The plot of the book has been explained by other reviewers so I won't get into it here. Basically, Faith Parker wakes up in a hospital bed with amnesia and a connection to her best friend and spends the story trying to find her friend and afterward find the friend's killer.
I'm an inveterate re-reader, but this book goes into my delete pile rather than the re-read pile because I really didn't like how it ended. Now you can see the plot-twist ending coming from a mile away, but I seri More...

I've really gotten hooked on Kay Hooper's books. I plowed through this one. Didn't even have time to add it to my "Reading" section before I needed to list in under "Read."
The paranormal is the "norm" for Hooper, but she does it with flair and makes it interesting. I keep expecting her to show her entire hand, but she seems to keep a few cards back waiting on the next book.

This one continues the whole series but can stand alone as well!! Bishop is more indirectly involved in this book but does make his appearance! The real story is the woman just getting out of a coma and her friends disappearance while she was in the coma! At the core these are mystery stories but always with a bit of a paranormal twist which makes it that much more interesting!! There is an extremely bizarre twist at the end of this one that I am still not sure I completely understand but I

Hiding in the Shadows is the second book in the Bishop series. I was surprised to realize that it is completely different from the first book in the series. Bishop is the only common link but had a very secondary role her and the truth is that the type of story is completely different from the first one.

I discovered this book after reading and being intrigued by another title in the series, so I had certain expectations of this one. I was surprised that it didn't match the first in tone or pacing; except for the recurring character of Noah Bishop, the two stories aren't at all related in style.
The narrative was enjoyable if not entirely riveting, but the suspense did gather momentum toward the end. That was good. Then the author pulled the ultimate spooky rabbit out of her hat, and More...

This is the second in the Shadows Trilogy and I must say I enjoyed the first one better (rated 4 stars on this blog in July 2008).
This novel doesn't feature the main character from the first book, and in fact could be read as a stand alone. In this book Faith Parker has a car accident and has finally awoken from her coma without any memory of the crash, or her life before the accident.
Meanwhile, journalist Dinah Leighton has gone missing. Dinah regularly visited Faith in the More...

there have been Kay Hooper books which I enjoyed better. this one had a key character recovering from a coma with little side effects other than the well worn amnesia. I found that i couldn't really care for the characters, or get too interested at all in what they were experiencing. i had a hard time getting into the book, but thought it would be better.

This was my first time to read a book by Kay Hooper. I found it delightful, suspenseful, romantic, sad, and worth my time. It was a joy to discover another author worthy of attention. I was a little put off by the strange ending that seemed to suggest an idea I'm not sure yet if I can embrace, but it still gave the story a welcome twist.

Faith awakens from a coma with no memory of who she was, and is enlisted to help find her friend Dinah through her psychic connection while others are trying to kill her and stop her investigation along with Dinah's lover. Not as good as Hooper's Evil series.

Very good story. The author does a good job of holding the reader's attention through all of the twists and turns. The ending came as a surprise and required a little suspension of disbelief, but other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A nice easy read! I liked the story and have always enjoy Ms. Koopers novels. They are the kind of book you want to read when you are in between series or just want something easy and quick with a little thrill or mystery.

I'm not sure where I am with this series. The plot was a bit unbelievable, but then I guess it should be. I'm not sure I liked this part of the series (the Shadows), but then not sure I don't. I'll have to read the third book to know for sure, but they are well written. So...

This book was awesome! It was a page turner for sure! I did get a bit frustrated with all of the questions and uncertainty, but it made the ending sooo much better. I was so excited, I was just about jumping out of my skin! This is my favorite book of the series so far. They seem to be getting better!

I listened to this in my car. While the story was good and suspenseful, there was also an element of paranormal/psychic activity which I really don't care for.

oh myy gawd! it was a great book! i literally just finished it today after starting it last night! suspense, action, crimes, kidnappers, psychics, it combines them all!

Faith comes out of a coma to help Kane find the kidnapper of his girlfriend. I enjoyed the suspense of this novel and the paranormal angle. Makes me want to read more books from this series.

I'm surprised she's scoring 4 points on this book, I thought it was rather lame. I've read other books of hers and really enjoyed them.

I loved this book. I love the paranormal aspects. The ending stretched my imagination a little, but it was a happy ending.

This one wasn't nearly as good as the first one in the series. It moved along rather slowly, and I found myself putting it down and not wanting to pick it back up. It's a shame really because I love psychics and romance and mystery, but this combination just didn't work for me. Maybe the next one will be better.

The who done it tale is good. The twist in the ending is a little strange and not quite believable but interesting.

Wow!!! Another compelling page turner from Hooper. This story had such an intense plot and kept me guessing and guessing and guessing!! For awhile there I thought for sure Kane was somehow involved and was relieved to find out he wasn't. Phew!

An interesting twist at the end. Suspenseful enough to be read in one sitting.
