Well I was going to give it 2 stars, but the cute kitty saved the book. I hated everything else about it though, and I wasn't scared when the ghost appears like I am in almost every other horror novel I read.
I tried not to use that as criteria though, b/c I've read every book, until 'The Dark Tower 7,' that Stephen King wrote. I don't compare other writers to him unless they're Anne Rice or Dean Koontz, both of whom I like better than Stephen King, especially Anne Rice (before she was save More...

Short and rather shallow. Boy meets girl, girl plays hard to get, boy afraid to lose girl to ghost, boy and girl solve ghost's problem by being guided by enigmatic cat. I hope the other Kay Hooper books are better cause this one was awful. It was like a romance writer was attempting something scary, tripped at the starting line and then decided WTH just go with romance and add a ghost. The characters weren't that developed and the plot very weak, if there was a plot. To top off this mess, everyt

I adored this one! It has just a touch of paranormal but not enough to call it a "paranormal romance." Let's call it "old school" LOL! I also love that it was a "sweet" story. There isn't much in the way of explicit scenes between the two main characters so it was a refreshing story. I thought the characters were great...including the cat! The cover makes it appear to be a scary story but it really isn't. It reminded me of a story like Jennifer Crusie's Maybe This T

This was a good book despite what the "reviews" are from the people who subscribe to Goodreads. Of course, that is my opinion. I notice a few things Kay Hooper wrote in this book are the same as she wrote in "After Caroline". I like books better when the author can make each book "it's own" and different. However, I understand they [the author:] will have the same style, mannerisms and wording in all their books. I think that's why author's sometimes write boo

Okay, I really enjoyed some of Kay Hooper's other supernatural romances ("Finding Laura" and "After Caroline" especially). Great supernatural suspense. This book? This book is AWFUL. Like, DREADFUL. It left me telling my cat very fervently that bad books like these should never be written. Complete waste of 3 hours of my life. DREADFUL. STAY AWAY. Simpering, weak heroine, pushy male who gets his way against the heroines better (?) judgement, superlame ghost, weak plot

This was actually an older book that had been reprinted, but I enjoyed it. Josie, the main character, is on a secret quest to clear her father's name and has chosen to do this in a remote rental home. Her landlord, Marc, just happens to be an attorney who's convalescing in the next house. Throw in a mysterious black cat called Pendragon and a sudden haunting by Marc's great uncle who supposedly committed suicide and you've got yourself a couple of mysteries to solve.

I really liked this book. It was a sweet story of finding love and learning to trust. I really enjoyed the cats part in moving the story along. After reading some reviews of this book I was expecting a saccharin story but what I got was a smart story with intelligent characters and a believable love story. this is the first Kay Hooper I have read but it wont be the last.

This was about Josie and her coming to rent a house from the Westbrooks and discovering a ghost that wanted her help in setting the record straight. His nephew lived in a cottage on the property recovering from an accident and fell in love with Josie. Josie was working through some things from her past and Marc helped in getting things worked out. Pendragon the cat was an interesting character in the book too.

Blah. Thought this was going to be a haunting tale and it turned out to be a romance novel. Didn't finish.
Chia and Crystal, you all know I love Kari but when she said Kay Hooper was one of the few horror author's she liked, well let's just say any 20-something year-old gal whose bedroom is decorated with Disney characters is no judge of horror. But I still love her.
Recommended for: Kari and her clones

I really enjoyed this book. However, I believe that the scenes could have been played out a little longer. I think that the mystery could have been unwrapped a little slower--maybe let us get a first person view on the mystery and also the story in general. I guess all in all I felt as though it was a bit rushed. But I still enjoyed it :)

It was a cute book and I couldn't put it down. (Though that's hardly uncommon for me) However, it lacked a suspenseful plot. I do like Kay Hooper's inclusion of 'human' cats. Golden Threads also included a cat...and both made me smile.

I thought this book would be good. Thought it would be about ghosts because she usually writes about psychics. It wasn't. It is a love story, I didn't see the heart label on the outside of the library book! yuck!!

I liked the story but, it seemed like there were parts of the story that were left out. Such as, "was there any investigation on the fire when Josie was a child?" and "what ended up happening to Josie's novel?"

I liked Pendragon the black cat - the way he is, the way he talks!
Nice little way to bring two young attractive persons together over a family mystery...

I enjoyed this - sometimes you just need to relax and read a book that is somewhat predictable but nonetheless intriquing to see how it all develops and ends.

An early book from Kay Hooper's transition from romance to paranormal romance. A good story, a little mystery, a cute ending.

A good little short read of a murder mystery, love and closure to family tragedies. Pretty well written and details were good.

I listened to this on audio book. It was enjoyable, but not what I was expecting.. still I would like to read/listen to more Kay Hooper.

This was a cute story, obviously one of Kay Hooper's earlier books focusing more on romance than suspense.

Easy to read, and it's good for cat lovers. It has ghost, romance, and an odd black cat.

My favorite Kay Hooper novel. The ghost, the cat and the sexy neighbor - what a combination. One of my first by her, and I was hooked. Very good book.

This was a short but enjoyable read.
This was about a ghost trying to get his story out and help ease the guilt of those he loved.
It was a story of the the girl who is haunted by the ghost to resolve this and also find love.
WOrth a read
