This is my other favorite childhood book along with Robinson Crusoe. I rememeber it very fondly and how much I identfied myself with the protagonist. Also, I got this present as a gift from my late grandmother, who I loved like a mother. She was an avid reader and the one responsible for my passion for reading. Thank you Lygia for being a part of my childhood, and thanks Grandma for introducing me to this big great world of books since whe I was a litle kid.

I read this one in portuguese when I was ten...

All the kids should read this one!

"The Yellow Bag" is such an amazing book and it has a very special place in my heart. I first read it when I was very small, maybe eight years ago, and since then I have re-read it so many times I can't even count. The story is very different from what you usually read, and I think that is what caught me about this book and made me love it with all my heart. Every time I read it, it's like a trip back to my childhood, and it gets even better the more I read it, because when you're older you unde ...more

This was one of my favorite books as a child. I re-read it several times. I carried a purse of my own with notebooks, pens and other things and started dreaming about being a writer! My passion for books and writing only grew since then.

I love this book. It is one of my childhood favorites.

I re-read it expecting just a feel good read and some warm memories, but it amazed me with the thoughts, the feminism, the feelings of children regarding adults, the people that have their mind strongly tied to have an opinion and never change it and so much more.

I believe people of all ages could learn and/or rethink of something reading this book.
