I edit articles with this beast beside me, but I have a love-hate relationship with it. For hard news journalism it's an extremely helpful reference; for long-form journalism it's a creativity MURDERER. Legit. A useful tool that has its place, I completely disregard it when its rules strip an article of its colour.

i still like this book even tho it may seem irrelevant in a digital era. The internet requires guidelines on how to operate breaking news. for example, during the tragic paul walker story, i found myself frequently checking over notes from this cp book. tweet but verify y'all.

A new edition for the new millennium. Look up principles, advances, broadcast writing, editing, story construction, taste, writing. You can buy it through the Canadian Press site.
