Plain girl discovers that is she is the person she is going to be in the commercial-she will do fine. Gee, is that not method acting, and she learned in in just a few minutes. She is living with the manager she cannot trust, and crying out her eyes, over a boy, who only wants to marry her-because of her father. Gee, she still fauns over her cellphone-for any text from him--get real girl. Oh, plain jane had her short hair trimmed, and highlights, added, so now she is a raving beauty-really, reall...more

I'm really starting to love these characters already! Volume 2 is excellent because we are really starting to dig in to who these characters are and what they care about. Yura really shines on the set of her first photo shoot and proves to everyone involved in the project, including the director and Haruka, that she truly does have talent. Seeing Haruka's reaction to Yura is really cute, too - he's so flustered, it's adorable. You can already tell that, wary as Haruka is of Yura right now, he is...more

Having just finished volume one I've wasted no time jumping into the next book of the series. In this volume Yuri's agent takes center stage and the romantic triangle is starting to really develop.

Almost every single issue I had with the first volume were gone this time around. The pacing slows down to focus on a few smaller aspects, the characters get more individual focus and the panel design was more traditional. Overall everything was easier to follow and the flow was there. I had absolutely...more

Volume 2 finds Yura dealing with a set-back, her uniform has been purposely stained so she can't participate in the publicity shots for her new show. Also this volume sets up a love harem for the innocent Yura, as the darling Q-ta pursues her ardently, the defiant Haruka becomes obsessed with the mystery of her because of his brother's attention to her, and her manager who remains emotionally aloof but is perhaps too protective?

The proper continuation! The first one is lots of Action mixed with the Drama, but Aihara-sama ups the ante when her starlet is given major coverage and comes out smooth, smelling like a budding rose. This is a great series, and while it isn't what I would consider a young Josei series, it's really great. This volume gets you going, and you just can't wait to keep reading!

Only in manga, books, and movies can you find so many boys hovering around a shy, awkward main character. It's a fun fantasy and works well here because of Yura's sincerity. The art and story continue to be excellent in this volume. I look forward to reading more.

The story is getting better with this book. I'm a little confused about Q-ta, he is always there when Yura needs someone to talk to but his intentions towards her are not very clear yet.

Really enjoying this series! Love the artwork, and I like the characters well enough that I don't mind that it goes at a slower pace.

So much drama, well, leading up to so much drama anyway. I should have known better, this is Aihara we're talking about.

A more whimsical look at show biz than Skip Beat, but definitely enjoyable.
