This is book #3 in the Jay Leicester mystery series by J. C. Simmons. The author, like his character Jay Leicester, is a retired pilot that lives in Mississippi. I was out of library books and had this story on the Nook so tried it. Jay is a P.I. and is hired by a beautiful blond to help find her brother. They are art dealers, and he went missing in Maine while transacting an art deal. This story has the Chicago mob, a missing art collection along with the missing $450,000 her brother took with ...more

This is actually the third book of this series and I found it a thoroughly entertaining read. Very "to the point" writing....not a lot of fluff. Good mystery, characters I'd love to be friends with and a good feel for the setting. What more could I want?....Only the other books in the series! I've already downloaded #1 and plan to read them all if they're as good as this one. Kudos, Mr. Simmons!

An excellent mystery. I really liked Jay and JL. The process of investigation was logical and clear. I was interested and involved through to the end. I didn't start suspecting the culprit till the end.

A decent murder mystery; but some elements I don't believe realistic. Flows fairly well, but sometimes I lost interest; this is why it took me somewhat longer in finishing.
