I recently completed this on a suitably dark and stormy night, cloistered from the elements in a small wooden hut with screens for walls and candles for lighting. Even without such an atmospheric backdrop it will prove a most edifying read to fans of good writing, an original work reminiscent--but never derivative-of the best supernatural action/horror yarns. There isn't much space for chapbooks and novellas in the publishing today. That's unfortunate because they're the perfect length to tell certain stories.
