Not having been a particularly girly girl, I find this whole series pretty revolting. And this one is especially lame.

I think that the 2011 Caldecott winner should have been for the book Silverlicious. This book is one of many books of the same theme which are very well-known; Pinkalicious,Purplicious, and Goldilicious.

The illustrator of this book is also the author,Victoria Kann. I chose this book because of the way the illustrations are able to captivate the reader with all of its extremely bright colors and great representation of story telling through the illustration. THe book is filled with all different...more

My Kindergartner and I love the Pinkalicious series and we eagerly await each release day. It's a bit of an event for the two of us and because she's my youngest, I think I enjoy it even more. We were excited to head over to our favorite bookstore to attend their Silverlicious release party but instead we ended up huddled in a corner reading the book. Yes, it's that good!

In Silverlicious, Victoria introduces an important rite of passage in a child's life -- the loss of that...more

What little girl does not like the colors pink, or purple? In Silverlicious, a little girl named Pickalicious, loses her tooth -- not just any tooth, but her sweet tooth, and Pinkalicious loves sweets. She decides to leave the tooth fairy a note, along with her tooth, asking her to bring her something sweet to eat until her new sweet tooth grows in. For several nights in a row, she gets a visit while she is asleep, not from the tooth fairy Tootheetina, but from Carlos Cupid, Edgar Easter Bunny a...more

The pictures in this book, like the pictures in the rest of the Pinkalicious series, are so beautiful and, well, PINK, that it doesn’t really matter that the story doesn’t make much sense. Our main character loses her tooth and it turns out that it is her sweet tooth. The Tooth Fairy must come soon and replace this tooth, she pleads; nothing sweet tastes good to her. Instead of the Tooth Fairy, in rapid succession appear Cupid, the Easter Bunny, and a Christmas elf, all of whom decorate her room...more

Silverlicious, part of the Pinkalicious series, was published on February 1, 2011 and has won the hearts of young girls everywhere. In the story, Pinkalicious loses her sweet tooth, but she loves sweets. She leaves the tooth fairy a note with her tooth and asks her to bring her something sweet to eat until a new sweet tooth grows back. Instead of getting a visit from the tooth fairy Tootheetina, she gets a visit from Carlos Cupid, Edgar Easter Bunny and Elf #351. They all leave her three pieces...more

Pinkilicious has lost a tooth. But, it's not just any tooth...It's her "sweet tooth". But, she lost it from eating a cookie stolen from a friend.
She, then, cannot taste the sweetness in anything sweet. We learn this, as many holiday mascots show up to give her wonderful sweets while she sleeps, leaving her sad because she cannot taste the sweetness.
Pinkilicious keeps requesting that her personal tooth fairy, Toothie Tina, come give her "good" sweets, but Tina is always busy. When Tina does co...more

The art in this work and this series is just terrific. The pages in this library book have creases in them obviously created by children.

In this work her tooth has been wiggling and when it comes out Pinkalicious realizes it was her sweet tooth! She writes a letter to the tooth fairy, but the reply is from Carlos Cupid, because "Tootheetina, your personal tooth fairy, was busy last night." With the next letter to Mr. Cupid and Edgar Easter Bunny (who replies Tootheetina is in India helping an e...more

OK, it may be sad that I'm this excited about a kid's book, but I'm really excited about this book coming out! We are Pinkalicious-pink-a-holics in our family.

Silverlicious is such a great book for kids to read! In this book Pinkalicious thinks she has lost her sweet tooth and is scared she will not be able to taste anything sweet again. She begins to write letters to the tooth fairy to ask if she can have her sweet tooth back. In the end Pinkalicious learns that being sweet is all about being kind to others. This would a be a great book to introduce the importance of writing letters. I could break down the compnents of writing a letter and have the s...more

Another book in the Pinkalicious series that I was not very impressed with. Again, I thought the main character acted like a spoiled brat. In this story she gets all kinds of nice surprises from the Easter Bunny to one of Santa's elf and she hardly shows any gratitude. All she does is complain about the candy they leave her how it doesn't taste right. She finally gets a few manners in the end and realizes she needs to be more grateful, but I thought the story spent too much time showing her bad...more

Silverlicious is a great read! Like the rest of the pinkalicious series the pictures are very detailed and colorful. In Silverlicous, Pinkalicious loses her tooth and is worried she lost her sweet tooth as well. She is devastated that she might not ever be able to taste sweet things again. She begins to write the tooth fairy on her quest to get her sweet tooth back. I would use this book inside my classroom when it comes to teaching students how to write letters. This book is a fun way to see wh...more

Pinkalicious learns a valuable lesson in this book. She looses her a tooth, which happens to be sweet tooth. She can taste nothing sweet. She is disappointed and unhappy when her tooth fairy is to busy to come and help and sends some other interesting guest to help with the problem. She also learns a very valuable lesson on how her attitude may effect how her day goes. This is a fun little book and has very bright and vivid illustrations. Little girls that love princesses will love Silverlicious...more

Silverlicious by Victoria Kann is the fourth of the Pinkalicious picture books. There is also a series of level one readers for children ready to move on in their reading skills.

As the main character has gotten older, it's time for her to start losing her teeth. Unfortunately she loses her sweet tooth! With it gone, none of treats she's given taste like anything good. Feeling jilted, she also starts to lose her sweet personality.

The reason I don't count the level one readers in the same series i...more

My favorite of the Pinkalicious series. Pinkalicious has lost her sweet tooth but the tooth fairy is off on other jobs so her friends pitch in to help Pinkalicious find her sweet tooth. Each character leaves Pinkalicious's room decorated in different themes and leave her notes. Carlos Cupid, Edgar Easter Bunny, elf #351, and finally Tootheetina help Pinkalicious understand that she can solve her problem by herself. Would make a great mentor/anchor text to teach letter writing.

Pinkalicious has lost her sweet tooth and is begging Totharina, the tooth fairy, to help her get it back. What she gets instead is cupid, the Easter bunny and elf #351. However, none of them succeeds at curing her sweet tooth dilemma. Will Pinkalicios ever get to enjoy sweet things again? You'll have to read the book to find out. This book was sweet to the core. It would make a great story time book for kids in grades k-2. There's a lot of pink and a sweet message at the end.

Pinkalicious loses her sweet tooth. The Tooth Fairy is busy so she sends Cupid, the Easter Bunny, and an elf to visit Pinkalicious. Pinkalicous learns that candy is only sweet when you are sweet on the inside too.

A fun bedtime story. I would purchase the series for a school library collection because I know that kids will love it. Very kid-friendly with a positive message included in the fun.

**Also, my mom bought this for me. Um, thanks?

Pinkalicious Pinkerton loses her Sweet Tooth (happens to just be her front tooth). She is visited by Carlos Cupid, Edgar the Easter Bunny and Elf #351. Everyone brings her a sweet treat, but they don't taste sweet to Pinkalicious. Finally Tootheetina visits and brings her 3 silverlicious chocolate coins and reminds her that sweetness comes from inside.

A good book for children needing to understand the consequences of greed and being gracious and thankful.

This title didn't disappoint as some others beyond "Pinkalicious" in the series have...with a cute storyline and adorable, heavily pink illustrations. Pinkalicious loses her sweet tooth (of all teeth!) and pens a note to the Tooth Fairy. Because the Tooth Fairy is tied up on another "case" others try to help out (Cupid, Easter Bunny, one of Santa's elves) to no avail. This made my girls giggle! Enjoyable for early elementary and savvy higher level preschool.

This book is absolutely adorable. I would definitely not recommend it for boys to read, especially with all of the pinks in the illustrations. This is a great book for a student who is not confident in her reading, because it relates to girls in many different ways. There are letters in this book too, with the little girl writing to the tooth fairy. There is a lot of dialogue between characters and a lot of emotion coming from this little girl.

In this addition to the Pinkalicious franchise, Pinkalicious loses her tooth. She of course still loves all things sweet, but when she is visited by not the tooth fairy, but Cupid, the Easter Bunny, and an elf she is not pleased with what they leave her. Finally the tooth fairy does come, and I have to say I enjoyed the ending to this one more than some of the others.

Goldilicious may be my favorite of the series, but this is a close second.

I think this is the second, maybe third, book we've read in the series but this one irked me at first. I really wasn't feeling how she took the cookie from her baby brother and then while he sat there crying the parents were concerned with the girl and her tooth. I get that it did lend credence to the story and that Pinkalicious learns her lesson later but man, snotty kids are a HUGE pet peeve of mine. Along with bad parents. The thing that saved it for me is that learned lesson at the end.

This was such a cute book! i will have this book in my classroom! It is about pinkalicious and how she loses her sweet tooth. She wants the tooth fairy to come and bring her money. Well all the other holiday people (santa, easter bunny, cupid etc) come and visit her and bring her sweets! She thinks they are gross and wants the tooth fairy. I think this book can be used for holidays, dental health, etc. So cute!!

Silverlicious tells the story of a girl that loses her sweet tooth and enlists her tooth fairy for help until she learns that sweetness comes from the inside. The art work (collage and digital art media) for this is very pink and very detailed, some items almost pop out of the page they look so realistic. For children, I believe it would be fun to do a Pinkalicious craft or a talk about tooth fairy rituals.

We really liked Pinkalicious, but I was a bit disappointed by Goldilicious and Purplicious. They were just weird and seemed like the author didn't care about quality as much as selling while things were still hot. Silverlicious seems to finally swing back toward being more worthwhile. It taught a lesson in a fun way, showing plenty of imagination without getting too crazy. And I always love Kann's illustrations.

PB #29: I enjoyed this book so much! The illustrations were great, and the story was great too. It was long enough that there was time to develop a liking of the characters and the story that was going on, but not too long that Bella lost interest. She listened the whole time, and by the end was making the noise of the alarm with me! "PINNNNNK, PINNNNNNK, PINNNNNNK!" Great read aloud =]

This book is very colorful. The book tells the story of Pinkalicious who lost her sweet tooth. She complained about being unable to taste any sweetness. That was the case until Tootheetina left a note to Pinkalicious telling her that sweetness comes from her heart. Then Pinkalicious shared her chocolate with her brother and finally she tasted sweetness again. This story points out sharing is a virtue.

Silverlicious is another great book from the Pinkilicious serious. I really like these books because they teach some sort of lesson. In Siverlicious, the little girl doesn't have a very good attitude and isn't grateful for the things she receives. In the end her attitude improves. I like to use this book to teach the moral of the story and its just fun for the kids.

PB 28
This book was cute, but I didn't like it nearly as much as Pinkilicious. The story has some fun puns that children would like. Unfortunately, this book has a lot of holidays in it that some children might not celebrate which, depending on the school, could mean it wouldn't a classroom read. Still, it was a fun story and teaches a good lesson.
Amy Carr
I have to admit that I do not like the Pinkalicious series. I find the main character to be the antithesis of the habits and character you hope your child will develop. She is spoiled, whiny, throws tantrums, and ungrateful. I could actual tolerate this new book in the series because she gets called on all these things at the end of the book!!!!
