Gah!! I finally finished this book. I started it in November. I think it had a lot of helpful things in it, and gave me a heads-up for things that I could potentially face. I don't think it scared me into thinking our baby would have all of these things, but prepared me so that I won't be in complete shock if she has some of these things. I especially liked the personal story/accounts of a person who has lived through some severe spina bifida, written at the end of the book.
My youngest was born with spina bifida, and we did not find out until the day he was born. This book has been a huge accurate help to me from day one, until now! If you have a child or grandchild with spina bifida, this is a neccessity!
Well, you can probably guess why I read this book. But, I have read many a book about Spina Bifida and I have to say this was the best! I have some "new" ideas about how to help Reed with not only his medical issues but also school, parenting as well as his future!
