"4.5 stars" At last.....another Dark-Hunter book that I could really sink my teeth into (pun intended;-)). I had greatly enjoyed the first book of the series, Fantasy Lover, but the stories in between that book and Dance with the Devil had left me feeling underwhelmed and less than satisfied. As I suspected it might, Dance with the Devil gave me a meatier tale with two well-developed characters that I could totally root for and who were very relatable, as More...

This is Book Four of the "Dark-Hunter" series, and so far it is my favorite. It tells the story of Zarek, who died a tortured Roman slave and was reborn by Artemis as a Dark Hunter. Haunted by his past, he is considered insane and dangerous. Zarek is disliked by all the other Dark Hunters except Ash, who is the only one trying to keep him from being executed by Artemis.
When Zarek goes on "trial," Astrid, a nymph, is chosen by Ash to judge him. Never before h More...

There is not a rating I can give this book. It beats any expectations I had and then some!
My heart ached, bled, & cried for Zarek. I don't think I have read another character so tormented and abused as him. I wanted to throw my hands into the book and wrap him up around me.
He was hard done by, by a lot of people but he still cared in his way. Still put everyone's else needs before his.
I adored Astrid, I honestly could not fault her nor could I fault this boo More...

I started listening to it last night, I'm half way done already… wow I love this book, and I can't help myself when it comes to a torture hero.
4.1/2 stars.
I’m really starting to get into this series; after listening to first book and not being that impressed I kept putting it in the back burner. I’m so glad I picked it back up, I really enjoyed this one, and it could be that I’m a sucker for torture heroes, or just that I’m becoming more familiar with the characters. I see now More...

Despite it's flaws (Kenyon tends to repeat herself, and she's obviously ripping off Buffy and Charmed)- I like the series. It's all about the characters, dude. I love them, and though the heroes all tend to look and act alike ... you just gotta love them too.
Dance with the Devil, is considered one of the best in the Dark Hunter series. Although it's a good story, I wouldn't say it's my favorite so far. Zarek is a one hard, tortured hero and considering his past, he has every right to More...

The thing I like about these Dark-Hunter books is that on the most part the men are the ones that need saving by the women not the other way around, it’s a nice change of pace. Astrid, a nymph of justice, is sent from Artemis to judge Dark-Hunter Zarek on whether he was innocent or guilty and if guilty having him executed and whenever Astrid was sent to judge someone she is rendered blind as to not interfere with her decision. The parts with Sasha are funny, when Astrid connects with Sasha and

I knew I would like Zarek's story! I am so glad he found someone to soften him up. I really liked Astrid, too. He was banned to Alaska 2 thousand years ago because he killed a village of humans. After an incident in Mardi Gras, the bitch Artemis has decided that Zarek is out of control and needs to be destroyed. Acheron bargains with her to give him another chance and let him be judged 'guilty' or 'innocent' of his horrible crimes in the past. Astrid is a nymph sent by Artemis and Acheron t

I really don't know what to say about this book. I loved Zarek, Astrid was wonderful (I love that name!), the story was perfect. The End.
Okay, so maybe I have a bit more to say...
I believe Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing has gotten better as the series has progressed. Fantasy Lover was great but a bit choppy, Night Pleasures was nice but the weakest so far and still somewhat choppy (not to mention it's the only one I've given away), Night Embrace (Dark-Hunter, #2) was nice and enjoy More...

This is my favourite in the dark-hunter series to date!!
I loved everything about this installment in the series - FANTASTIC read!
Dance with the devil is book #6 in the series and it's the story of dark hunter Zarek and Astrid a justice nymph.
Astrid is sent to judge Zarek - to decide if he shall live or die.
She has never before found a charge innocent...
The only fault i found with this book is with one of the intimate scences, Zarek removed his clot More...

The absolute best Dark Hunter tied only with his brother Valerius's story. Zarek is the "B" in bad boy. Excellent book. The thing is, Kenyon made Zarek so real and I felt such compassion for him that I found myself disliking the other Hunters who treated him so badly. The dislike turned to hate when I read Seize the Night (Valerius's story). Zarek had the absolute perfect woman who seemed to be like living breathing Ritalin -- she regulated and calmed him.

I've been addicted to the Dark-Hunters for years and Dance with the Devil is one of the stand-outs in the series. If you loved Zsadist from JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood, you'll fall for Zarek of Moesia.
Zarek grew up as a slave in his father's household to his half-brothers, where he was universally hated, beaten, humiliated and told he was worthless by everyone around him.
As a Dark-Hunter, the village Zarek was guarding was decimated and he was banished to Alaska for 90 More...

Zarek is a Dark hunter – who has been alone for 2,000 years. And as a human before that he only wished he was alone rather than ciosntantly abused and tortured as a slave of cruel Roman masters. Living in Alaska for the last 600 years has been hard and lonely and only further hardened him and made him crueller

Buku ini benar-benar membuat mademoiselle kagum terhadap Sherrilyn Kenyon. Buku ini benar-benar bgs.
Zarek of Moesia mempunyai masa kanak-kanak yang menyedihkan. Ibuny seorang wanita simpanan pamanny.

Zarek is a Dark-Hunter who appears to hate everyone and everything. He basically comes off as a cranky bastard. But who can blame him with the life that her as been forced to endure. As a Roman slave he was the whipping boy who was so brutalized to the point of mutilation.
After becoming a Dark-Hunter he was banished to Alaska to live like a hermit for over 900 years. A time in which he slipped further down the road to complete & total insanity.
Astrid is a demigod who is a judge liv More...

Gosh, I'm so close to sobbing I'm practically a basket case. It's been a while since I've read Zarek's story and it packed just as powerful a punch as it did the first one. Wow. Sherrilyn truly is the Queen of Tortured Heroes. Everything about Zarek made my heart bleed and wish desperately for a happy ever after for him. This was such a gut wrenching story that I had to stop quite a few times just so I could remember to breathe.

If this is the prelude to what Acheron's story will be like, I'm prepared to cry buckets. So far, Zarek is my favorite DH next to Ash, and he doesn't count. If I have pieced it together correctly, I'll bet Ash is a God or a dragon-creature deity of some sort - he has to be for Artemis to have a thing with him.
Anyway, back to Zarek and Astrid - gorgeous couple (a bit too many sex scenes - some of which I skipped), delightful backstories for both of them. The richness More...

Ok, this is what happened. I didn't want to read it but I couldn't exactly pass up reading about Zarek. He was so mean and so cold. Literally, he was stationed in Alaska. And he was pretty much kept there for 900 years or so. Oh and I loved the whole Rumpelstiltskin scene. I thought that was pretty hardcore funny. I was thinking, “Oh yeah, Zarek is bad”.
I liked Astrid . She was strong and determined and she made me laugh – her and her crazy wolf! She worked well with Zarek and guess wh More...

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, for me I started off Kenyon's DH series with Ash's book and because of that, all the other Dark Hunters seem to pale in comparison. Because how can you compare them to that tortured, beautiful hero that is Ash? Answer: you can't.
That was until I got my hands on Zarek's book. Zarek is no Ash, but he holds his own in my heart. He's tortured, he's beautiful and he's so damn understandable that even when he's being a Class A J More...

Wow....what a book. Since I read the last book I wanted to read it and it didnt disappoint. I loved Zarek and Astrids story. To be fair I think that Zarek was written better but that tends to be the case in these types of books. Accused of a crime by Artemis, Astrid is brought in by Archeron to judge whether he should live or die. Zareks past was the stuff of nightmares. Disowned by his parents and used a whipping boy it was pretty much cemented in my head that he was the way he was because of h

Dance with the Devil has the intensity I crave in romance novels. The gut-wrenching story that manages to make me furious about the injustice. Make me cry for the hero’s pain and hold my breath whenever his inner turmoil is revealed.
This is the book that gets me emotionally involved even against my own will. That crawls under the skin and makes me shudder from sensory overload. This is the book that I can read again and again and still feel its power.

One thing I am enjoying about the later books in this series (after the first two) is that each book/short story is about a character that has already been introduced in the prior books, and characters from previous books sometimes make appearances as well. As I've been on a big "series" kick lately, I'm finding this a lot of fun. It's nice to see what the characters are up to!

I love this series. Each book touches a different part of your heart!
The end is near for Zarek. After his stunt in New Orleans of being seen by bystanders and attacking the police, Artemis is calling for his death. Yet Acheron isn't going to let that happen without a fair trial. As a compromise, they call in Astrid, an official Justice who has never judged anyone innocent, to make the final judgment.
