Domination is the last book I'll be reading in the Deviations series. For a BDSM series it is far too mushy for me. I can't take Tobias seriously as a master. Tobias spoils his sub. He doesn't push or challenge Noah or himself. He gives in to Noah way too often. I've never seen a sub allowed so many orgasms in a BDSM novel. Tobias knows this and he acknowledges it at the beginning of the book. He says he slipped up a little and he wasn't getting what he wanted out of their relationship. The line...more

More romantic and less disturbing than the first book

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 9/10

PROS:
- The serious, heavy BDSM actions continue in this volume, but I didn’t find them as disturbing/disquieting. (Maybe I’m just used to the ways in which Noah submits to Tobias after reading the first book.) There’s one scene in which Noah goes very deep into his headspace and Tobias has to coax him out of it that I found fascinating.
- The relationship has ev...more

Absolutely beautiful. This book was amazing. I was a little saddened when I found out that all of the books in this series were about Tobias and Noah, because there were such interesting characters introduced in the first book, I'd hoped to be able to get their stories as well. However, one of the things that makes this book amazing is that we're still getting the stories of all of those fantastic side characters, but we also got to know both Tobias and Noah so much better.

I LOVED how the relati...more

I was so excited to read the continuation of Noah and Tobias's relationship. It was a great disappointment to me that the book started off with Tobias cracking down on the submissive aspect of their relationship - to the point that Noah isn't allowed to speak unless asked a question. Luckily for me that was only temporary. In this book Tobias has to come to terms with his need for Noah not only as a sub but as a lover too. During a particularly emotional time Tobias lets Noah see a vulnerable si...more

As many told me, the second books in the Deviations series tends to be a little more “public” than the previous one, but that is not necessarily a bad point. True, I don’t like very much public sex scene, but the ones in Deviations: Domination are tempered by the fact that they are, in a way, a commitment: allowing Tobias to stake his claims on Noah in front of their friend is a way for Tobias to fully commit to Noah and for Noah to fully acknowledge his relationship with Tobias. If I remember w...more

A sequel that holds up to its predecessor. The pace is great, the storyline doesn't have a major conflict but rather continuous moments of tension and um...release. The book follows Tobias and Noah's relationship as it develops and the feeling of growth and progress is nicely combined with setbacks and conflicts, it feels natural in a way that few books does. The peaks and valleys of the relationship are beautifully portrayed and at least my heart is touched by these characters.

I also love the c...more

Deviations is one of my very favorite series. I love Tobias and Noah and Phan is so precious, so needy, you can't help loving him.
The first book, Submission, was about contracts, negotiation, and the sub learning to submit. Domination takes the next step in the BDSM world. You think it's easy being the Dom? Think again. This book digs into Tobias' thoughts and motivations, what he needs, what he wants and ultimately what scares the crap out of him. Tobias allows Noah to see a side of him no sub...more

What I like about these books is the simplicity of them. We all get overwhelmed periodically & get stuck. Problems often seem so daunting that we sometimes forget to break it down into smaller pieces & in so doing the problem becomes infinitely more manageable. It's seemingly such a simple concept that is all too often forgotten. These books take the mundane realities we all face infusing & brightening them up thereby making them both relatable & engaging.

Having settled together Tobias and Noah are now exploring their boundaries, Noah is working on his trust issues and Tobias is trying to adjust to being a full time Dom once again and the novel begins to focus more on Tobias this time around.

They pair move towards finalising their relationship and Tobias finally collars Tobias officially. I enjoy the pacing of the series which reads more like one long epic rather than a series of events, many other novels would have the main pairing rushing into...more

It can be very disappointing when the following books in a series are not as good as the first book. With that said, it's not the case here. This second book in the Deviations series was just as good or even better than book one. I am absolutely entranced with the relationship between Tobias and Noah. Plus, the cast of supporting characters are phenomenal. This book went more to my heart due to allowing us to see a little vulnerability from Tobias and his struggle with it.
I am so looking forward...more

Let's see.
I started out with rating this 5 stars, but after having re-read it a lot of times my rating dropped, as more and more things started to annoy me & they usually all connected to one Phantom Shaw, who is and will ever be, the most annoying, whiny pain slut I have yet to read about.
I don't like brats who do it deliberately or people trying to worm their way into newly established relationships simply because they cannot move on themselves.

At about page 70 Bradford and Tobias are t...more

Excellent. Tobias and Noah's relationship really advances to the next level in this book. They overcome some set-backs and really make some breakthroughs and are a stronger, happier couple by the end. We also learn a lot about some of the secondary characters, especially Phan and Bradford. I can't wait to read more about everyone in the next book.

If I had any complaint about this book, it would be that some of the situations that I would really like to see played-out just fade to black. (***mino...more

After reading SUBMISSION I decided to read another novel but I couldn’t let go of Tobias and Noah, a sign for me that the first novel definitely left its mark on me. I decided to throw my “genre variation prevents boredom” rule overboard and just go with my need for more about these men. And more I definitely got…

With an established base line of trust Tobias and Noah head for an intensifying of their connection. Phantom, as Tobias former sub, stirs the deeper lying issues for both Tobias as well...more

I was desperate for something stupid and pornographic and I did not care that it is the second book in the Deviation series. Porn baby give me the porn. I got it. This book is not the shiniest marvel of literature, but should have porn some philosophical issue? I do not think so. Tobias, who plays the master it the book, is little troubled and for my taste unsure one. His sub Noah is little whiny one. Yes they are the main pair of the book, but their issues seems to me pointless and they should...more

I'm not going to rate this book, mostly based on the fact that I don't know enough about D/s relationships to make an adequate assessment. I actually finished the first two in the series, and it lost me in the 2nd part when they 'shared' each other with another person. I skipped ahead to book 4 and glanced at the ending. Lost it completely when it became something other than the good Doctor and the Officer.

While I'm not disappointed that I read the book, I was disappointed at how it played out.

The series keeps getting more interesting when you see what Tobias has to deal with being a Dom. He shows his vulnerable side on Christmas eve to Noah and you see them become lovers in love along with their D/s relationship. I thought the public scene in the parking lot of the club was hot and the New Year's eve party even hotter. These authors put so much into this story that I get swept up in these characters. Looking forward to the next book.

I absolutely loved this book and I stole time to read it as often as I could. I loved getting more in depth with Tobias and Noah and even learning more about Phan.

I loved the way the boys grew together and even though things were rocky, they were both working to improve their D/s relationship as well as their blossoming romantic relationship.

The public sex scene was amazing as was the collaring scene at the end. I never expected to cry during this book but when Phan had his breakthrough and Tobi...more

Just as gripping as the first one. The development of Tobias and Noah's relationship is beautiful and I loved the subplot/strand with Phan. I'm utterly hooked on this series and have just bought the rest of them. I love the complexity and compassion of this story, the characters are just wonderful. Can't wait to dive into book three.

The ever so hot Tobias and his sexy sub Noah are so steamy together. I enjoyed this book more than the first. Tobias is worthy of boot licking. He is strong and suppotive. He cares for his sub and wants everyone to know how happy he is. Noah pleases his Master and learns to expand his boundaries. I am looking forward to book 3.

Great follow up to Submission. I love how Tobias's character had some major development that showed some real flaws that he tried to work through with Noah. Sex scenes were steamy and erotic while not being redundant which easily happens in a series. Great second book. Looking forward to book three.

I've just re-read this book (2nd in the series) and enjoyed it even more than the first time. All 4 books in the series are so rich with character development and world/lifestyle detail that each reading just brings out more treasures of understanding.

In this, the second of the series, the story is getting even better. Character development is excellent. And . . . the doms are still human!

I am impressed by the progression of the story and the very human element that is portrayed in the characters. None are in anyway stereo types or cardboard personas.

I loved the chemistry between Noah and Sir! This reminded me a bit of A Russian Bear (Russian Bear, #1) just with different kinks. I'm really looking forward to reading about Phan he's an interesting one.

I gave it a 3 because I couldn't say I didn't like it, but in my opinion it was very... boring. There were 5000 rules and a lot of talk about pushing limits that I think they only did like once or twice. I did like it in that the book shows you a different side of the BDSM scene.

Every book in this series has been a one sitting read for me. I can't believe how much I am enjoying these books. In two days I read three of them. No doubt by the end of the week I will have finished the series and be suffering withdrawals.

This book reedemed the series for me. Far better than book 1. There was plot, purpose and character development. I would've liked a bit more insight into Noah but perhaps that happens in future books in the series.
Seregil
I like this series (and this book) because it shows the human side of the Doms. They are not god like and perfect. They suffer, make mistakes, get scared and need their Subs as much as their Subs need them.
Tara
This is the continuing story of Tobias and Noah as they travel through their journey. In this Tobias pushed Noah further and in turn Noah earns some rewards. And everybody is all about Phantom as he attempts to close a painfull chapter of his life and Noah comes to terms with his place in Tobias' life.

Overall, it still fells like part of a big book, but I at least see where this book was focused. Which is a step in the right direction.
Nene
Excellent continuation. I find myself more interested in Phan's storyline than I do the main characters, but it's still a good story all around!
