Oh wow, this so wasn't what I was expecting...

Natalie's a lawyer from Chicago, working in her rich father's law office for the past 10 years, handling the most mundane cases. Natalie's not challenged by her work or her life. Her parents want her to marry 'well' and start a family, but she wants more. But what? When she comes across a brochure advertising a remote Pacific island paradise where she can explore all her sexual fantasies, she's game. This may be just what she needs. She's got the mon

Not what I was expecting. Too much sex and not enough plot at first. Though the story really picked up when Malachi entered the picture. I really liked him and Natalie. Boy that Rose was a major bitch. A few twists that were surprising. Enjoyable just not that great.

I loved the book!!! It had a very complicated, romantinc, sexy, wild, breathtaking, touching story. I am addicted to Malach and Natalie's relationship and story. Malachi was kind, smart, delicated, emotional about Natalie and his companions,...and Natalie was anxious, determinated and ready for everything, sweet, gentle... They made a perfect couple. I was so excited that I cried in the end. Amazing!! I hadn't read a story like that until now. I think the author's great. Lorie O' Clare must have ...more

You are going to laugh at me but this is what having a Kindle is like so I'll share: it's late at night and I'm thinking, I wonder if the Gate at the Stairs is available on Kindle? - so I search Lorie Moore (actually it's Lorrie-double-r but I didn't remember that) and instead this steamy romance novel comes up...aaaaand sold.

The Kindle turns books into an impulse purchase in a way that video-on-demand in hotel rooms turned movies into an impulse purchase. Now lonely business travelers have cho

There are no words for how cheesy and ridiculous. (view spoiler) I was not impressed at all, although I did manage to finish it. The climax was vague and rushed; I have no idea how problems were resolved on the island. The HEA was implausible. The heroine was annoyingly nosy and never really got called on it, cause the hero thought she was hawt-stuff. ...more

I was a bit skeptical at first. I bought this book on Kindle after reading a review which refused to spoil the plot by revealing a twist that happens early in the book (Yeah I know, curiosity killed the cat.)
I was surprised that the book actually did hold my attention. I seriously thought it would just bee a porn book, but it did have a story line and it was cheesy and predicable.
All in all I recommend it if your after something a bit hot and steamy with a few twists and turns (not of the physic

Another one bites the dust. I couldn't finish this book. I have tried, but just couldn't get into after the first 90 or so pages. The first 90 pages were great and the book had potential. I got to page 190 or so and just couldn't get back into the story. I think what blew it for me was that you found out the mystery in the fist 60 pages or so then the rest of the story you know the big secret. For me that ruined it. From there the plot just seemed to drag out.

This one had potential, but the author blew it in the very beginning and revealed way too much. It was a good quick read if you're just waiting for something else to be released. It was good enough that I would give the author another try and read another of her books, but I think I will likely get it from the library rather than spending my hard earned $ on it.

Weird but good but weird. I don't know it started out interesting, and it's hard to give another author a low rating it just didn't do it for me, but it had a happy ending so that was really good otherwise I would have nixed this with one star but it had an interesting concept with twists.

Ok story, it is an erotica book so I was not expecting a great plot. It was a simple read after reading a much more daunting book in Dracula. The story is not really believable but that is not the point of a book like this.

uhm, mixed feelings about this one. haha. It's intense. It's fun, sometimes. It'll make you think, yeah. And yeah it kinda reminded me about Lars and The Real Girl, but only because you know...the dolls. :P

This book had a good base story. Androids that were built to be companions on an island for sex. The new androids that were built ended up turning on their creator and he had to destroy the island.
