We estimate the respective contributions of institutions, geography, and trade in determining income
levels around the world, using recently developed instruments for institutions and trade. Our results

Argues that institutional factors are more important in determining development trends than geography. This is directed towards Sachs, and it occludes all of economic geography. Fascinating though is that they collapse rule of law with property rights. Sachs takes
