There are a few things I liked about this book. Because it's Denise Austin, she focuses on the exercise part of the diet, rather than the food, though that is covered as well. It has helpful facts about why women gain weight in certain areas. She gives many different stretches, exercises, and ways to stay active during the day, plus a 6 week program (exercise and food). She also gives alternate programs for 1400, 1600, and 1800 calorie portions. The food is fairly easy to make, and the menu...more
THis book includes shopping lists, exercise guides with photos, and brief explanations of female fat and strategies to minimize that fat. No surprise that stress is a contributor to weight gain. While this book does approach good health in a holistic sense, it is more secular. To me it seems to emphasize breathing and relaxation more than connecting to a higher vibration by meditation. As usual with all of Denise's books that I've read I always find at least one thing to take away. I thought she did a good job explaining the trouble/fat zones that women have and what caused them. I'm actually looking forward to trying some of the recipes as well as the exercises that she shows you in the book.
I think it could work if I only had the willpower to follow it.
It works if you do it!:) Doing it is the hurdle eeh?

She has a lot of great tips, but what I liked the most is her section on dieting because she has meals and a shopping list! It made it easier for me to get an idea of what to eat and I took the book with me to the grocery store to reference.
I am sure that this plan works for a lot of people and I am happy for them. It just doesn't work for me.
I really like it so far although the front cover isn't very modest-even Jake noticed (my 2 yr old)
I guess we'll see if i can use what I learned...
