It was basically a game of cat and mouse and maybe that's why I was not blown away with Nathan and Julie. Granted Julie is a self-sufficient, independent woman, which I loved, she portrayed herself in a sense what I would consider the "woman scorned". Good book. After that last kink-fest book in the series (Sweet Persuasion), I can't say that I was really looking forward to this one or or if I had the will to read it if it was going to be another hard-core BDSM book. Thank God it wasn't! Not that there's no kink in this one, but thankfully no painful or humiliating BDSM moments between the H/H (although Damon and Serena appear and have their typical moment in the sun).

I enjoy Maya Banks' style. She writes lush, imaginative erotic romances that are hot, but also don't get my squick factor going. I was pleasantly surprised by Sweet Seduction, her latest release because it didn't feature a heroine in danger, which was a rut I felt she was leaning towards.

I didn't think that this book was as good as the first 2 in this series.
What I didn't like about this book was how crude and rude Julie was. Often times she came across so abrasive that I wondered why any man would be interested in her. She was even like that to her friends. And don't even get me started about her calling everyone a heifer! I hate it when people call each other that.

This is the 3rd book in the “Sweet” series from Banks. I haven’t read the other 2, but I have read several other books from Banks, and have enjoyed them all. This book had several of the things that I really like in my contemps: great friendships between the men and between the women (and between the men and women), loads of humor, great sex, the alpha male brought to his knees by his woman.

Since this was an ARC, it didn't come with a back cover blurb so the only first impression I had to go on was the cover image. That cover image was quite amazing, as you can see from the image to the right. That image, when combined with the title of Sweet Seduction, let me know this book would be on the spicier side. This time, first impressions were a great indicator of what was inside.

i didn't like Julie in the other 2 books and nothing really changed as we went along this one. i thought i liked Nathan alright till i kept reading about him. there is nothing wrong with him exactly but i just would have called him a wuss, rolled my eyes and walked away. there was nothing exceptional about him in any way. julie's only redeeming moment for me was her watching Serena and Damon at the club. i liked her then for about 5 mins. which may have been more because her previous attit...more
I've put this off for so long and now that I've read one of Maya Banks's works, I remembered why. I'm really partial to characters mutual pleasure and I noticed that the hero gets attention most of the time. I gave this a 4 because it was a light and fun read.

i haven't read romance novels since i was a teenager and reading them just for the sex scenes. well, ten years later, the sex scenes are actually hotter (no "rearing manhood" and other cheesy euphemisms here, thankfully).
i like that this book defies a lot of the stereotypes of romance novels. the heroine isn't blonde, thin, shy and girly- she's curvy, brunette, owns her sexuality, and she's brassy and confident. Julie s...more

This story...I just don't know. I was compelled to read it. So that alone gives it 3 stars. And it left me wanting to read the next one...I love authors smart enough to weave story lines together and Maya Banks does a good job.

I can't believe how disappointed I was with this one. Micah was total ass. I am not even sure ass is strong enough to convey how awful he was. I don't care how emotionally messed up he was, Angelina was like family and he just abandoned her over and over again. Any why was she such a doormat? Much better than the previous book in this series. Hint...you really do have to read this series in order. I enjoyed this one much more. I liked Nathan and Julie...he really was "sweet". Had a better story and I actually felt the attraction and passion between them. Wow, pornography in book form, I should have guessed by the back of the book under the title an "Erotic Romance" but who would have thought to this level. I have to admit that the underlying story was not bad although a little soap opera-ish and not something I would normally read at least not without a little push. Would I read it again? I think I would although I may need to read the two preceding books so I understand all of the relationships between the other characters.
