A sweet story set as the third sequel of the series by Penny Jordan about the Lobardi family. Not as intriguing as it's predecessor, this third book is still creative with some of the outside plot wrenches tossed in - how she got the baby (the half-brothers rape), and her fear of her step-brother. Even if he doesn't seem wholly real as a person, Falcon is a good hero for the harlequin line. Maybe a little too narrow minded sometimes, and I prefered Alessandro by a smidge, but still a well-eno
Ok. I need to tell you that I almost dropt it in the very beginning cause I'm not a fan of rape and abusive relationship in romance at all. I can take it from some thriller or a book about serial killers but not from that.
But I really liked everything else. I liked how Falcon turned to be exactly the man you could guess he is from the mentioning of him in first 2 books. And how he didn't disappoint. I also liked his quarters. That tells a lot about him. Everyone says he is the one that follows
Both Falcon and Annie are decent, nice people. Unfortunately, their romance fell short for me. The "sexual therapy" storyline so one can be a full, confident woman is a dominant theme. I believe that love has the power to heal emotional wounds, but the way it plays out in the story is boring. There's no real conflict between Falcon and Annie, so the story lacks the deep level of dramatic tension I prefer. With that said, Annie definitely deserves some tender loving care after what she's been ...more

I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It couldn't have been easy to tackle the issue of rape. I also liked that the hero had morals and wasn't a douche or anything. Those kind of heroes always turn me off. But I have to say I hated the hero's name (Falcon! I think that's the name of a bird of something right?) I also have to applaud the author for realizing that there are other types of abuse than physical as seen with Annie's stepbrother Colin. All in all I'm pretty impressed with my first ...more
This includes one of my least favorite story lines where the heroine goes from one brother to the next. In this case, this is not a decision was able to make as the first brother drugs her and rapes her. Yeah, ICK.

His half-brother, our H, is horrified and makes every attempt to make it up to the poor girl and the baby. The romance is a sweet development. Toss in a bad step=brother and it is angsty.
The back story for this heroine is as follows: 1) from childhood on, she was manipulated and controlled by her step-brother, 2) cheated out of her inheritance by said step-brother, 3) drugged and raped by the hero's evil half-brother, 4) becomes pregnant from the rape, 5) her step-brother tries to force her to terminate the pregnancy and when that fails, to force her to give the childhood up for adoption, and 6) then she flees his control and becomes a cleaner in a luxury hotel, which is where ...more

An OK read. Not Ms Jordan's best effort. Interesting premise involving the heroine being roofied by the unscrupulous half-brother of the hero. Annie becomes pregnant and unnerved by the salacious attentions of her older step-brother takes her baby and runs. She is discovered by Falcon working in a menial position to provide for Oliver and stay far under the radar.
Interesting twist to the secret baby story. In this case the woman got pregnant as a result of a date rape by the hero's brother who is now dead. The hero finds the girl to make amends and of course, love ensues. Pretty fun story, with the added element of a possessive stalkerific step brother to round things out.

Wonderful. Falcon is a compelling man. The care he shows Annie and Oliver is great. The way he helps Annie overcome both the rape by his half-brother and the abuse from her own step-brother is outstanding. A very good read!

This was a great read. I truly loved the tension between the hero and heroine. The plot was credible and well developed.
