Dear Reader,

Have you ever wanted to know what it's like to be immortal? To journey through the night stalking the evil that preys on humans? To have unlimited wealth, unlimited power? That is my existence, and it is dark and dangerous. I play hero to thousands, but am known to none. And I love every minutes of it.

Or so I thought until one night when I woke up handcuffed to

This isn't a review, it's a rant...

I know many readers love this series, but I'm beginning to think it isn't for me. This was my second book by SK - the first was Fantasy Lover - and I still don't know what all the fuss is about. The concept and the mythology of the Dark Hunters are very interesting, but SK's writing didn't work for me again. What annoyed me the most was how all her characters were constantly cracking jokes, no matter how serious and dangerous the situation was. Everyone was a s

This book sounded so promising, it was my first read by Sherrilyn Kenyon and I'd heard many people raving on about how great her Dark Hunter novels were; and as a fan of paranormal romance and urban fantasy, I couldn't wait to find another sexy, dark series to get into, complete with the usual array of vampires and mythology.

The problem with the paranormal romance genre, and even more so the urban fantasy genre, is that after you've read a few of them they all start to form a similar pattern wit

Sherrilyn Kenyon is becoming a better author, but we still have a ways to go.

Kyrian is a Dark Hunter. Amanda is one of the 9 Devereaux sisters. Selena, the psychic from Fantasy Lover, for example, is her sister. They wake up to find themselves handcuffed together by an evil Daimon named Desiderius.

They fall in love and stuff.

- Kyrian is sarcastic and joking. While amusing, it failed to connect me to the character. I couldn't get worried too much about
It's actually unbelievable that I get such a kick out of these books. They are completely rushed, thick with cheese and very eye-roll worthy, and yet, I'm loving it.

Amanda wanted normality in her life, but sadly it's not in the cards for her. Mistaken for her twin, she is attacked and the next thing she knows she's handcuffed to a big, tall and sexy who she can't help but want...of course.
Enter Kyrian.
I don't know why I have such a thing for tortured past-brooding tempered- smoldering vamps, but

Just finished my reread and I loved this just as much, if not more, the second time. No PNR author writes 5-star stories with as much heart as Kenyon does IMO. Her books are the perfect blend of tortured heroes, strong heroines, engaging plot, intricate mythology, heart touching moment and the sweetest HEAs. I really love how she also clearly had an overall story arc from page one. During my reread, I caught a lot of things that set up books far down the series that I never noticed the first tim ...more

I've been on a real binge this month, discovering Sherrilyn Kenyon's work!
The world she created not only is dark, ominous and terrifying but is also bright, full of humor and filled with sexy demi gods and demons.
I loved how she mixed greek mythology with contemporary fairy tales... Her heroines are full on snark and mischief, gods and goddess impetuous as ever and the Dark Hunters... I haven't met one I didn't like...

I'm up to book 5 now and they keep getting better and better! I must say, I on

Wow, Dark Hunters are far more than just being dark. At first they became who they are because of something they did wrong but that isn't it. It's a choice they made. Kyrian is a Dark Hunter. His job is to destroy the Daimons who are trying to suck the souls out of the human race. Amanda who is in a boring relationship and who comes from a very unconventional family was kidnapped by the evil that Kyrian is after because he was looking for her twin but she ended up being handcuffed to Kyrian, whi ...more

I like it!
What’s not to like?
Custard? Characters.... Good!
Jam? Plot.... Goooood!
Meat? Kyrian.... Goooooooood!

Okay, this book is better than Rachael’s meat, peas, onions, whip cream, jam and raspberry English trifle. Way better! It has all of the ingredients for a steamy, edgy, exciting and faced paced adventure.

Although it’s definitely a read that’s outside of my preferred genre, I feel Sherrilyn Kenyon has wha

Finally the Dark-Hunter universe is explained :) I think this was supposed to be the first D-H because this is where they first appear.

I liked this book very much, although the storyline was quite predictable (and when I say quite I mean totally XD), and the ending a liiiittle to mushy for me, but the main character was awsome, so he gets the 4 stars <3

Night Pleasures is the first story in the Dark-Hunters series to actually get into the real meat of who the Dark-Hunters are and what they do. As such, it was a pretty good beginning to the overall story arc, but in my opinion, as an individual romance it suffered from a few of the same issues as it's predecessor, Dragonswan. There was plenty of material in this book, in particular Kyrian's tormented past, which should have lent itself to rip-your-heart-out moments

This was my first book by Sherrilyn Kenyon andalthough it wasn't a five star book for me, and cheesy at times it was still a solid beginning to a passionate PNR series andI can already tell this won't be my last. This book reminde

Wow!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!! This book was bad ass! I swear I needed a fanfuckintastic read!!!!!! Bring on book 2!!!
I used to say, I'm not a vampire reader, although I loved the Buffy and Angel series on TV.

After hearing rabid raving over LKH creations, I decided to give it a try awhile back.

Na uh. Not for me. Totally couldn't get into it.

I even tried some other popular paranormal authors ... Feehan, Shayne ...

None of them pulled me in.

Then a friend sent me Kenyon's Night Pleasures and I thought, "Ah ha!", now here's a vamp series I can have fun with. It's not an Anne Rice rehashing, which I always found so d
I’m going 4.5 in the first installment of the Dark Hunter series and it really might just be closer to 5. The series has been so thoroughly reviewed I won’t get into the synopsis except to say its another hunter\vampire series.

When the story started I thought “I hope there is more than this.“ I got a detailed description of Kyrian 3 times in the first chapter and thought I was going to be disappointed. Don’t get me wrong the writing really did grab me from page one I just thought it was going to

This story is of Kyrian and Amanda.

When I first read this series, I thought I read the wrong book. What does this book have to do with Fantasy Lover? Well, almost nothing IMO. There are a few tidbits that flow into each other, but not enough to really tie them together.

Night Pleasures really takes off into a unique world of vampires, daimons, gods and demigods and Dark-Hunters. It’s all very quite interesting and wholeheartedly intriguing. Unlike Kenyon’s recent publications, this series is mor

This is the first book I've read by SK and although it didn't quite live up to my expectations, I ultimately ended up enjoying it all the same.
The world building was great as well as the numerous secondary characters but the relationship that developed between Amanda and Kyrian was the real prize.

Amanda was a great heroine, genuine and down to earth. Her heart was pure as well as her affections for Kyrian. She didn't annoy me like some other heroines you find flexing their stu
The only thing I can say at this point is that I loved this book. I have squeed, awwwed, icked, and shuddered so much that my brain is exhausted and I loved every minute of it. Fans of BDB you need to try out this series, it is the first one that I have found that can hold up against it. The characters are great and really like how the author gives us glimpses into her other characters who have already had their HEA. It is also great to see a Heroine hold her own against all the evil forces that ...more
Another great story in the Dark Hunter Series. Kyrian and Amanda's story was so cute! I love how Kenyon writes! There is so much humor, sadness and always a great twist to her stories! She makes you feel the pain of the DH's past which makes you just fall in love with the character! I'm loving her series so far.

Kyrian was betrayed by his wife thousands of years ago and Amanda shows him that she will never betray him. OF course there is more to the story like Amanda's powers she decided to put a

This was my first Sherrilyn Kenyon book and I am definitely going to keep reading this series. This paranormal world of Dark Hunters has sucked me in and I enjoyed the world being developed by Kenyon. With the series being well along, I won't have to wait to get further glimpses into the this wonderfully intriguing world of Greek gods, Dark Hunters, Appolites, and Daimons. You know that moment when you meet the best thing in your life, and your brain, body, and emotions kind of just explode all over the place? Well, that sentiment should come with a greeting card that reads, "Congratulations; you've now been introduced to author Sherrilyn Kenyon!" Said introduction comes with book-one of the Dark-Hunter series, and
This is the second book in the Dark Hunter series (the first, technically, if you don't count Fantasy Lover, which I do, since it first introduced the pantheon, and those characters continued in later books). I should mentioned that I started out reading the series out of order, but am now trying to read them in order.

Of all the Dark Hunter books I've read so far, I do believe this is my favorite. Kyrian is a fantastic, believable character. And I really liked that conservative accountant Amanda
Having fallen in love with SK's style of writing with Fantasy Lover, i knew this book had a LOT to live up to. I definitely wasn't disappointed. Kyrian and Amanda are a couple for the ages, and their story is at once beautiful, romantic, tragic and sexy.

With this, the second novel in her series Sherri continues to add both spice and humor to the Dark Hunter world, and she does it almost better than anyone else around today. Her early DH books are hands down some of the best novels I have read, i

What a great read!! Pure Paranormal Romance!

I wasn't sure what to expect going in, except that this series came with very high praise from a trusted source so I knew I'd love it.

The story is told from multiple POVs which I love, because I love to know what's going on in everybody's head. Our heroine is Amanda, and I really liked that she wasn't damaged or needy. She kept a level head throughout all of the life-changing drama that was going on around her, and was not afraid to put herself out th

Many would be proud of me to see this review. I, myself am feeling quite accomplished because I have gone back to the beginning and started to read this series in order. This time, Angela can’t boot my butt for reading out of order. After all, it only makes sense to read a series in order, right?
