What a great collection of short stories! I loved the way the stories were arranged according to the age of the characters in the story. Clever.
My favorites:
Marty's Toy: A great way to start off the collection. It's a story that's been done before but that I found to be very unsettling nonetheless.
The Meadow: Disturbing...you start off in a picture perfect world and end up somewhere else entirely.
Mosquito Tim: One of my top three in this collection...more

This collection of short stories is slick, dark, creepy and delightfully evil. He takes no prisoners (well, he does, but I won’t spoil that tale for you), and I believe if he tried, he could take a sunny day in a springtime field and turn it into a horrifying place of... well hang on a minute... okay, he did do that, in "The Meadow"... and that’s just the second story in the book! If you like happy endings, this collection is not for you. But if you want stories which will make you smi...more

I either liked the stories or loved them. My personal favorites were Midnight Stroll and The Blue Light. There's a multitude of stories in here, separated into four sections; the first one dealing with kids, the second one focusing on young adults and I think teenagers, the third one centers on middle-aged characters, and the last one deals with the old fellows and old ladies.
The stories kinda reminded me of the Twilight Zone as I read them. xP

Really good collection of horror short stories. Well thought out and satisfyingly creepy. My only minor complaint is with the formatting job on the Kindle. Must have been three or four different fonts that changed in the middle of stories. Just sayin'. Hey it was free, so no biggie. But the stories were excellent. Very Good Read.
I really enjoyed the stories in this book. I felt the author has a gift for maximizing the use of a few words. Some of the stories are very short, but the author still sucks you into the tale.
I also found the stories very entertaining. They were not boring like other short stories I've read in the past.
Great job, Mr. Fingerman :)

A scary read and truly original voice. If you like The Twilight Zone or Tales of the Unexpected, then check this book out. In my eyes, he's the modern day Edgar Allan Poe.

I tried. I really, really tried. Some of the ideas were good, but for the most part, the stories were warmed-over Stephen King or Twilight Zone in awkward prose. After getting through about half the stories and not feeling satisfied by any of them, I just gave up.
