This book was cute, but pretty darn silly... and quite naughty!
Between the name of the pool place Charlie frequents, his mom and aunt's naughty bakery... Charlie and Eve's thoughts... The next-door neighbor (Eunice) who was supposedly abducted by sex aliens, and Charlie's cousin (Rick) who's a total horn-ball... I think sex was mentioned every 5 words, either directly or indirectly. That's a bit much for me. Plus, Eunice/Rick's... errr... adventures... were really... over the top and a bit scar...more

Genre: Romance
This book was a waste of time. It had none of the charm of _Nerd in Shining Armor_ nor the humor of some of the other titles in the “Nerd” series. I am usually very good at suspending disbelief. Not this time. I didn’t believe in the heroine at all. Didn’t believe should could be an incredibly successful model AND genius inventor all rolled into one. She barely pays attention to her career or her looks – they’re just a way to earn money. This philosophy is completely at odds with t...more

I love man with glasses, perhaps because I wear it myself.
So I was excited reading these nerd series.
Ini buku ke-2 dari seri Nerd yang saya baca setelah Gone With The Nerd.
Ceritanya sih lumayan. Dan tokoh ceweknya (yang pekerjaan sebelumnya adalah model) nggak cuma cantik tapi juga pinter.
Tapi entah kenapa nggak seantusias baca Gone With The Nerd.
Di sini agak males karena belum apa-apa mereka udah tertarik secara seksual. Dan fokusnya mereka akhirnya ya ke situ aja. Nggak heran sih mengingat tem...more

Book 5.
I really enjoyed Vicki Lewis Thompson's "Nerd" series. Writing that flows easily, with quirky heroines and not-so-typical heroes. Fun books who's main characters get in trouble in unusual ways.
I was delighted to find a romance book that had nerdy, geeky guys as heroes instead of the tall-dark-handsome cookie-cutter hero. Thompson shows us all just how hot and sexy those geeks can be. I mean, just think of the possibilities with a lover who is intense, dedicated, unswerving and pays a gre...more

This is my all-time favorite from this series! It was so refreshing to have the female protagonist be a nerd. Eve Dupree is a fashion model, and no one will allow her to step outside of that role. So she's turned into something of a garage inventor, and someday she plans on proving them all wrong. Charlie Shepherd meets Eve when something explodes in her garage as he's driving home from work. It's an apt beginning - their relationship is nothing short of explosive itself. I especially loved that...more
Let me just put this out there… a confession (that will be no shock to Nica 40). I like romance novels. As an educated and modern woman, I used to look down my nose at the trashy harlequins, the bawdy bodice rippers, the dime store dishes, the…. Well, you get the idea. But one day a good friend of mine pointed out that I was unduly biased against the romance genre. “How can you claim to be a thoughtful human being, all the while rejecting something you have never tried and know nothing about?” s...more
Lord help me from writers who don't seem to know anything about their subject. I got eyestrain from the extreme eyerolling that I did while reading this book. By far the worst in the Nerd series, the only one I found painful to read. I could have gone along witha model who's also a genius inventor, if it weren't for the fact that the author had her inventing not only a hovercraft prototype, but the propulsion system and a biofuel as well? One wasn't enough, she has to invent all three? AND she's...more
This was my first Adult romance novel that I've ever read and I have to say that it was tame in comparison to what adult romance novels could be. I did laugh throughout the book over the dialoge and the characters. The nerdy talk was hilarious and I didn't realize how engineering could be hot. ha. ha.
I read this on a cruise and it was a great fun light read for the beaches.

This one was pretty adorable. After reading 4 of these Nerds books by Vicki Lewis Thompson, it's clear to me that Ms. Thompson likes her men to have thick, tousled/messy brunette hair, that all nerds have problems with their vision (and that corrective lenses, be they glasses or contacts, are a key part of what makes them nerds), and that a good man gives his woman at least one orgasm (but usually 2 or 3) before fulfilling his own satisfaction.
That being said, I liked this one. :) So far #1, #2,...more

The sex scenes were great; I especially liked the aftermath of the first one in the kitchen.
I didn't think the suspense about who was stealing her invention was handled well -- I didn't believe that she wouldn't want to call the police and the ending, well, a little too pat and touchy-feely for me.
Other than that, it was a good, quick read.

finally..
i started this book a month ago. but i had a difficult time to finish it. kinda boring though the story was cute. i always have a thing to nerd. but as far the story goes, it bored me with the too much sex in every pages.
sigh-- i am just being silly. but i wont read the next book in this serie. once was enough for me

I was flirting with giving this two stars because I felt bad for it, but I just sucked it up and gave it one star.
This was a great concept that was... well... suckily realized. I know it's not a word, but it's accurate. I kept thinking it was going to get better, but it just continued to be... stupid.

This book was cute and charming, with a perfect dash of sexy. The romance between the characters had a beautiful charm to it, while being hot and even a bit "dirty" at times :). There was a even a little side story line with other charming and even outrageous characters. A great rainy afternoon read.
Totally fluff reading, and fun to boot! This is the fourth of Thompson's "Nerd" books that I've read this year. Like the others, I owe them to Jordanne who won them from me in a swap at BookObsessed.
This was a super fun ride! I liked this one a lot! I loved the over-the-top hovercraft theme and the nerdy tech sexy talk was hilarious! Great sex scenes and the neighbor was a scream! I also loved that this book had an epilogue! I wish all of her books had these and didn't leave you hanging sometimes. Fun, fast, lots of hot sex, original storyline to say the least...def recommend!
This is a highly entertaining series of novels. But can we call either character a "good old fashioned nerd" when they are always "ripped" and "toned". If the nerd is supposed to be the girl then she is always curvaceous and packing a killer body. Then typically we find out that both main characters are nerds, one a professed nerd and the other a secret nerd. Thats my big thing with it, the nerd is always ripped and winds up being the King of Lotharios and I understand that it is a cheesy romanc...more
Holy Hot Nerds, Ladies!!!!!!!! What a hoot! I have to say that my love for Ms Thompson's nerds started several years ago when I picked up Nerd Gone Wild. It was the first one I read in the series and I loved it. Now I have read other "series" books and have most of the time been disappointed by the ones that come after, but not in this case! I laughed, my heart fluttered and I felt all warm and fuzzy at the end.
I would STRONGLY recomend this book to anyone who enjoys a good lite-hearted read wit...more

No compelling story line, couldn't finish it, glad I got it from the library and did not spend any money on it.
I have read a few of the "nerd" books by Lewis, and I think that it is time for the author to move on.

Nerds #5 brings a new twist to the Nerd Series. Not only is there a hunky, nerdy, male lead, but the heroine is nerdier than her male counterpart! While that was a nice change, the plot in this one is a bit too far fetched, and it seemed to run on way too long, then ends abruptly. It was still a fun and sexy story, but not one of the best from this series.
