย จากนั้นก็แก้แค้น แก้แค้น แก้แค้น แล้วก็แก้แค้น ด้วยวิธีซ้ำซากจำเจตามแบบโรแมนซ์ยุคไม่พัฒนา

เราไม่หงุดหงิดเรื่องพระเอกเท่าไหรนะคะ เพราะแม้ไม่ชอบเขานัก แต่ก็พอเข้าใจได้ จะหาผู้ชายฉลาด ๆ ไม่ได้หาได้ง่าย ๆ แต่ที่ติดใจของเรามาก ๆ ก็คือ การเขียนให้คาแร็คเตอร์ของนางเอกเป็นเหยื่อตลอดทั้งเรื่อง

เข้าใจนะว่า คนแต่งต้องการให้คนอ่านเห็นว่า นางเอกเป็นคนดีเหลือเกิน ที่หลอกพระเอกจนถูกจับ เธอก็ไม่ได้มีเจตนาร้าย แต่ถูกบังคับ ถูกทารุณ สารพัดที่จะโดนกระทำ เรื่องก็บรรยายสิ่งที่นางเอกโดนคนร้ายกระทำซะชนิดอ่านแล้วหดหู่เหลือเกิน แต่ในทางเดียวกันก็ทำให้เรารู้สึกไม่น่าเชื่อในสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้น

นางเอกซึ่งร่วมพิธีกรรมกับคนร้าย ใช้พลังเรียกสัตว์ป่าออกมาให้โดนฆ่าเพื่อเป็นเครื่องบูชายัน เธอปฏิเสธไม่ยอมทำในตอนแรก แต่หลังจากโดนคนร้ายใหญ่ข่มขืน แล้วยังส่งต่อให้พ่อมดคนอื่น ๆ ในพิธีกรรมข่มขืนกันต่อมาอย่างเมามัน นางเอกเธอก็ต้องยอม ที่เรารู้สึกไม่น่าเชื่อ ไม่ใช่เรื่องที่นางเอกโดนข่มขืนหรอกนะคะ แต่เป็นอายุของนางเอกต่างหาก ซึ่งนางเอกเล่าให้พระเอกฟังว่า โดนข่มขืนจากตัวร้ายใหญ่ตั้งแต่อายุหกเจ็ดขวบ ก็เข้าใจได้ว่า ไอ้คนนั้นมันคงมีรสนิยมชอบเด็ก แต่การส่งต่อนางเอกให้ข่มขืนหมู่ในขณะที่เธออายุหกขวบ (ซึ่งเป็นอายุที่เธอเข้าร่วมพิธีกรรมครั้งแรก แล้วไม่ยอมทำตาม) มันไม่น่าเชื่อ คือเราเชื่อว่าคนเลวมีค่ะ แต่คนเลวที่ข่มขืนผู้หญิงได้ ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีรสนิยมชอบเด็กนะคะ แล้วถ้าไม่ได้มีใจชอบ มันจะทำใจให้ข่มขืนได้ยังไง

รู้สึกว่า คนแต่งต้องการสร้างนางเอกให้เป็นตัวละครที่น่าสงสาร คนอ่านจะได้ให้อภัยที่เธอหลอกพระเอก แต่เราไม่ได้สงสารนะคะ เธอน่าสมเพศต่างหาก ตกเป็นเหยื่อตลอดชีวิต โดยไม่เคยคิดหาทางออก ยอมทำตามที่คนร้ายสั่ง จากนั้นก็มายอมทำตามที่พระเอกสั่ง สรุปทั้งชีวิตจะต้องมี "เจ้านาย" ตลอดไปเลยใช่ไหม

อีกส่วนที่เราไม่ชอบมาก ๆ และเป็นสปอยล์ของเรื่องด้วยนะคะ ก็คือ การตายของฟ๊อกซซ์ ซึ่งซวยเหลือเกิน เราอ่านสองเล่มแรกในชุด บอกตามตรงนะคะ เราคิดว่า คาแร็คเตอร์ของเขาน่าสนใจที่สุด เด็กใหม่ในกลุ่มนักต่อสู้ผู้เก่งกาจ ฟ๊อกซ์ไม่มั่นใจในตัวเอง แถมยังถูกผู้หญิงหลอกในเล่มแรกจนทำให้ทั้งขบวนการเกือบล่มสลาย เราคิดว่า เรื่องราวของเขาคงน่าสนใจมาก คิดว่า เขาจะกลับมาได้ยังไง จะไถ่บาปการกระทำของตัวเองได้ยังไง

และคนแต่งก็เขียนให้เขาตาย ง่าย ๆ แค่นั้น

Most people give this series a bad rap because of the charters names. Well, to me they are at least easy to pronounce unlike most books.

This whole series has lots of rituals and most of them involve sex.. I myself like the different rituals in this series, to me its separates them form the rest of shape-shifting series or at least none I have came across.

I normally steer away from books with quite a bit of abuse. I don’t like pain or, to read of pain in animals or humans, this book has both....more

As book 3 in this Feral Warriors series, I enjoyed it so much more than book 2 (only problem I had in book 2 was the gory stuff against humans, was too much violence). This book really gave more history in different ways to the Feral Warriors and the Mages and what their history. Skye and Paenther's story. This book was so much better than the other ones. I liked that we got to know more about the Mage's and the past war with the Ferals. This book also really brought up the sex/steam factor by 100%, but there was also some past events centered around the main characters that are brutal in nature.

This one really hits all the emotional cords. Skye's enthrallment of Paenther brings back memories of the first time he is capture by a witch and what she does to him causes a rift between him and Skye for most of the book. Another great addition to the series. The main character, Panthear, has to overcome some hatred he has held on to after being held captive by one of the Mage. He meets Skye, who can empathize after being held captive by her own people. They realize they both have to learn to trust again, and that together they can overcome any obstacle.

Review:
There is a lot going on in this book - an abundance of twists and turns, revelations and shifting loyalties. A certain character, who shall remain nameless so as not to ruin the surprise, is redeemed while another is exposed as a traitor.

More details are provided concerning the ongoing conflict between the Ferals and Mages, and one particularly significant point emerging from the book is that appearances can be deceiving, and that representatives of good and evil are not so easily differentiated.

The characterization continues to be a high point in the series. As a seriously sexy yet tortured hero, Paenther belongs to my favorite category of heroes and his loyalty and devotion to his brothers contributes to his appeal. In addition, his internal struggle between his love for Skye and his prejudices against her race makes for a compelling read. Skye is an incredibly strong-willed and resilient character but the abuse and exploitation she has suffered for her entire life require a strong stomach to read through. Moreover, readers my find her initial interactions with Paenther, in which she seduces him against his will, a bitter pill to swallow. The relationship between the other Feral Warriors and their mates is also entertaining.

On the whole, Passion Untamed is a harsh yet absorbing book. There are some extremely difficult scenes that some readers may find off-putting but the intense writing style and emotional characterization definitely make it worthwhile. The epilogue is absolutely amazing and it also looks as if things are shaping up toward an epic battle, which should be exhilarating.(less)

The series is quite dark and violent and has been since book one, but where before the violence was always directed outwards at whatever foe the warriors were currently battling, this one had our hero and heroine forced to cause injury to each other. There were also disturbing scenes of sexual rituals and forced sexual encounters- I hesitate to use the word rape, because both parties ultimately submitted- but only because submitting was the lesser of two evils.

So it's this kind of thing that is sitting ill with me. It's definitely not a book that you would finish and then sigh contentedly at how perfectly everything is in the Feral Warrior universe.

Having said all of that though, I'm actually not sure if I would change this aspect of it even if that were possible. I'd much rather have these rich story lines, even if they are sometimes hard to read, than suffer yet another book that's filled only with blathering internal monologues from the leading pair. I can wholeheartedly say I am never, ever bored whilst reading Pamela Palmer. She definitely knows how to create tension, both of the sexual, and of the nail-biting kind.

We found out a lot more about the history of several of the warriors in this one. I hadn't realised Paenther and Vhyper had become Ferals together and were as close as brothers. It definitely shone a new light on what happened to Vhyper in book one and how much it would have been affecting B.P..

I am excited to get to Jag's book after seeing him meet his potential female in this one. That was an introduction the likes of which only the eternally annoying Jag could make!

When Paenther finds himself tied up in a cave, he knows that witch lured him into a trap. He should have known better then to trust a beautiful woman, especially what has happened in his past. When Skye explains to him what she needs, he is determined to boycott her plan. The moment she touches him he knows his body would betray him and do anything she wants. But when Sky overhears her master’s plan to release a bunch of dangerous demons, she knows she has to do something to prevent that from happening. The only man who can help her is the black Paenther she captured.

What I really like and enjoyed reading was the story about Paenther and Vhyper’s past, how they met and developed their strong friendship. I totally understood Paenther’s determination to find and save his friend in every way he could. Even when everyone believed Vhyper turned evil, Paenther was the one who fought that thought.

The characters are all fascinating, the scenes between Paenther and Skye were hot and steamy and the relationship between the warriors just fantastic. I know Jag’s story will be next and I’m really looking forward to that, because that jaguar is definitely my favorite warrior.
