When I took this book in my hands, I thought "1207 pages? I will never read it!". But my wish to read it was stronger than number of pages. These pages melted in hours of my reading. I was too fascinated to count pages. I wanted just to know "What's next?".

The Witching Hour, from Anne Rice, was published in Brazil in two separated parts. So, as weird as it can be, I’m going to write my impressions about the first half of Rice’s work.

Few of the authors that I read, so far, presented the degree of characters’ description I have been seeing in Rice’s novels. And appears that this capability is extended to its maximum with this novel, since the initial chapters detailing the main characters, to Talamasca’s Mayfair Witches file describing dozens of peo

Anne Rice's story caught me because I like stories that deal with magical and spiritual themes, mainly when told in a style dark as hers. Despite some very strange points like characters being much more than 100 years old or a girl having sex with her grand-grandfather, the characters, the story and the way it is told are wonderful to me.
