Willa is looking forward to spending another fun summer on Cape Cod and auditioning for the local production of Our Town. She thinks that she and boyfriend, Joey, are perfect for the lead roles. She's also keeping busy planning weddings at the Bramble Inn, and preparing to become a big sister.

But when the beautiful new girl ends up getting the lead in Our Town over Willa, Willa isn't sure what will become of her and Joey!

Really good, easy read.... not as filled with drama as the last one, i think... i'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I think the author was trying to make it so readers actually like Mariel, the girl that Willa thinks Joseph likes, but I never really took a liking to her... I mean, I felt bad for her and all, but i didn't really like her personality. However, I also hated the way that Willa jumped to conclusions about Mariel secretly going out with Joseph or liking him or something, when ...more

I preferred this book to all of the other books that I have read of The Wedding Planner's Daughter series.

Star-Crossed Summer is the third instalment of Willa's life and things couldn't be better. Finally, her and her crush are together, her mum and her step-dad are expecting a baby and Willa is planning a wedding for two people. However, when a mystery girl appears out of nowhere Willa finds herself getting jealous, a little too quickly, and that things may be turning upside down. And after an

I recently purchased this book at the school book fair and didn't expect to like it as much as I do. Summer is quickly approaching on Cape Cod, where Willa and Joey explore their relationship. Yet, Willa experiences some competition when the new girl in town, Marielle, gives her some competition in the romantic lead of the play "Our Town." This is a great dramatic romance tale that could be shared with younger to early adolescent age girls. It is an easy read and highly enjoyable!

I love this book.

I don't remember much about this book, since I read it quite a while ago, but I remember reading it and falling in love with the story, the characters, the romance, and overall the entire novel was so amazing I reread it multiple times. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone looking for a heartwarming and uplifting read.

Willa returns in the third installment of this series. An avid reader, Willa would not be disappointed with the first line of this charming book. It will hook you in from the start and the irrepressible wit of Willa will keep you staying for more. Willa tells us about the cozy town of Bramble. She tells us about the Bramblebriar Inn where you’ll want to stay the night and wake up to the smell of Rosie’s breakfast cooking. She also tells us about all the people she loves: her family and friends w ...more

Ew.
I didn't like it. Throughout the book I had absolutely NO clue how old Willa was even supposed to be; she presented herself as young, but talked like she was from the Middle Ages. Basically, the whole book was her mooning: "Oh, my mother is getting married, so romantic...I think I really like my name, it's very wonderful...oh, I do believe I've got the vapours....JFK, how could you, how could you be seen with another girl, I think I'm going to run away now..."
JFK is a stupid name, and his rea

I believe that this is Paratore's best book out of her Wedding Planner's Daughter series. I thought this book was a heart-warming book with humorous dialogue at times. Willa's character is who every girl wants to be., strong-willed and has the guy of her dreams aka JFK. Until one of JFK's old friends come back Willa feels like she will steal him away. This book has it's sad, happy, and funny moments making it the perfect book to read when in need of one that really moves you. The ending is bitte ...more

A lot of people I know told me I had to read this book, that the romance and friendships were great and Willa was so lovable. And it does seem to be a very popular book. And I'm glad so many people like it, but it wasn't all that interesting to me. Maybe I'm to old for it, or maybe it's because I haven't read the other books, but to me, the book was nothing special at all. Of course there are nice moments, like I enjoyed the Our Town references and the step father seemed likable. What really tic ...more

Willa By Heart By Coleen Murtagh Paratore. I loved reading this book and the series. I hope more books come out to add onto this series. I really enjoyed it. Contuining onto the other book that Willia did save the libary. A new charecter comes into the story, her name is Marielle. She is sarting to take Willias boy away from her and she is mad and she has some compition ahead of her. She finds out news that her mother is gonna have a baby and she is shocked but happy. This book is the last book to "The Wedding Planner's Daughter" series so that was the very reason I picked this book up in the first place. This book is very realistic and explains the life of a very compassionate 13-year-old girl, Willa Havisham. Just a book about a normal girls life, it's actually not as boring as one would expect. My favorite quote, " A new dawn. A new day. Thank you", really elucidates the theme to the story: People are all lucky to have another day, another chance, and they ...more

I probably would have given this a higher star but I didn't read the books in order so I really already knew what happened in this #3.

Willa is ending her freshmen year with a new friend, her boyfriend and calling Sam her dad. There are a few tears also in this book but the success of a book drive and helping with two weddings highlight her year.

I think I know what draws me so much to the 'Willa' series. Well, besides the funny yet smart main character, of course! Coleen Paratore's writing is lyrical. She paints beautiful word-pictures and allows us to see the magic that Willa feels in her home on Cape Cod.
This book was one I was excited to pick up, and more than satisfied by the time I put it down! :)

Mariel. The girl who almost everything Willa wants is basic only problem in the story, minus Mum's moving back and two weddings in the same weekend. I still do not know why Mariel was swimming in the lake. But there is not rude or mean about Mariel. She's not competitive either. When she got the part of Emily instead of Willa in our town was because it was her dream and the play that her mom ran away for was our town. And Coleen Paratore coincidence or she did on purpose was when Mariel told Wil ...more

i think that this book is a good mix of alot of different topics and conflicts and i think that maybe this book sort of hit the spot on how some high school and middle school girls will deal with rejection of alot of different things wheather it is a play a sport team etc. and i also think that this book is really to connect with book lovers as well so who ever is on this site is obviously a book lover and i do reccomend reading The Wedding Planner's Daughter Cupid Chronicals before reading this ...more

The way Coleen Murtagh is able to do what she does, It's amazing. Willa is amazing, amazing, amazing ,amazing. I gladly put this book to 5 stars. Life is still more than boys. There is more meaning to life, like writing and developing your love for writing and reading. Thank you Willa for teaching me to write all over my books making me unable to read them later...

You ever go to a bookstore and see a book and just grab it without reading the back? Long ago I read the two books previous to Willa by Heart and I loved them. This one didn't disappoint. It was a light read, full of love of all kinds. There's pain too, all sorts of it which makes you feel all the more connected to the characters.
This book makes you want to read the great classics of literature, have a picnic, eat some salt water taffy, start a book store, and head to the nearest beach to watch

In my book Willa by Heart i am on page 29. It's getting really mysterious. You see Willa the main character has a boyfriend named JFkwho she thinks is secretly dating someone she doesnt know. Acully Willa saw that girl at the beach in the fog jump in the ocean. It was wierd because it was way too cold to be swimming. i just cant seem to put this book down. Well i have been reading this book for like 1 and 1/2 days. It's romantic, myterious, and sometimes funny. I just love it.

The third book in the Wedding Planners Daughter series was just as thrilling as the first two! I loved reading it! This book was even better than the second! The end was a totally unexpected surprise with Joey and "someone other than Willa" together. When I read it, I was shocked! I am so physced for the fourth book to come out. This book is phenomenal!

this book wasnt a bad book its just seemed like it was trying to tell a love story but i got 3/4 of the way through and gave up cuase it didnt look like it was going anywhere. it was to bland and normal and almost no descripition it got to the point to where i was reading it just so i could get it over with. i wouldnt wast your time on this book

LOL. Willa finally gets her happily ever after, but it's short lived when she gets the wrong idea with the new girl in town and jumps to conclusions which ultimately causes a few rifts in her relationships. I think this book was pretty good, just not as memorable as the first one. Don't forget to read the first book, the wedding planners daughter!

Recommends it for: people who read the first two
I thought this book was pretty good, but I think that was mostly because I liked the first two. This one didn't hit me as deeply in the tragic parts, and I think Willa gets kind of wimpy in this book. She turns kind of annoying, and gets a little too girly, I think. It is definitely worth reading, but prepare to be dissapointed.
