He was the stuff erotic dreams are made of

Salon owner Julie Stanford wanted Nathan Tucker ever since she gave him his first massage. Getting paid to feel every inch of his body, stripped, oiled, and spread out in front of her? Stuff dreams are made of. But the sexy guy was oblivious to the signals she was sending-until she finished off his final rub- down with something ...more

Genre: Contemp Erotic Romance
Series: 3rd in the Sweet Series (ongoing)

Ramblings: If you have read the previous 2 books in this series, then you know that Julie, our mouthy zaftig heroine (that is so NOT her body on the cover), has the hots for bald & goateed Nathan. She’s been trying to peak his interest by pushing her Double D’s in his face whenever he comes to her parlor for a massage. To no avail. This is their story.

When the book begins, things comes to a head. ...more

It was basically a game of cat and mouse and maybe that's why I was not blown away with Nathan and Julie. Granted Julie is a self-sufficient, independent woman, which I loved, she portrayed herself in a sense what I would consider the "woman scorned". After flirting and putting herself out there(tata's and all)to try and gain Nathan's attention (only to be ignored) Julie decides she's going to give him a "send off" he will never forget to show him what he's missed. Now Natha...more

“Ho-Hum Story, But With a Teaser of Things to Come!”

The Plot: The third book in Maya Banks’s Sweet series tells Julie’s story. A good friend of Faith’s and Serena’s, Julie is a local salon owner who is infatuated with Faith’s colleague Nathan. Nathan is entirely oblivious to Julie’s advances until she literally strong-arms him (or his dick, that is) into submission.

Zelda’s Take: This might be my least favorite of the Sweet series to date, but there’s enough of a teaser in...more

This is the third book in the "Sweet" series that, so far, has dealt with three friends - Faith (Sweet Surrender), Serena (Sweet Persuasion), and now Julie - and since the story revisits the other characters and their relationships, you do need to read these books in order to get the most out of them.

Julie Stanford owns her own salon where she gives great massages. She's been half in love with one of her clients ever since he first walked in for a massage - Nathan, who work...more

Good book. After that last kink-fest book in the series (Sweet Persuasion), I can't say that I was really looking forward to this one or or if I had the will to read it if it was going to be another hard-core BDSM book. Thank God it wasn't! Not that there's no kink in this one, but thankfully no painful or humiliating BDSM moments between the H/H (although Damon and Serena appear and have their typical moment in the sun).

This one was about salon owner/massage therapist Julie Stanf...more

I enjoy Maya Banks' style. She writes lush, imaginative erotic romances that are hot, but also don't get my squick factor going. I was pleasantly surprised by Sweet Seduction, her latest release because it didn't feature a heroine in danger, which was a rut I felt she was leaning towards.

Julie Standford owns a successful salon. She's a woman who knows what she wants. And she wants her favorite massage client, Nathan Tucker. She's given him every green light she knows how to give, and.....more

Third in the Sweet erotic romance series revolving around the employees and their friends in Pop's security firm in Houston, Texas.

The Story
That's it! Julie is through waiting for Nathan to ask her out. She intends to give him one more massage...that he'll never forget and she'll never see him again. Hah! She'll get Damon to help her fulfill her own fantasy. A Julie sandwich with total anonymity.

Only, Julie reckons without Damon's soft heart and Nathan's sudden fears...

I didn't think that this book was as good as the first 2 in this series.

What I didn't like about this book was how crude and rude Julie was. Often times she came across so abrasive that I wondered why any man would be interested in her. She was even like that to her friends. And don't even get me started about her calling everyone a heifer! I hate it when people call each other that.

What I did like about the book was some of Julie's actions. I loved it when she final...more

This is the 3rd book in the “Sweet” series from Banks. I haven’t read the other 2, but I have read several other books from Banks, and have enjoyed them all. This book had several of the things that I really like in my contemps: great friendships between the men and between the women (and between the men and women), loads of humor, great sex, the alpha male brought to his knees by his woman.

Nathan and Julie have been hot for each other for a long time. Julie finally gets tired of Nat...more

If she wanted his attention, she'd certainly gotten it in a big way.
- Nathan
What do you mean, I've ignored her for weeks? Do you know how impossible it is to ignore that woman? I'd have to be blind, deaf and dumb not to notice.
- Nathan
Dumbass. Complete and utter moron. If all men were as stupid as you, the world would have a population crisis
- Faith
You've lost your chance, and moreover, you don't deserve her.

Since this was an ARC, it didn't come with a back cover blurb so the only first impression I had to go on was the cover image. That cover image was quite amazing, as you can see from the image to the right. That image, when combined with the title of Sweet Seduction, let me know this book would be on the spicier side. This time, first impressions were a great indicator of what was inside.

Many might wonder, “Why an image of a woman alone?” Once you've read the book, you'll understand...more

i didn't like Julie in the other 2 books and nothing really changed as we went along this one. i thought i liked Nathan alright till i kept reading about him. there is nothing wrong with him exactly but i just would have called him a wuss, rolled my eyes and walked away. there was nothing exceptional about him in any way. julie's only redeeming moment for me was her watching Serena and Damon at the club. i liked her then for about 5 mins. which may have been more because her previous attit...more

I've put this off for so long and now that I've read one of Maya Banks's works, I remembered why. I'm really partial to characters mutual pleasure and I noticed that the hero gets attention most of the time. I gave this a 4 because it was a light and fun read.

Julie and Nathan had serious miscommunication issues and it's good to see how the other characters' lives (Faith and Gray, Serena and Damon) go on, and they also get an update. Julie and Nathan's love story is a conflict waiting...more

hey, it's summer reading... don't judge :P

i haven't read romance novels since i was a teenager and reading them just for the sex scenes. well, ten years later, the sex scenes are actually hotter (no "rearing manhood" and other cheesy euphemisms here, thankfully).

i like that this book defies a lot of the stereotypes of romance novels. the heroine isn't blonde, thin, shy and girly- she's curvy, brunette, owns her sexuality, and she's brassy and confident. Julie s...more

I’m still trying to work out how exactly to review this. So, I am going to follow my old, old advice – when in doubt – make a list! So this list. It’s going to start with a 1). Are you ready? And so we begin!

1) This book is an erotica and damn, I mean DAMN! Is this book hot! I’m serious. My favourite scene would have had to have been the first scene, like I said before damn, damn that scene left me speechless, I loved it (yeah, I’m a bit of a pervert :P).
2) The characters wer...more

This story...I just don't know. I was compelled to read it. So that alone gives it 3 stars. And it left me wanting to read the next one...I love authors smart enough to weave story lines together and Maya Banks does a good job.

But this book, looking back. Really? Nathan nearly falls into the TSTL category. On the one hand, he has this whole mental train of thought about how he doesn't really know how women's minds work and he's tentative at best, unless there's a blind fold inv...more

I can't believe how disappointed I was with this one. Micah was total ass. I am not even sure ass is strong enough to convey how awful he was. I don't care how emotionally messed up he was, Angelina was like family and he just abandoned her over and over again. Any why was she such a doormat? Normally, I don't can get into these types of stories but for some reason this one just didn't do it for me. The sex was edgy and there are very strong elements of BDSM but that didn't bother me at all. The...more

This series has fallen into a soap opera worthy story line. I really like that. It’s nice to read about the relationships from the prior books.

Sweet Seduction is story about Julie and Nathan. Their relationship is different from the previous ones.

Although some of the scenes in this book were outstanding, I really wasn’t impressed. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the author, Maya Banks. As with any writer, sooner or later they will create a book that just d...more

Julie is a very strong woman who knows exactly what, or better said who she wants. She’s stubborn as hell and doesn’t want to back down. Her ideas are sometimes a bit over the top but she makes them come true nonetheless. Julie runs from one extreme into the next but she won my heart with her sassy attitude and her witty comments. She’s a very reliable person and full of love for her friends. She has character, a very strong one and men seem to be afraid of it. But who is Julie to change herself...more

Julie Stanford feels like a woman scorned since Nathan Tucker has never acted on the signals that she has given him, despite the fact that she has been massaging his nude body for the past few months. She gives him a blowjob with her final massage of him and moves on to greener (or at least more populated) pastures. He wakes up and decides that he is not going to let her get away but the challenge is to get back into her good graces again. A couple of trips to the sex club The House changes t...more

**2.5 Stars for Sweet Seduction**

I didn't realize this was the 3rd book in a series. I don't think they are meant to be read individually. There was a lot of characters thrown at me whom I didn't know. There was also some type of sex house where all your fantasies could come true but it was never really explained. Even if it was, it would still seem silly to me. The whole book gave me a cheap vibe. The female characters reminded me of "The Girls Next Door" kind of gals...more

I don't know about this book. It was just ok for me cause I just never could really like Julie. I didn't dislike her but she was just too abrasive and stubborn for me. I didn't like how she treated Nathan who I really liked.
I loved the side stories especially between Gray and Faith. Mercy, I must say that Micah gets a lot of action with everyone but I'm a little scared to read his story. He is so dark that I'm wondering if his story will go way past my comfort level. I ...more

Much better than the previous book in this series. Hint...you really do have to read this series in order. I enjoyed this one much more. I liked Nathan and Julie...he really was "sweet". Had a better story and I actually felt the attraction and passion between them. I also enjoyed this book in the series because She really brought the characters from the previous two books into this one. We get to hear how they are doing and she had whole chapters dedicated to these other characters......more

I was really looking forward to this story because of the teasers & groundwork that given to us in the previous book. Nathan & Julie were such real characters in their demeanor & personalities, that I felt like I was reading a true-story.

Nathan - the nervous, non-confident, anxious & clueless male when faced with an assertive female who knows what she wants. Even though it turned him on, he was still unsure of how to approach & deal with Julie.

Julie Stanford had always has the hots for Nathan Tucker, but he doesn’t seem to realize it. So Julie decides to give Nathan one more chance to take the bait before giving up on him completely. Her two best friends Faith and Serena have already put her in contact with Damon Roche, to fulfil her sexual fantasy.

Sweet Seduction mainly tells the story of Julie Stanford and Nathan Tucker. A story which starts when in the first book of this series, SWEET SURRENDER, when Nathan decides he wants an earring to go with his new bald head and Faith (heroine of book 1) takes him to the beauty and massage parlor owned by Julie to have the job done. After the earring he decides to frequent Julie’s salon for her massages. He doesn’t know that while he love struck but too shy to act on it, despite her not so subtle h...more

Wow, pornography in book form, I should have guessed by the back of the book under the title an "Erotic Romance" but who would have thought to this level. I have to admit that the underlying story was not bad although a little soap opera-ish and not something I would normally read at least not without a little push. Would I read it again? I think I would although I may need to read the two preceding books so I understand all of the relationships between the other characters.
