Gotcha!
Macy Tucker was five years old when her beloved grandfather dropped dead in his spaghetti. At twelve, her father left his family in the dust. At twenty-five, her husband gave his secretary a pre-Christmas bonus in bed, and Macy gave him the boot. To put things lightly, men have been undependable.

I liked this book. The writing was tight and there was much more showing than telling. There were several very amusing parts and the tone of the book stayed consistant throughout without being in any way farcical. The characters were well drawn and believable as were the interesting minor characters.
The plot made sense and I liked that the story resolved around a smaller crime than terrorists or serial killers. The plot was also one where I didn't guess all of the answers from the beginning. Th...more

Macy has never been able to rely on the men in her life! So she has been extra careful in helping her mom raise her younger brother so he could grow up to be a dependable man in spite of his family members. But he was at the wrong place at the wrong time and got himself locked up from burglary, and now Macy feels like she truly has failed at everything, failed at her marriage, raising her brother, and her college education. Now at 25m she is working as a pizza delivery girl to put herself throug...more
I love reading Christie Craig. This is her fourth book and she’s not once let me down when it comes to plot, characters, and especially humor. She’s a terrific new author and Love Spell/Dorchester is lucky to have her.
The main draw for me to Christie’s books is her humor. I find myself laughing out loud throughout the entire book. An example in Gotcha! is when the hero, Jake, a police detective, gets a lesson in not pushing a woman too far when she’s trying to save embarrassment on both sides wh...more

Macy Tucker (aka Pizza Girl) was a struggling law student delivering pizzas to pay her bills. She had several problems: her brother Billy had screwed up again. This time landing his butt in prison for something he swears he didn't know about. He has also escaped said prison again, doing something that wasn't his fault. What to do? Her history with men, relatives or ex-husbands, wasn't stellar: Grandpa promised to take her to the circus and "dropped dead in his spaghetti. at twelve, he father lef...more
This is a well written book that I totally enjoyed. I have read other books by this author and will continue to do so.

This is the very first book by Ms Craig that I've had problems with. While the story line is quite interesting, the execution is a little tedious. This is by no means the fast paced novel with witty dialogue and humorous situations that we are used to. This novel has some darker themes than Ms Craig usually writes about and she tries just a little too hard to get us to beleive how unhappy Macy (our heroine) is. Ms Craig also is using the same plot ideas to make the men look bad to the heroines....more
I wish I had liked this book more.
Macy Tucker has had men desert her all her life (although, grandfather dying?, come on, like he had a choice with that. She's old enough to know better. There was her dad as well and he actually left. Though that was good riddance, so I really did not connect to this character.) Her brother has just broken out of jail and his girlfriend's ex, who has also broken out, has threatened to hurt/kill Macy.
Jake Baldwin is on the case. He's not a Homicide cop but he's o...more

I'm very surprised by this book. And not in a good way. I enjoyed the overall story line, however I would expect an author from the NY Times best seller list to have produced a better proof-read and edited book. The author and the publisher should both be embarrassed with the many spelling/punctuation and editing mistakes that were allowed to pass. If I had purchased this as a physical book (as opposed to downloading the ebook to my Nook) I would have red-penned the hell out of it and sent it st...more

I must confess I wouldn't have tried this book if it wasn't for a friend's review and that would have been my bad because the book was totally wacky fun especially Macy who could be as stubborn as a mule and Jake one of the most delicious and loving heroes.

Ok, I admit it. I enjoyed this contemporary romance. Some might consider the humor as stupid-funny. It begins with Ellie Chandler, a somewhat chubby, gorgeous, and 'stacked' lady who wants to report a possible murder. She has just met Sgt. Jake Baldwin of the local police department. Unfortunately when she opens her mouth her voice comes "out two octaves above chalk screeching across a blackboard". And she is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Macy Tucker has never had the best luck with men. First her grandfather drops dead in his spaghetti, then her father abandons their family, and then Macy catches her husband cheating on her. To top it all off, her well meaning but not always thinking brother, Billy, winds up in prison and steals a violent inmate’s girlfriend. When said inmate breaks out of prison, Billy follows in order to protect his girlfrie...more

I made it slightly more than halfway through this book before giving up. The characters' actions made no sense to me, and I kept waiting for something to shift or change, but I lost patience. Despite multiple attempts on her life, our heroine continues to insist on going out on her own, avoiding police protection, and rejecting all offers of help or comfort. In the face of this continued rejection, our hero considers himself in love with her after knowing her for about two days. Unbearably dumb.

Macy Tucker is working herself through law school. Something her cheating ex-husband should have been doing since she did it for him, but she ditched him when she caught him with his secretary. Every man in her life has let her down, so she's sworn them off.
When her little brother escapes from jail, her life gets even more turned upside down when Houston police officer Jake Baldwin enters her life.

Classic Craig. Funny, endearing, and slightly goofy suspense that leaves one smiling at the end. Perfectly imperfect people finding their HEA.
This one is pushing 3 stars. I enjoyed Jakes character but Macy drove me crazy. For being so smart she sure didn't use her brain at all.
